Chapter 173 173

Eden State Hospital, Eden, Netheria 𝐞𝐨𝘃𝐞𝐥.
Three black BMW cars stopped at the front door of the hospital building, and Keith got out together with the ladies before heading straight inside the lobby.
The body of Lin Wudao was still in the custody of the Capitol Police and had not been handed over to the Lin Family yet.
Qingyue, together with Amelia, Kiara, Ingrid, Ayesha, and Sebastian was there, and the tall young man, immediately stepped forward when he saw his Master arriving.
“Young Master!” Sebastian bowed to him, and the Heir of the Demiliore Family nodded before grabbing Celine’s arm, who was about to enter the private lounge to see her daughter.
“She needs you, so you must not drown in sorrow together with her.” He seriously said to her. “Be strong.”
She obediently nodded to him before entering the lounge together with Rebecca and Marianne. Only Yingying stayed out with him and Sebastian.
Though he had managed to keep her distracted on the flight, as soon as she had woken up after their love-making session, she was washed with immense guilt for indulging in her carnal desires when her daughter was utterly devasted in grief.
“Come with me,” Keith said to Sebastian before the three of them took the lift and walked out on the rooftop, where Ayesha was sitting on the parapet, smoking as she looked up at the night sky and the terrifying dark clouds.
Their arrival caught her attention, and her heart skipped a beat when she found him smiling at her, but then Keith just looked away and engaged Sebastian in a talk whilst Yingying obediently stood by their side.
After finishing whatever he was talking about, he climbed onto the parapet and sat right next to her, curiously looking down at the street which was more than a hundred metres away.
“Not scared of heights?”
“Never been.” She shook her head. “You?”
“It’s a safe fall for me.” He smirked and shrugged his shoulders, and even though he was being honest, she scoffed and took another puff of her cigarette.
There was a peaceful silence between them and as soon as her cigarette finished, she pulled another one from the case and lit it up.
“When are you leaving?” She lightly asked but he could feel the fluctuations in her voice.
Keith knew that this silly girl was now more addicted to him than the cigarettes she smoked.
“On the morning of the 5th of December.” He replied and smiled when she lightly nodded her head.
Ayesha frowned when his watch suddenly vibrated and he prepared to get up to deal with something. And when she displeasedly turned to look at him, her lips were captured by him in a sweet kiss.
He smiled and nudged his nose with hers before looking into her eyes.
“I will be back safe and sound. And then I will make it up to you for all the wait.” He devilishly smiled as he watched her tremble under his words.
Her fair cheeks warmed up in her blush and she nodded her head before looking away from him.
When Keith passed by the private lounge where the ladies were, he found Qingyue walking towards him with a pale face. He did not say anything and just opened his arms for her, which she jumped into, burying her face in his chest, holding him with all her might.
“They would not even let me see him, Keith…” She complained as he comfortingly soothed her back.
“Come, I will take you to see him.” He said to her, which surprised her and she raised her head to look at him. “I am serious. Come.”
“Please…”
“Yes. I will check and tell you if it was natural as they say or if someone was involved.” He assured her without her needing to request him to do it.
Qingyue obediently followed him down to the morgue, and when they passed by the last corridor, she came to a halt when she found the members of the Lin Family present there.
Her blood boiled in rage when she caught sight of the despicable man whom she once used to address as her father, but her heart calmed down when she felt Keith squeeze her hand.
Lin Houtian frowned at their intimacy, clearly displeased by him holding her hand, but he was quite restrained nowadays because of all the scandals that surrounded him. And so, he wisely kept quiet and turned to look away.
“You are not allowed to go in.” Someone called from behind them when they passed by the Lin Family, and Keith stopped and turned to look back at the boy who had spoken those words.
“Heir Demiliore,” The boy, who was of average height, politely greeted him with a slight bow. “My name is Zihan, I am Miss Qingyue’s younger brother.”
“And?” Keith indifferently asked, which put the boy in an awkward position.
“The Police are not allowing the Family to see the body just yet. I thought I should inform you.” The boy tried to appear calm, and he did very well.
“Thank you for being so kind.” He indifferently smiled before continuing to walk down the corridor.
The members of the Lin Family were surprised when the constables at the door of the morgue saluted Keith and allowed him and Qingyue to enter without saying a word.
Lin Zihan felt embarrassed when he saw the scene and exchanged a glance with his father, who was visibly quite upset with what he had just witnessed.
The Family of the deceased was not allowed to enter the morgue, but a stranger was allowed in. No matter what the reason behind it was, it was a reflection of the standing and the difference between the Demiliore Family and the Lin Family.
However, Houtian bore this embarrassment too. He was quite used to it now. And then again, it was a happy day for him.
Qingyue shed tears of grief when she watched the stiffened and pale body of her grandfather. It was inside a glassed cabin, and a few physicians were inside together with Keith, who was taking a look at all the reports of the examination.
Next to her, a man in a black uniform was standing, whom she was not acquainted with, but Keith had told her that he belonged to the Special Forces, and was here to keep a check on everything under his request.
Half an hour later, after Keith had gone through the files and checked the dead body himself, he exited the cabin and approached her.
“Keith…” She needed an answer from him, and her already aching heart was prepared for the worst.
“He was not murdered.” He told her that he found no signs of any foul play and that her grandfather had died a natural death.
Qingyue felt like a weight on her heart had been lifted and she hugged him, holding him tight for a good minute.
“May I see him?”
“Yes.” He nodded to her and led her inside the cabin.
Keith patiently waited for the grey-eyed girl to take a good look at her grandfather, and he was impressed by how quickly she managed to get a grip on her nerves.
After he gave his permission, the physicians prepared the discharge papers for the body and the two of them exited the morgue.
Qingyue frowned when she saw Lin Houtian trying to talk with her mother, who was consoling Haoran and Meiyin, and she angrily walked up and stood between them.
“Are you satisfied now? Or has he told you that I killed my own father?”
She froze when she heard Houtian say those words, and if was not for her mother who had suddenly grabbed her hand, she would have hit the man in the face for what he had just said.
Lin Houtian grinned when he saw the anger reflecting in her daughter’s eyes.
“President Lin died of natural causes and the Hospital will let you take the body back to Sameran in a while,” Keith informed them, and then under the eyes of the Lin Family grabbed Qingyue’s hand and led her away.
Celine spoke some words in consolation to Meiyin and Haoran before following after them.
“Let’s go and find something to eat. I am hungry.” He said to ladies who were waiting for them in the main lobby.
Qingyue had not eaten anything since she received the news about the demise of her grandfather. Kiara and Amelia had been with her all the time, and they needed to eat too.
However, before they could leave the Hospital, Qingyue received a call from someone, and a few minutes later, the lawyer of her grandfather arrived to meet her.
She excused herself away as the two of them discussed something, and then Qingyue read some documents before she signed them.
Keith did not inquire about what those documents were, but she told everyone on her own accord that those documents concerned the Will of her grandfather.
Lin Wudao had 25% shares of the Lin Group of Industries under his name, and personal assets worth Billions of Neris.
According to his last will, which he had made a couple of months ago, he named Qingyue as the Heir to his personal assets, which included houses, land, cars, an Island, and a private jet. Lin Haoran, the Heir of the Lin Family was going to receive those 25% shares in the Family business. However, Qingyue was going to keep them under her custody until her brother finishes his studies.
She wanted to go and inform Haoran about it personally, but Keith suggested that she invite Haoran over for dinner and talk with him away from Lin Houtian, Meiyin, and Zihan. She did as he suggested and over dinner at a nearby restaurant, she talked with Haoran about the Will of their Grandfather.
Lin Haoran was quite relieved that his Grandfather had not left his shares in the hands of his father. Recently, he had seen how much Houtian preferred Zihan over him, and the half-brother had already joined their family business to help their father. He knew that if the shares fell into the hands of Lin Houtian, he might never receive anything.
At least, now he had 25% of shares in the Family business under his name, and he was not too bothered about Qingyue taking care of them for the next few years. Part of the reason behind it was that he wanted and needed Qingyue and Keith’s help in the future to deal with Zihan. And he knew Qingyue’s character that she would never swallow his share of wealth, and though he would never say it openly, he trusted her much more than he trusted his own mother.
