Villainess Rampage: The Whole Sect Begs for Mercy

Chapter 523 - 530: The Senior’s Request

  • Next Chapter

The bloody scene vanished once more, leaving only a desolate wasteland.

A figure flickered in and out of view within the boundless white mist. It was the same man from before, the one who had wielded a long blade and attacked without end.

He looked wretched. There wasn’t a single uninjured spot on his body—it was covered in bloody gashes and chunks of fallen flesh.

His blood-red eyes were locked onto Song Wanning, a frantic yet fervent anticipation swirling within them.

"You’re finally here!"

As if he had long anticipated someone’s arrival, he flickered and appeared before Song Wanning, his expression wrought with excitement.

"You’re finally here!"

He repeated, and the next second, the glimmer of tears welled up in his eyes.

Sensing no hostility from him, Song Wanning didn’t shy away. "You were waiting for me?"

"Yes, I was waiting for you!"

The man’s expression grew serious, the excitement finally draining from his face.

"This is a time-space fragment. And you... you were brought here by one."

"You don’t belong to this time, do you?"

In a single breath, he had laid bare Song Wanning’s origins.

A sense of apprehension rose in Song Wanning’s heart. ’Who in the world is this man? How could he know all this?’

"Don’t be afraid. I simply have a rather deep understanding of the Time Attribute."

The man smiled. With a raise of his hand, another time-space fragment materialized before her.

Seeing the familiar fragment, Song Wanning’s heart skipped a beat.

The man continued, "You must be wondering how I know all this..."

"Years ago, I too stumbled into a spatial tunnel and witnessed the river of time... But alas, I was slow-witted. It took me nearly half a lifetime to comprehend the mysteries of the Time Attribute and break free from the time-space fragment."

"But when I emerged, I found the world had changed completely."

As he said this, a flash of hatred crossed his eyes.

"War had broken out everywhere, but my wife was missing. I asked for news of them everywhere, searched for them everywhere... I finally managed to learn they might have gone to the Demon Clan Territory, but before I could even begin my search, the great war erupted!"

"As a member of the Human Clan, I had no choice but to join the fight. I died a brutal death on the battlefield, and only this wisp of my Divine Thought managed to hide within a time-space fragment, waiting for someone with fate on their side to arrive and help me fulfill my final wish!"

The man’s gaze toward Song Wanning grew fervent once more. "My wife was of the Demon Race, and her talent was poor. After hundreds of thousands of years, she has surely perished."

"But my child is different. Her talent was quite good. Even if she never ascended, she must have had descendants of her own..."

As he spoke, he took out a time-space fragment and placed it in Song Wanning’s hand.

"I want to ask you to find my child’s descendant and give this time-space fragment to them."

"In return, I can pass on my entire understanding of the Time Attribute to you."

"You will be able to leave this place very soon."

The man laid out his request and the reward, giving Song Wanning almost no chance to respond.

Song Wanning fell silent for a moment after hearing his tale. ’So, it was because of this senior that I ended up in a time-space fragment.’

"Senior, have no others entered this place in all these years?"

’The great war was so long ago.’

’Trying to find his descendant would be like searching for a needle in a haystack.’

’Besides, his child might not have even left behind any descendants...’

"No, you are the first."

The man’s somber voice rang out. He had waited for so, so long, which was why he had been so emotional upon seeing Song Wanning.

"The Time Attribute is far too profound and obscure. Some spend their entire lives without comprehending the slightest bit of it. Anyone who can enter a time-space fragment must be either blessed with immense fortune or favored by the Heavenly Dao."

He himself had been such a person. Unfortunately, he was trapped in the fragment for so long that by the time he got out, everything had changed.

Thinking of this, he urged, "I don’t want you to follow in my footsteps. Agreeing to my terms will benefit us both!"

He was clearly far more anxious than Song Wanning.

Song Wanning sensed his desperation, but she remained skeptical. ’He’s a complete stranger. I can’t be sure if he’s telling the truth.’

"I’m afraid this won’t be easy. To find someone after hundreds of thousands of years... it’s more difficult than ascending to the heavens..."

Her expression was hesitant. Of course, she was eager to both leave the time-space fragment and comprehend the Time Attribute.

’But if I can’t fulfill my promise, it could become a mental block that hinders my future ascension...’

’Then again, if I try to comprehend it on my own, who knows how many years that could take...’

’I can’t afford to wait that long.’

Now, Song Wanning was truly in a bind.

But the man’s expression was calm as he said with a smile, "That’s not a problem. I can create a bloodline beacon that can guide you to their general location."

"If there are truly no descendants left, you don’t need to force the issue."

"It would simply mean my bloodline was fated to end..."

’His descendant could be in the Spirit Realm, or perhaps even the Immortal Realm.’

’If this path through Song Wanning didn’t work out, perhaps there was still other hope.’

’But if his line truly had ended, he would have no one to blame...’

"Young lady, help me with this, and I will get you out of this fragment."

"Don’t end up like me, trapped in a fragment for millennia, unable to get in or out..."

Only he knew the torment of being trapped in this fragment.

The man’s expression was sincere, his eyes filled with anticipation.

Song Wanning knew this was a rare opportunity, and she finally agreed.

’I have to travel to the lands of the Demon Race anyway, so I might as well give it a try.’

"Then this junior will do my utmost. I hope I can help you fulfill your wish, Senior!"

She agreed with solemn gravity, and the man was instantly moved to tears.

"Good, good, good!!"

He finally had a sliver of hope, and his eyes shone with a frightening intensity.

"In that case, allow me to grant you another boon. I only ask that if my descendant has fallen on hard times, you help them out a bit!"

The man wasn’t a fool; he had taken note of Song Wanning’s talent and fortune.

He hoped that if he truly had a descendant, they could ride on some of Song Wanning’s good fortune and successfully meet with him.

With that, his expression turned solemn. He waved his hand, and Song Wanning’s vision went black as she felt herself moving at great speed.

When she opened her eyes again, she was in a completely new place.

"What is this?"

Song Wanning stared at the pool before her, her eyelids twitching for some unknown reason.

"This is an Immortal Washing Pool! It’s the first place cultivators from the Lower World arrive after they ascend. There are many such pools, however. Each person’s ascension path is different, so they enter a different Immortal Washing Pool."

A smile touched the man’s features. "Once you enter the Immortal Washing Pool and are cleansed by the Immortal Qi, your Dantian and meridians will all be expanded, and the strength of your body will increase dramatically."

"You’ll even have the strength to contend with Mahayana cultivators!"

"Go!"

He waved his hand, and Song Wanning fell straight into the Immortal Washing Pool.

Instantly, countless streams of Immortal Qi swarmed toward her, boring into her body.
