Serina and Miona stood silently in the doorway for several seconds, and somehow, that silence felt heavier than any shouting could have.

Lenox and Corlan both stiffened the moment they realized how much the sisters had probably heard.

Miona was the first to move. She stepped forward slowly, her face completely blank, but the killing intent leaking from her body was anything but calm. "So... let me get this straight."

Her eyes locked onto Lenox and Corlan. "So you’re telling me you found us when we were babies, then watched our entire lives from the shadows... letting us grow up, letting us know what it felt like to have a family and be loved by our parents..."

Miona’s voice began trembling with rage. "And all that time, you were just waiting for the right fucking moment to kill them?"

Corlan opened his mouth, clearly wanting to explain something.

"SHUT THE FUCK UP!" Miona roared.

Her voice thundered through the air, causing the surroundings to tremble as her killing intent exploded outward.

Miona then laughed suddenly, but there was absolutely no humor in it. "You know what’s funny? We spent years blaming ourselves."

Serina’s expression changed slightly.

Miona continued, "We thought maybe we were too weak. Maybe if we had noticed something earlier, maybe if we had gotten stronger faster, maybe if we hadn’t been there... they would still be alive."

Her hands clenched so tightly that her nails cut into her palms. "And now you two stroll in here and tell us it was all planned?"

Serina finally stepped forward. Unlike Miona, her voice remained quiet and controlled, but there was a hint of killing intent beneath every word.

Her pale expression stayed composed, though her eyes were slowly beginning to redden. "So our parents never had a chance, did they?"

She paused for a moment before continuing, "From the moment they took us in as their adopted children... their deaths had already been decided, hadn’t they?"

Neither man answered, and that silence was more than enough of an answer.

Serina smiled faintly. It was also the coldest smile Damian had ever seen from her, cold enough to make even him feel a slight chill.

She looked at Lenox and Corlan as though they were nothing more than insects. "You two really are impressive."

Miona turned toward her sister in surprise.

Serina continued softly, "To spend decades manipulating two children, murdering innocent people, arranging suffering from the shadows... all for an inheritance you don’t even know the true value of."

Her smile widened slightly, but her voice only grew colder. "That isn’t good planning at all. It’s just a fucking pathetic plan."

Corlan’s face darkened.

Lenox frowned as well, but neither man dared respond aggressively while Damian and Cassandra were sitting nearby.

Miona immediately laughed. "Hah! Exactly!"

She pointed at both men. "You bastards spent half your lives playing some grand fucking game, and in the end you still had to come here and politely ask us for help."

Her grin became vicious. "How does that feel?"

Cassandra’s lips slowly curled upward as she liked this girl more every second.

Corlan finally lost some patience. "You should understand that without us, you wouldn’t even know what you are."

Miona’s expression instantly changed. "What did you just say?"

Serina’s eyes narrowed as well.

Corlan realized too late that he had chosen the worst possible words.

Miona stepped forward. "Without you?"

Her Water Qi suddenly exploded outward as she roared, "WITHOUT YOU?!"

The ground beneath her feet cracked as a violent blue aura erupted around her.

Serina’s expression also finally shattered.

Her normally controlled Water Qi burst free at the same time, elegant at first, then becoming increasingly violent as her emotions overwhelmed her restraint.

Damian immediately stood, Cassandra’s crimson eyes sharpening at the same time. Across from them, Lenox and Corlan also rose to their feet, instinctively preparing themselves.

Miona’s voice exploded through the air. "OUR PARENTS WOULD STILL BE ALIVE WITHOUT YOU!"

Serina’s composure finally cracked, her voice trembling for the first time. "You took everything from us... manipulated our entire lives... killed the people who raised us... and you still think we should be grateful?"

Then even Serina lost control. "WHO THE FUCK DO YOU THINK YOU ARE?!"

At that exact moment, both sisters’ auras suddenly changed, and Damian’s eyes widened as he realized, it fucking happened.

Water erupted from every direction.

Miona barely had time to look down before a massive sphere of dark-blue water formed around her body.

Serina was simultaneously engulfed by a second cocoon, lighter and clearer, almost glowing with pale aqua radiance.

Within seconds, both sisters disappeared completely, and in their place, two enormous water cocoons appeared.

Lenox and Corlan’s eyes widened at the same time as they shouted, "They awakened!"

For the first time since arriving, genuine excitement appeared on both men’s faces.

Lenox looked toward Damian immediately. "Sir Black Dragon, we need to move now."

Damian glanced at him. "Now?"

Corlan nodded quickly. "The awakening has started. According to the ancient records, this is the correct stage to bring them to the inheritance site."

Cassandra suddenly stood, no longer caring about restraint as killing intent surged from her body. But before she could do anything, Damian caught her wrist.

She frowned and turned toward him, but Damian only leaned closer and whispered, "Not yet..."

Cassandra’s eyes narrowed, yet Damian continued calmly, "Don’t worry. We’ll deal with them later. After making our sisters this angry, do you really think I’m letting them walk away alive? Just hold it in for now."

Hearing that, Cassandra finally calmed down and did as Damian said.

This wasn’t the time to deal with Lenox and Corlan yet; the sisters had just awakened.

From what Cassandra could sense, their awakening felt somewhat similar to her own Blood Festival.

That meant Serina and Miona probably needed a massive amount of energy next.

For now, following the two cultivators to the inheritance site was clearly the best choice.

Damian smiled when Cassandra finally backed down. Soon, the two enormous water cocoons containing the sisters were taken along as they followed Lenox and Corlan toward the inheritance site.

As they moved, Damian spread his arms and grinned. "Finally... now I can find out what the hell I missed in their Destiny Story."
