Chapter 128: Arriving at the Alves Territory
Victor placed a document on the table.
"The Alves family has confirmed the Moonlight Sacred Spring slot we discussed. The facility can be prepared as soon as we settle your travel arrangements."
"Good."
Cecilia nodded, her gaze falling on the document Victor placed before her.
She had already given him the Inferno Prison Secret Realm Entry Token as cover for securing the Spring slot, so the question now was not whether he would help, but how they would carry out the next stage without attracting attention.
It not only detailed the arrangements for using the Moonlight Sacred Spring but also included precautions to observe during treatment and several basic examinations that might be necessary.
She carefully examined it for a while before slowly raising her head.
"Victor."
"Hm?"
"Will the family’s healers have access to the results from our first treatment?"
"Only what they need for the preliminary examinations."
Victor smiled.
"The outer erosion has already been cleared. They need to monitor your current condition and prepare the Spring, not investigate everything that happened before."
Cecilia nodded thoughtfully as she asked,
"And the next session?"
"We proceed as agreed," Victor replied. "The Spring will provide the conditions we need to work on the remaining erosion. But I won’t make promises about the final result until we’ve examined your condition there."
He had no intention of discussing the precise nature of his ability in the reception hall.
Cecilia studied him for a moment, then nodded.
"I understand. We’ve already taken the first step. I wouldn’t have come today if I weren’t prepared for the next."
"Then all that’s left is to make sure the arrangements are suitable."
Victor picked up his teacup and smiled.
"After all, bringing the Empire’s Third Princess to Alves territory isn’t something we should handle carelessly."
"That’s precisely what concerns me," Cecilia replied. "I trust the arrangements you’ve made, but I want this visit to remain private. If news of my treatment spreads, certain people within the imperial family might interpret it as a political move."
Victor naturally understood her concerns.
"No problem."
He agreed almost without hesitation.
"I’ll have the family arrange everything as a private visit. The Spring’s staff will be limited to the people we actually need, and your medical records won’t be circulated. No information will be released to the public."
Hearing this, Cecilia visibly relaxed.
"Thank you."
"However, there’s something I need to make clear in advance." Victor suddenly said.
"Hm?" Cecilia looked up at him. "What is it?"
"If this treatment really works, you can’t pretend you don’t know me afterward."
"Huh?"
Cecilia froze for a moment before bursting into laughter.
"What are you talking about?"
"I’ve gone through quite a bit of trouble for this."
Victor spoke with an entirely serious expression.
"At the very least, the distinguished Third Princess of the Empire should remember someone like me, shouldn’t she?"
Seeing his expression, the smile on Cecilia’s face immediately grew even brighter.
"Don’t worry." She nodded gently. "I’ll remember."
"That’s good." Victor raised his teacup with satisfaction.
Meanwhile, Evelyn, who stood behind him, couldn’t help revealing a slightly peculiar expression as she watched their exchange.
If someone else heard these words, they would probably assume Victor was merely joking.
However, after following the Young Master for so long, she had already gained a certain understanding of his personality.
Although the Young Master usually spoke casually, when it came to actually doing things, he rarely acted without a purpose.
But...
Evelyn glanced at Cecilia, who was sitting opposite them.
At least from the looks of things, Her Highness the Third Princess didn’t seem to dislike the Young Master’s manner of speaking.
...
Over the next half hour, the two sides quickly finalized the specific arrangements.
Cecilia would travel to the Alves family territory in a private capacity, accompanied only by the necessary guards and attendants. The entire treatment process would also be kept strictly confidential.
Victor, meanwhile, would be responsible for communicating with the family to ensure that the Moonlight Sacred Spring could be used according to plan.
They also agreed on a departure in the next few days, once Cecilia’s small escort was ready. The family’s healers would carry out preliminary examinations, while Victor would personally oversee the next treatment session as planned.
...
After seeing Cecilia off, Victor stood beside the window, watching the silver-white-haired figure gradually disappear into the distance, a thoughtful expression appearing in his eyes.
"Maybe this trip back to the family territory will allow me to find some things that are even more suitable for me."
As one of the Empire’s top ducal families, the resources possessed by the Alves family naturally extended far beyond the Moonlight Sacred Spring.
In particular, the family’s extensive collection of books, cultivation facilities, and various special materials were things that ordinary professionals could hardly hope to access.
The previous Victor might not have paid much attention to these things.
But now, things were different.
He had gradually established a clear direction for his own growth, and he was currently at the critical stage of preparing to advance to the Second Life Tier.
If he could take advantage of this return to the family territory to properly explore the resources the family could provide, perhaps he might actually discover quite a few things worth making use of.
Thinking of this, a trace of anticipation flashed through Victor’s eyes.
After all, as the Young Master of the Alves family, wouldn’t it be an enormous waste of his status if he didn’t even know how many valuable treasures his own family possessed?
...
Several days later.
Alves Family Territory.
A convoy bearing the Alves family crest was slowly traveling along a broad road toward the estate.
Tall, neatly arranged trees lined both sides of the road, while in the distance stood a magnificent complex of noble buildings. Towering spires and pristine white stone walls reflected the sunlight, displaying the profound heritage of this ducal family.
Victor sat inside a carriage, gazing through the window at the approaching estate, his expression rather relaxed.
Meanwhile, inside another carriage.
Cecilia gently lifted the curtain beside the window and gazed at the magnificent estate buildings in the distance, a complicated expression appearing in her eyes.
Over the years, attempt after attempt had taught her that completely freeing herself from the Abyssal Heart Erosion Curse was definitely no easy task.
However, when her gaze fell upon Victor’s carriage traveling ahead of her, her previously tense emotions unknowingly relaxed somewhat.
She didn’t know why, but after seeing everything he had done so far, she was beginning to regain a bit of hope.
Before long, the convoy passed through the estate gates and finally came to a slow stop in front of the main building.
Victor was the first to step out of his carriage.
Looking at the familiar yet magnificent building before him, he lightly stretched his shoulders, and a smile appeared on his face.
"We’ve finally arrived."
