Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!
Chapter 93: Mia In Danger
A few seconds later, the first batch of new students rushed onto the scene.
"Where’s the badge?!"
Ella pointed in the direction Ryan had left.
"He took it."
"Who?"
"Ryan."
The moment they heard Ryan’s name, the air became quiet.
"Forget it."
Someone was very decisive.
"Let’s just wait for the third one."
Core cultivation qualification was indeed tempting, but the cost couldn’t be completely ignored.
"Wait, you guys are just going to leave him?" Ella complained loudly, but no one seemed to pay her any attention.
At this moment, Ella started feeling as if she had been scammed.
...
Monitoring area.
After watching the whole process, Cecilia suddenly said, "You two are actually quite similar."
Victor frowned, turning to her.
"How are we similar?"
"Both very realistic."
"Is that a compliment?"
"You can take it as one."
Victor watched Ryan quickly leave the central rock valley.
What truly interested him was not the badge Ryan had secured, but rather his choices from start to finish.
He hadn’t deliberately taken down all the students alone just to show off his strength. Nor had he stood there waiting for others to challenge him after getting the badge.
He had simply achieved his goal and left.
This combat style wasn’t particularly flashy, but it ensured survival.
And it was highly efficient. Plus, with his insane luck, someone like him would really live a long and prosperous life.
This was, ironically, exactly the kind of protagonist Victor least wanted to face.
But at the same time, the fact that Ryan was growing stronger might not be entirely bad for Victor.
At least before the true great enemy appeared, he didn’t mind having someone else draw away some of the attention.
Victor’s gaze moved again, settling on Mia once more.
She was still on the periphery, having already moved completely away from the three students who had tried to snatch the moon grass. 𝑓𝑟ℯℴ𝓂
But the girl’s current situation wasn’t exactly easy, either.
After continuous fighting, her mana reserves had clearly dropped. Her right leg had also suffered a slight sprain earlier, making her movement speed somewhat slower than when she had first entered the ecological zone.
If she continued wandering alone like this, she would sooner or later encounter a magical beast she truly couldn’t handle.
Just as Victor was considering how she would deal with it, a familiar figure appeared on the screen.
This person was none other than the girl with short hair who had previously kicked her off the team.
She was running with two other people behind her, but they weren’t her original teammates.
More precisely, she was fleeing from them.
"Mia!"
The girl with short hair spotted her immediately.
Her expression shifted from surprise to alarm as she immediately shouted, "Run!"
Mia didn’t ask why, because the next second, the reason for her panic charged out of the forest.
Boom!
A small tree was snapped in half as a nearly three meter long, dark brown magical beast burst from the bushes. It had two bone horns curving backward on its head, highly raised back muscles, and blood dripping from the corners of its mouth.
[Black Horned Hunting Beast]
Level 16.
And judging by its condition, it was clearly already injured.
But being injured didn’t mean it was weak.
Many magical beasts, when pushed to the brink of death, would enter a far more dangerous berserk state driven by pain.
The two students behind the girl with short hair were clearly injured.
One of them was even limping.
Mia took a single glance, then quickly moved aside to open a path.
"This way!"
The four of them converged.
There was no time to catch their breath.
The Black Horned Hunting Beast had already pounced for a second time.
"Scatter!"
The girl with short hair raised her hand, and a wall of earth rose from the ground.
Bang!
The magical beast slammed into it headfirst.
The earth wall instantly became covered in a web of cracks. It lasted less than a second before shattering completely.
Mia frowned when she noticed the residual magical structure lingering in the air after the earth wall shattered.
It was too messy.
The girl with short hair had cast too hastily.
At least thirty percent of the mana hadn’t actually gone into the defensive structure.
"Don’t use a full wall!" Mia suddenly shouted.
The girl was shocked.
"What?"
"Its attack is concentrated at the front. Only block the head!"
There was no time to ask because the Black Horned Hunting Beast had already readjusted its trajectory.
Gritting her teeth, the girl cast again.
This time, she didn’t create a full earth wall.
Following Mia’s instructions, she erected a thick rock shield, less than half the width of the previous one, directly in front of the beast.
Boom!
The impact made the rock shield tremble violently. However, it didn’t break.
The girl’s eyes instantly lit up.
It actually worked!
"Attack its left side!" Mia shouted again.
The other two hesitated, turning to her.
"Why?"
"Its left hind leg’s mana flow is incomplete!"
They didn’t understand, but there was no other choice. Having seen how her last instruction had paid off, they quickly did as instructed.
The archer raised his bow and fired.
Pfft!
The arrow struck the left hind leg.
The Black Horned Hunting Beast’s body suddenly dipped as an old wound split open where fur had previously covered it.
"There!" The girl with short hair finally understood. "Hit the old wound!"
The three of them changed targets.
Fireball! Arrow! Rock spike!
They continuously bombarded the same spot.
The Black Horned Hunting Beast roared and turned.
It wanted to charge at Mia because, from the beginning, she was the one who had truly turned the tide of the battle.
Mia noticed it herself, her expression turning slightly grave.
She had no ability to directly block a Level 16 magical beast.
She could only run.
But her right leg was injured, limiting her speed greatly.
And so the magical beast grew closer and close entering the final 5 meters.
Up in the monitoring area, Victor’s body subconsciously leaned forward, and he clenched the railing without realizing it.
’Is this it?’
