Chapter 317 317
Friday, September 8th, 2045
Nightingale Auditorium, Central Square, Noxville, Netheria.
Today was one of the biggest days in Netherian History, and to mark this day, thousands of the most prestigious people pm Gaia had gathered here at the biggest Auditorium in the entire world, the one that was already considered the 21st Modern Wonder.
Amongst the people gathered inside the auditorium today were the Royal Five of Europe, the Royal Family of Persia, the Emirs of Arabia, the Royals of Eastern Asia, the Presidents or Prime Ministers of some of the most powerful countries in the world, and the Governor General of Netheria together with all five of his Deputy Governor Generals.
The events were already in full swing, and inside the main hall, the holographic projections of the City of Night were constantly being played, and with every new Sector of the City of Night unveiled, the crowd cheered and clapped in marvel.
Those billions of people across the world who were watching everything live from their homes were no different.
Everything about Noxville Netheria was a modern wonder of the world, and when the abridged aerial drone shots were played on the screens, everyone gasped at how majestic this place looked from the sky.
Though the Business City had been active for the last year, the people who worked there had not been allowed to see around the city. So, they were all excited too right now, and most of their families were currently being given a tour around the place or enjoying their time in the world’s biggest Amusement Park.
The main entertainment square was filled with people who had managed to get their hands on the first-day passes, and most of these people were here to attend the concert that was going to take place in the evening, where Alana Storm was going to perform together with the Prince of Sameran.
Speaking of the Prince, he was currently inside the Auditorium, in a hall that was filled with people who were even more important and powerful than those who were sitting inside the Main Hall.
These people included the Mortal Gods from various pantheons who were present in this world. There were also some of the most prominent figures in the Underworld, including the Heads of the Ancient Vampire and Werewolf Houses and Clans, the Head Priest of the Temple of Dionysus, and the Lords of the City of Sin.
In the Hall adjacent to the one where the people of the Underworld were gathered, sat some of the Heads of the most powerful and prestigious Ancient Families in the world, including the Mirs of Pahalgam and the Arya or Dehradun. They were all gathered here today for the Decennial Ancient Conference, which was being hosted by the Mir of Pahalgam after Keith had suggested it to them.
It was an opportunity for all the Ancient Families that could attend this conference to make some very useful acquaintances, and therefore, not one of them missed this chance.
Funnily enough, the Ancient Qin family was part of this Conference too, and they had come here as well.
The Ancient Qin were one of the three oldest Ancient Families of China, and the family Qin Feng, the Child of Destiny and Inheritor of Hades, hailed from. Unfortunately, he had not come here today, but he had expressed his apology in form of a very amusing letter that Keith had received earlier in the morning.
Of course, it was because his Qin Family was going to come here as well, which was why he had decided to give up on the chance to come to Netheria and attend this event.
Even though there were no major differences between them, and Qin Feng was not going to amuse Keith with his family drama or reveal to the people that he was related to the Ancient Qin of China. And Keith had expected all of this.
Done greeting the Mortal Gods and the people of the Underworld, he left the Hall, leaving Rebecca as the Host, and arrived to meet Ancient Families as their Conference had just ended.
“Lord Erebus.” The former Head and now the Grand Elder of the Mir Family, who was an aged man appearing to be in his late fifties, but in truth, a man over a hundred years old, a Powerhouse who was currently in the Primal Desolation Realm, greeted Keith when he approached him with a very bright and sincere smile. And in front of everyone, he deeply bowed to the Mortal God.
“Dr. Eshin.” Keith smiled back at him and shook his hand. “I am glad to see that you are in good health.” He said and then turned to look at the old man who was standing right behind Eshin. “Dr. Harud.” He called out to him, and the man’s eyes turned misty in an instant and he deeply bowed to him, refusing to stand straight.
Harud was the son of Eshin, the current Head of the Mir Family, and the grandfather of Mir Kashish, a Heroine of Destiny.
“How are you faring?” He politely asked and Harud’s body shook a little when another wave of gratitude washed over him.
“I am forever indebted to you, Lord Erebus.”
Harud knew that if it was not for Keith who saved him two years ago, he would be dead by now, and his death would have possibly led to a war within the Family over the position of the Head, which would have immensely weakened them.
“How did the Conference go?” He asked, and Harud stood straight back up and gave him a summary of the Conference without divulging any of the very important matters discussed here.
Of course, it was only out of courtesy and respect towards the other Ancient Families that he did not bring those things up.
Unfortunately for them, Keith had listened to everything that was discussed in this Hall today. Not that it mattered much since nothing concerned him.
Seeing him chat so casually with the Mir Family gave some courage to the rest, and one by one, they all took the opportunity to greet him and make acquaintances with him.
Keith had asked the Mir Family to reveal his identity as the Inheritor of Erebus to all of them, and so, everyone greeted him as the Lord of the Darkness and they were very enthusiastic to meet him.
The reason why he had done this was to make his future dealings with them convenient and to keep them in their places in case of some future confrontations. But a major reason why he had done this was to let a certain family know what belonged to him.
“I have heard a lot about your Profound knowledge of Medicine, Dr Viraj.” Keith smiled at an old man, who was the Grand Elder of the Arya of Dehradun, the family that the Child of Destiny he was going to deal with next belonged to. “They say you are the best Doctor in the World.”
“I am honoured by their words, but I am sure there might be some people even better than me out there.” He politely said, not really meaning these words since he was very confident about his Knowledge and Skill, but unbeknownst to him, what he had just said was indeed true.
His Knowledge and Skill were nothing compared to Keith or even Rebecca, and there were a few more people in the world whom Viraj had not even heard of, who were older and more skilled than him in Medicine.
The members of the Arya Family were quite happy that Keith was treating their Grand Elder quite courteously, and they were relieved to know that they could get on good terms with him as well just like how the Mir had managed it.
On the other side, the members of the Mir Family were a little depressed at seeing him show their adversary such courtesy, but none showed it on their faces as they had no right to ask him to not do it.
Once Keith was done greeting everyone and informed them that they could join the members of Underworld at the lunch, he walked over to the Mir Family with a smile.
“I was hoping to ask your opinion on a matter.” He said, catching everyone’s attention, and surprising Eshin and Harud.
“Please say, Lord Erebus.”
“I intend to court your granddaughter, Kashish and make her my concubine,” He said to the old man, shocking him, but Eshin smiled brighter than ever when he heard those words.
He had been hoping for this to happen ever since the day his great-grandchild had managed to bring Keith to treat his son, and his dream had come true today.
It did not matter if Kashish would be his concubine or his official wife. What mattered was that she was going to find herself a husband in the best Doctor in the World, and to add to it, a Mortal God. With their union, the Mir Family would become more prestigious and untouchable to the rest of the Ancient Families of the world.
On the other side of the room, the head and Grand Elder of the Arya Family, who had been holding certain thoughts in their mind, sighed in their hearts. They were relieved too that they had not approached Mir regarding Kashish, after all, they did not want to fall over with a Mortal God for a young girl.
Now, they would have to think of another way to formalise an alliance with the Mir Family, which they previously intended to make to take advantage of them after they lose their Head, but now they wanted to make an alliance so that they could truly be on good terms with the Mir, putting behind their past and making the competition between them healthier.
“We are honoured, Lord Erebus!” Harud spoke as soon as he regained his composure and brightly smiled.
He was quite relieved in his heart that his granddaughter had found herself such a powerful and capable spouse.
“I will talk to her.” He promised.
“No.” Keith shook his head. “I wish to take my time and court her heart first.” He told him, and Harud felt even more grateful in his heart as he found Keith showing them immense respect to them by telling them beforehand about his intention. It was his sincerity towards the prized and talented daughter of their family and towards them.
Harud knew that his daughter was a very wise girl, and given Keith’s talent and charm, he was not worried that she would not respond to his feelings. He was confident thay she would never make a poor decision.
