Villain Seduces to Rise in Status
Chapter 203 - The Man in the Royal Bed [4]
"This entire landmass, which now encompasses all five continents, was once our kingdom of sorts. Well, it was destroyed down to this size. Otherwise it would be at least ten to fifteen times bigger than it is now."
’Ten to fifteen times... were our ancestors that big of a deal? Well, they were real dragons, so... heh...’
Sirius continued, "To sum it up, we were nearly on the brink of destruction. So we had to do something, and well..."
"Well, what? Continue it! Come on."
"Sigh. Do you know this world, or rather this planet, has a will of its own too?"
Cale thought for a second, then nodded. "That’s possible. There’s a heavenly will, so it’s not surprising that the world would have one too."
"Hm. So do you know what the world’s will does?"
"Huh? Doesn’t it just... exist? Help creatures grow and stuff?"
Sirius nodded. "That’s half correct. The main task of the world’s will is to ensure the survival of the races. Even if the planet itself is destroyed, it should somehow help the races survive in some way. How the hell do you think, you got that Progenitor body, anyway? It doesn’t even belong to our world."
"Now that I think about it, I always assumed it was a remnant of some invader. But that’s a possibility too, huh... no, wait. Were you people really that close to extinction!"
Sirius smiled. "Of course we were. If I remember correctly, only ten or so were left. With the help of the other nine, along with the world’s will sustaining the race itself, I... was cursed."
Cale narrowed his eyes. "Cursed, you say? How? I don’t sense any curse on you."
"I’m not cursed. I ’am’ the curse itself."
"W-what? Is that how it works? Wasn’t the world’s will helping you guys?"
Sirius shook his head. "It can’t be biased, remember. It can’t go all out and help one side of the coin. So instead of helping, it turned the dragons into humans, making me the first human ever born from dragons."
"That’s... quite crazy."
"Indeed. So in a way, I’m your ancestor too, and I’m cursed never to let the bloodline end. Every time I die, I’ll be reincarnated as another child in the family, of course, once one has a child. Heheh. Don’t order me around if I turn out to be your kid in the next life."
Cale sighed. "Are you sure I should even be hearing all this? I know you said you don’t care, but..."
Sirius simply waved his hand.
"Phew. Alright then, Uncle, what the hell is happening, that all of them are dying?"
Sirius’s expression turned serious. "That brings us to the next part. The bloodline. From the tale I just told you, you should have realized that all descendants should carry the blood, not just a few random ones like me, your father, and you. Right?"
Cale nodded.
"But the capacity to handle it is what decides whether it helps the person or kills them. Anyone without the capacity to hold true dragon blood will likely die around their thirties. You must have thought your father was some kind of pervert, with so many bastards; but unlike you, he only wants the survival of the clan."
"Oi, what do you mean, ’unlike me’?" Cale asked angrily. To think he would blame Cale’s innocent soul like that. Cale had been trying to suppress so many of his carnal instincts these days.
’Hmph, what do you know.’
"Whatever do I mean~"
Sirius continued, "My children are on the safer side, given that they’re mine. But for Ryan, well, you can see how that’s going."
"Hey, why are you talking as if they aren’t your family too?"
"Hahaha, Callisto, aren’t you on the same boat?"
Cale’s eyes widened slightly. He looked up at Sirius. "What about Fiora? Is the problem she’s facing also... no, wait. What about Emma? How the hell do I help their bloodlines?"
Sirius grinned. "Ah, and here I thought you were smart. Fiora did have that problem due to the bloodline, but it isn’t severe enough to lead her to death. And Emma... you should have realized that already."
Cale sighed. "Indeed. The vice headmaster? An elven bloodline? Uncle, you sure know how to make stuff up. Were you trying to gain points with me from that day already?"
Sirius nodded.
Cale leaned back with a sigh.
’He got some elven blood to keep Emma alive just to have this kind of talk with me today. Seriously, this man treats life like some multiple-choice game or something. Haha.’
Cale got up and stretched. "So, Uncle..."
Sirius looked at him.
"Are we both on the... same side? Am I safe to assume that?"
Sirius vanished from his seat and reappeared on the bed, burrowed under the blanket.
"Of course. Do you think I’d have kept you alive just to kill you now? You think I was telling you some last bedtime story or something? YAWWWWNNN... just let me go back to sleep now."
But a greedy grin spread across Cale’s face.
"Dear Unc—"
"Shut up!" Sirius shouted.
"Sigh. I know you have some technique for making avatar bodies. They might be roaming the world right about now... am I correct?"
"Uh-huh." He nodded.
"So give me that technique. Pleaseee~"
Sirius stared at Cale. He had thought he was in control a few moments ago, and nobody would try a stunt like this right after such a talk.
’This kid... seriously, who has he gone after?’
"Oh yeah, why not? I’ll just start feeding you and maybe even carry you around. Go get some techniques yourself, huh. Didn’t you say you got all those soul-refining ones from inheritances? Go get those then."
Cale tsked. "Oh, come on! Why are you so stingy? Aren’t you the king? Where’s your justice?"
"There’s nothing more troublesome than someone who thinks whatever he does is justice."
’Oh, that’s quite a quote.’
"Uncle, this is not the time for cool quotes."
