Villain: The Play of Destiny

Chapter 258 258

After a good night in bed, where he simply hugged his Shadow to sleep, Keith woke up to the sight of Yingying meditating and whispering some verses in a Divine Language.

She had stepped into the Primal Desolation a couple of days ago, and it was a very hard time for her as she kept losing and regaining her strength several times a day.

Keith had gifted her a Realm Sealing Ring, which was on her finger, but it could not prevent her from the side effects of entering the Desolation Realm.

As long as she kept meditating and revising these Divine Verses, the process would be faster and smoother, but right now, she could not do much about it.

It was also the reason why he had not been keeping her by his side in the last few days. She was ordered by him to stay at the Mansion with Iseul and Minami and to only focus on her Cultivation. And despite all her reluctance, she obediently followed his arrangements.

After a quick shower and half an hour later, ready for the day, Keith exited the room and closed the door behind him.

He was greeted by the frantic screams of a couple of young girls, which were coming from the main living room downstairs, but he was unhurried in his steps as he could hear exactly what was happening.

“Amira, save me!!!” Reina screamed when the small furry creature started chasing after her and jumped on her frock, which made her jump and scream in fear.

But her dear sister was dealing with a similar creature, who was making her run in circles around the couches in the room.

Iseul was there too in the room, sitting on a couch cross-legged, where she was eating popcorn and laughing at the plight of the two sisters.

“Brother!” Reina immediately rushed towards him when he descended the spiral staircase and entered the living room.

“Good morning.” He could not help his chuckles when she saw tears running out of her eyes.

“Save me!” She pleaded as soon as she hugged him, and it made him chuckle some more.

“From what?” He asked back.

“The squirrel!” She replied and her body trembled at her own words.

“There’s no squirrel on you.” He plainly said.

“It’s on my back!” b𝚍ov𝚕.𝚝

“No. It is not.” He assured her, and she finally stopped shaking, trying to feel the little monster’s presence on her back.

Reina carefully opened her eyes and separated from his body, but as soon as she looked up, she screamed again.

“Eeee!!!” She jumped back and gained her distance from him. “They are on your shoulders.”

“I know.” He chuckled and then smiled at Amira, who had calmed down a little.

As soon as he came downstairs, the one chasing after the older girl rushed to him and climbed on his left shoulder, and the one on the right was the one who was clutching Reina’s frock.

These were two cute little creatures, the black and spotted Netherian Dwarf Flying Squirrels.

Watching Keith pet the two Squirrels, who leaned into his finger that scratched their heads, the twins finally frowned.

“They are yours?” Amira nervously asked.

“They are wild.” He shook his head. “And they were just playing with you.” He told them.

His words resulted in Iseul laughing heartily, which made the twins frown more and narrow their eyes at her.

“They will bite you…” Reina apprehensively said when the two Squirrels started chasing after each other on Keith’s body.

“They are harmless.” He chuckled. “When have you seen a squirrel attack a human?”

“I saw it in a documentary,” Reina informed him. “One squirrel bit the leg of a child, and it would not stop bleeding…” She trembled as she recalled what she saw.

“I see.” He understandably nodded and then smiled at the two creatures who jumped off his body and ran away towards the Kitchen. “Well, these Dwarf Squirrels don’t bite like that. You don’t have to be scared of them.” He planted kisses on their heads before walking to the couch and sitting next to Iseul.

“Couldn’t wait for breakfast?” He asked and snatched the bowl of popcorn before taking a mouthful of them.

“Mine!” Iseul did not like his action one bit and lunged at him to snatch back her popcorn.

Keith allowed her to take the bowl back and then planted a kiss on her head.

“Go help Minami in the kitchen.” He turned to look at the twins and said.

“But…” Reina was taken aback by his command, but soon nervousness crept in as the two Squirrels had gone into the kitchen as well.

“They are harmless.” He assured them again, and both of them reluctantly nodded their heads before cautiously walking toward the kitchen.

“Did anything interesting happen?” He asked as soon as the twins left.

“Mathew’s men tried to upload the video on the Internet multiple times. Now NSS is after them.” She giggled.

“Ouch…” He chuckled and then grabbed some more popcorn from her bowl. “Did you instruct them?”

“Yes.” She nodded to him before turning around, protecting her bowl of popcorn from him.

At the same time, in the Mystich City Hospital, a handsome young man opened his eyes after a night-long rest.

There was a smile on his lips as the beautiful dream he just had lingered in his mind, but soon he frowned when he saw the worried expressions of one of his bodyguards.

And to add to his nervousness, Albert, the butler of the Oscar Family, was present in the ward too.

“What happened?” He asked, but Rico nervously looked at Albert instead of answering him.

“Young Master.” Albert seriously looked him in the eyes. “Did you order your men to upload a video of Keith Demiliore?”

The question froze Mathew and his heart suddenly clutched in a bad premonition.

“The Police found out?”

“It’s not the Police.” Albert sighed. “There are two agents of the National Security Service outside the room, waiting to have a chat with you. Master Oscar is already under their custody. And the rest of your men and everyone who was involved in your plan has been arrested as well.”

“What?!”

Mathew’s face turned pale at Albert’s words, and he felt chills run up his spine.

Dealing with the Police was one thing, but NSS was not an organisation that Oscar Family could even argue with.

A sudden knock on the door of the ward shook him, but Mathew managed to school his expressions before two men entered the room.

“Good morning, Mr. Frost.” A middle-aged woman, who was in great shape, smiled at him. It was clear from her posture that she was a soldier.

“Excuse us.” The man who entered with her was in his late twenties, wore a pair of glasses, and he indifferently told Rico and Albert to get out of the room.

The butler wanted to stay and was a little hesitant to leave Mathew alone with them, but in the end, he could only sigh and leave the ward.

“My name is Angela, and this is my partner, Derik.” The woman showed him her badge and then took the chair her partner had pulled for her. “You were warned yesterday to not do anything stupid, and you promised you would not do it. Or did the two Police Officers not make it clear enough to you that you must not do or say anything that would go against the official report about the incident on Flower Street?”

She was not here to inquire him about anything, and her words made it clear that the NSS knew everything he was up to.

“You are in big trouble, Mr. Frost.” Angela harmlessly smiled. “Your men tried to upload a copy of camera footage of the incident on seven social media platforms last night. And then, after they found out that the platforms did not accept the video, they tried to upload it on the Dark Web.”

Mathew stayed silent after he heard those words and his heart was already cold.

It was clear that NSS was on alert and they dealt with the videos before they even made it on the Internet.

“Why is the Government trying to save him?” He unwillingly asked. “Why don’t you investigate why he was there and if he was involved in the kidnapping attempt on those two girls? He murdered those people in cold blood!”

“We ask the questions, Mr. Frost.” Derik coldly said. “Do you even realise what is going to happen to you and your family?”

“Your grandfather has been arrested on grounds of treason, Mr. Frost. And all the illegal things he has committed in his life and managed to hide from the law are going to come out in the light.” The woman informed him, and Mathew felt like his soul was about to leave his body.

“That’s outrageous!” He shouted.

“No, Mr Frost. Your intentions were outrageous.” Angela smiled at him. “You have 24 hours to convince Mr. Demiliore to not pursue the matter. However, there will still be consequences for your action even if he agrees to let you off.” She clearly told him.

“All the illegal forces of your Family will be completely dismantled by the end of the day. Your business accounts have been frozen, and in case you attempt to leave the city, you will be hunted down.” Derik too smiled at him, seemingly amused by the prospect of hunting him.

“Have a nice day.” Angela stood up and then left the room with her partner.

Mathew was left alone in the room, and his head was now getting dizzy.

“What have I done?” He asked himself before he closed his eyes.

Albert and Rico entered the ward and worriedly looked at his pale face.

“Young Master…”

“We have to convince him to not pursue the matter,” Mathew told Albert, and his words relieved the butler a lot.

There was still some hope.

“You will have to personally apologise to Master Demiliore.”

“I know.” Mathew clenched his left fist. “Let’s go…” He opened his eyes and then sat up, wincing at the pain in his shoulder.
