Villain's Evolution: Investing in My Minions Yields Crazy Returns!
Chapter 125: Going to the Alves Territory? [2]
“Young Master, are you planning to arrange for Her Highness to visit the family territory?”
“Exactly.” Victor nodded. “Since I’ve already promised to help her find a solution, I can’t just keep putting it off. Besides, her current condition isn’t something that should be delayed much longer.”
Evelyn considered this for a momen, then nodded.
“Then should I contact the family now?”
“First, confirm whether the Moonlight Sacred Spring can be made available for use anytime soon. Also, send Cecilia a letter informing her that my injuries have recovered and that we can begin making arrangement.”
“Understood.”
Evelyn immediately made a note of the instructions.
However, she didn’t leave right away. She looked at Victor and suddenly asked another question.
“Young Master, you seem particularly concerned about Her Highness’s affairs.”
Victor raised his head. “Is there a problem?”
“No.” Evelyn’s expression remained calm. “I’m merely curious.”
“Curious about what?”
“Do you genuinely wish to help Her Highness, or is there something about her that offers benefits worth pursuing?”
Hearing this, Victor laughed softly.
“Why can’t it be both?”
He leaned back in his chair, his expression perfectly natural.
“Cecilia is the Empire’s Third Princess, and she possesses rather impressive talent herself. Establishing a good relationship with someone like her certainly wouldn’t hurt me. Besides…”
At this point, a faint smile appeared on his lips.
“She even gave me the Inferno Prison Secret Realm Entry Token in advance.”
Evelyn glanced at the dark red token on the desk.
“So, Young Master intends to return the favor?”
“You could put it that way.” Victor nodded casually.”However, I genuinely want to see just how effective the Moonlight Sacred Spring will be against the curse afflicting her.”
After all, the [Abyssal Heart Erosion Curse] was no ordinary negative status effect.
If he could find an effective way to deal with it, not only would Cecilia’s current circumstances improve, but it might also represent an extremely valuable investment opportunity for him.
Of course, until he had actually confirmed the effects of the Moonlight Sacred Spring, he had no intention of placing all his hopes on the System’s investment returns.
“In any case, let’s get everything arranged first.” Victor continued. “Once Cecilia’s matter has been handled, we can begin preparing to enter the Inferno Prison Secret Realm.”
“Understood, Young Master.”
Evelyn nodded and was about to turn around and leave when she suddenly seemed to remember something and stopped.
“Oh, right, Young Master. There’s also the matter of today’s challenge match.”
“What about it?”
“News of your victory over Edmund has already spread.”
Evelyn explained.
“Since the match ended, three student teams have already sent you invitations. Additionally, two senior students have asked whether you would be willing to accept new arena challenges.”
“That quickly?” Victor waa stunned.
“Yes.” Evelyn continued. “Aside from that, several students have also expressed their hope of receiving swordsmanship guidance from you.”
“…”
Victor didn’t know whether to laugh or cry.
He had merely fought one casual match.
How had he suddenly become such a popular figure within the academy?
“Reject them all.”
He answered without the slightest hesitation.
“I’m not interested in spending every day practicing swordsmanship with other people.”
“What about the invitations from the student teams?”
“Reject those too.” Victor waved his hand. “It’s not like I’m lacking teammates.”
Evelyn nodded and was about to turn around and leave when she suddenly seemed to remember something and stopped.
Evelyn nodded and was about to follow his instructions when Victor suddenly called out to her again.
“Wait.”
“Young Master?”
“In the future, if anyone approaches us wanting to join my team, or comes seeking assistance because they’re struggling with cultivation resources, there’s no need to reject everyone outright.”
Victor considered it briefly before continuing.
“Collect their information first. Pay particular attention to students with decent talent who are in difficult circumstances for various reasons.”
For someone who possessed the Villain Investment System, such students were often more deserving of attention.
As for whether he would actually approach them, that could be decided after reviewing their information.
“Understood.”
Evelyn nodded and recorded these instructions as well.
Afterward, she tidied up the documents on the desk and prepared to leave the study but just as she reached the doorway, Victor
spoke again.
“Oh, right, Evelyn.”
“Young Master, is there anything else?”
“Tell the kitchen to prepare something more lavish for dinner tonight.”
Evelyn was slightly surprised. “Is there some special occasion today?”
Victor smiled. “Of course there is.”
He leaned back in his chair and said as though it were perfectly obvious,
“My injuries have finally healed completely, and I even won a match while I was at it. Don’t you think that’s worth a little celebration?”
Evelyn looked at him and remained silent for several seconds.
Then, a faint smile finally appeared at the corners of her lips.
“Understood, Young Master.”
“I’ll make sure the kitchen prepares something special.”
Watching Evelyn’s departing figure, Victor nodded in satisfaction.
…
Early the next morning.
Victor had just finished a night of meditation when he slowly opened his eyes. Sensing the mana within his body had once again returned to its peak, a satisfied smile appeared on his face.
Ever since his injuries had completely healed, he could finally resume his usual cultivation routine, and after yesterday’s challenge match against Edmund, he intended to use this time to further consolidate his swordsmanship.
With that thought, Victor casually picked up the training longsword beside his bed and headed toward the backyard.
The morning air still carried a slight chill. In the spacious courtyard, several servants were trimming the flowers and plants. Upon seeing Victor approach, they immediately stopped working and bowed respectfully.
“Young Master!”
“Mm. Carry on.”
Victor casually waved his hand and walked straight toward the training ground in the center of the courtyard.
However, just as he was about to begin practicing his swordsmanship, his gaze suddenly fell upon a figure on the other side of the training ground.
It was a young man holding a longsword.
…It was Noah!
