Villainous Family Young Master: My Life is Over
Volume 3: Chapter 29 - Brother Robert is Still Alive
(Lia's Perspective)
"Father, why did you call for me again?"
Compared to the last time, my tone was noticebly cold and my eyes were devoid of any emotion when I looked at Marquis Bahod.
Ever since I heard the news that Brother Robert might be dead, my heart seems to have died.
Nothing in this world matter anymore and life held no more meaning.
Marquis Bahod slowly raised his head from the documents on his desk.
His sharp eyes briefly swept over me before he spoke in his usual indifferent tone.
"Your emotions seem rather unstable recently."
"..."
I reminded silent and said nothing.
"Forget it, i understand your feelings. However, there is new news about your brother."
"Here, take it." Marquis Bahod handed over a letter with a cold face.
Hearing that there was news of Brother Robert, i didn't feel happy at all. Instead a strange fear gripped my heart.
My fingers unconsciously trembled as I reached out and accepted the letter.
For a brief moment, I didn't dare to open it.
I was afraid that the contents inside would completely shatter the last sliver of hope in my heart.
Seeing my hesitation, Marquis Bahod spoke indifferently,
"Do not worry, the content is different from what you think. The sender of this letter is Robert. He isn't dead yet."
Hearing his words, my pupils shrank then without waiting any longer, I hurriedly unfolded the letter.
"This is..."
My eyes opened wide as I read the letter.
"As you can see, after the attack of the Love God Cult, Robert was rescued by the Princess of the Beastmen Kingdom. Therefore, you do not need to about him."
"However, he is still injured and just woke up recently from coma. Therefore, he might not be able to return to the family in this holiday."
The author's posting is the proper publication of this chapter, while this copy was made without approval.
"Of course, it's also possible for him to return in last few days but the probability is low."
Marquis Bahod explained slowly. However, I couldn't hear a hint of concern in his voice.
Compared to concern, I preferred he had some kind of plan for Brother Robert after knowing that he was rescued by the Princess of the Beastmen Kingdom.
"I understand father. Thank you for the news."
Suppressing the happiness in my heart, I said slowly in a calm voice.
"Hm, it's good that you understand. But next you need to..."
...
(Robert's Perspective)
In Astrea family Courtyard,
I sat on the side bench under the lush tree and looked at Elize curled up in my lap, my expression a little complicated.
"How did it turn out like this?"
I sighed and recalled what just happened.
After the Spirit Contract was formed, things didn't turn out the way I had thought.
Elize didn't recover her human form, nor did she wake up.
Well, in a sense she did wake up but she also didn't wake.
The reason for saying this is because she seems to have lost her memories.
After waking up, she didn't turn into a human form. Instead, she stayed in her fox form and jumped up to my bed and curled up in my lap to sleep.
Even after asking the system, the answer I got was that Elize would wake up after recovering her Spiritual Power and Magic Power through the contract with passage of time.
Although I got the answer and formed a Spirit Contract which increased my strength by a large amount, I couldn't feel happy at all because Elize didn't wake up.
The fact that I couldn't help the girl who saved me, made me feel guilty and also unhappy.
Just as I was lost in thought, a sound came from the side.
"Robert, is this Elize?"
Hearing the soft voice, I immediately recognised who speaking.
"It's Reina, when did you come here?" I smiled softly and greeted Reina then nodded to her question about Elize.
"I just arrived now. But she is really cute. Can I hold her?"
Girls have no resistance to cute things.
Even though she looks like a valiant and heroic Girl, Reina was no exception. when she saw Elize, her eyes couldn't help but shine.
Looking at her shining eyes, i couldn't help but laugh.
For a moment, the complicated mood in my heart disappeared.
"Of course."
I carefully lifted Elize from my lap and handed her to Reina.
"So soft..."
Reina's eyes immediately lit up and she gently stroked Elize's golden fur, her expression filled with affection.
Elize, however, seemed completely indifferent to the change of owner.
She merely opened her eyes slightly, glanced at Aina, then closed them again and continued sleeping peacefully in her arms.
"She doesn't seem to be afraid of me at all."
"She isn't afraid of anyone."
I shook my head helplessly, "Since waking up, she has been like this. She doesn't seem to remember anything, and she doesn't even react when I call her name."
Hearing my words, Reina's expression became slightly serious, "Could she really have lost all her memories?"
"That's what I think."
I looked at the sleeping golden fox, "I tried several methods, but none of them worked."
"I can now only hope for her to recover on her own."
"Don't worry. I believe she will recover soon." Reina nodded and comforted him.
"Hehe, thanks for the blessing, I really need it."
I smiled helplessly.
Although I said it jokingly, I genuinely hoped that her prayer would come true.
I wanted Elize to recover.
More than anything, I wanted the girl who had risked her life to save me to return to how she was before.
Reina continued gently stroking Elize's soft fur.
