Villainess X Villain: They are obsessed with each other!
Chapter 374 -: 373 Departure.
Chapter 374: Chapter: 373 Departure.
A few days ago.
Julius had recovered completely, thanks to Sylviana, who had healed all of his injuries. She had initially relied on medicinal methods for the wounds that weren’t immediately life-threatening, since some of them would have reappeared anyway.
The injuries that threatened his life, however, had been treated immediately, while the others were left to recover naturally with the help of medicine.
Now that an entire month had passed, there was no longer any need to worry about the wounds returning, and Sylviana had healed everything that remained without much difficulty.
Julius had finally returned to his normal condition, which meant there was no longer any reason for him and Rosalina to remain in the tree house.
"So you guys are really leaving?" Leon asked, his brows knitted together in worry.
"Yeah," Julius replied.
After recovering, there was little reason for them to stay any longer. He and Rosalina still had somewhere they needed to go, and that destination was connected to what Destiny had shown him.
Somewhere deeper within the forest was the location where Destiny had left behind something that would allow them to awaken the third ability of their eyes, and Julius had no intention of delaying their journey any further.
"You’re going deeper into the forest, aren’t you? Wouldn’t it be better if Sylviana and I accompanied you?" Leon asked, his expression becoming more serious.
"I know both of you are strong, but believe me when I say there are some extremely powerful beasts deeper inside. It would be safer if we went with you."
"H-he’s right..."
Sylviana spoke up from the side, her petite body trembling slightly for some reason. There was even a faint blush on her cheeks as she looked toward Julius and Rosalina.
Rosalina glanced at her for a moment before letting out a small sigh. She then walked over, grabbed Sylviana by the arm, and pulled the petite girl a short distance away before whispering something into her ear.
Julius couldn’t hear what she was saying, but judging from Sylviana’s increasingly red face, whatever Rosalina was telling her was clearly embarrassing enough to make her uncomfortable.
Julius decided not to interfere and instead turned his attention toward Leon. He walked over, grabbed the man’s shoulder, and pulled him closer.
"Listen," Julius called.
Leon stared at him in confusion. "What?"
"I know it’s a man’s honor that’s stopping you from reconciling with her, but let me tell you a secret. That bastard Crypian has a charm spell that can captivate practically any woman. Of course, my Rose can’t be captivated by anyone except me. She’s brilliant, a genius, and better than anyone else in this world, but Sylviana is still like a child in some ways, so she got carried away."
Julius had noticed Leon’s coldness toward Sylviana for quite some time. Despite Sylviana repeatedly trying to make amends for what had happened, Leon had continued keeping his distance from her.
Julius understood why. Leon had his own pride, and more importantly, he didn’t want to become someone’s second choice no matter how much he loved her.
He had done everything he could to win Sylviana’s heart, only for Crypian’s power to take it away from him. It was difficult for someone like Leon to simply forget something like that.
The strange thing was that Crypian’s system had indeed given him a passive ability called Charm, which would later evolve into something else that Julius could no longer remember.
That ability was one of the reasons Crypian’s life had become so ridiculously easy. Women who should have been completely unrelated to him could become attracted to him simply because of that power, allowing him to gather companions and opportunities that would otherwise have been impossible.
Julius couldn’t exactly explain the concept of a system skill to Leon, so he had simply described it as a spell.
Leon had already been told about it before, but knowing the reason behind Sylviana’s actions didn’t completely remove his doubts.
What if he accepted her again only for Crypian to somehow charm her another time? Wouldn’t it hurt even more if he had already allowed himself to trust her again?
Leon had spent so much time trying to win her over, only for a simple spell to take away the heart he had worked so hard to obtain.
He didn’t want to experience that kind of helplessness again, which was why keeping his distance had seemed like the safer choice.
But Julius knew something Leon didn’t.
He understood what was actually troubling the man, which was why his expression became slightly more serious as he continued speaking.
"You don’t need to worry about that. If she truly loves you now, she won’t be so easily charmed by someone else. And besides..."
Julius suddenly winked at him.
"That bastard is going to die very soon, and believe me when I say it, I won’t let him die a swift death."
Leon stared at Julius for a moment, seemingly unable to determine whether he was joking or completely serious. Judging from the expression on Julius’s face, however, it was probably safer not to ask.
After giving Leon his advice, Julius finally stepped away and looked toward Rosalina. She had apparently finished speaking with Sylviana, although the petite girl’s cheeks were now burning even more brightly than before.
"Alright, we’re leaving the tree house to you guys. Make sure to use it well," Rosalina said with a smile before waving at them.
Julius nodded before adding, "Yeah, and don’t go outside. Those pointy-eared bastards are still around. Ahh... I wish I could get my hands on that ancestor of theirs. I would’ve beaten the crap out of him for teaching them to hate us humans so much."
Julius gritted his teeth as he continued muttering, his complaints gradually turning into complete nonsense as he vented his frustration about the Zlycons.
The sight of him getting worked up over something that had nothing to do with their immediate departure was apparently too amusing for Sylviana, and a soft giggle escaped her lips.
Julius glanced toward her and paused for a moment before shrugging it off.
"Anyway, we’re going."
Rosalina smiled helplessly before grabbing Julius and pulling him along with her. Julius allowed himself to be dragged away, though he continued muttering about the Zlycons for another few moments before finally quieting down.
"Take care!" Leon called after them.
Sylviana also raised her hand and waved, though both she and Leon looked slightly nervous as they watched the two leave.
There was something unspoken between the two of them, something neither seemed quite ready to acknowledge yet, but neither of them looked as distant as they had before.
Julius and Rosalina soon rose into the air and flew toward the deeper parts of the forest, leaving the tree house behind them.
The enormous trees gradually swallowed their figures as they disappeared into the distance, heading toward the place Destiny had revealed to Julius and whatever awaited them there.
