Chapter 845 Desperate Seduction

Villain Ch 845. Desperate Seduction

Mr. Bell laughed heartily at Sophia’s words. “You surely know how to seduce, Sophia,” he said, his voice filled with playful humor.

Sophia laughed along, pretending it was all a joke. “You surely know how to return my joke, sir,” she replied, keeping her tone light and teasing.

After a moment, Mr. Bell’s expression turned more serious as he addressed her original question. “In all honesty, I don’t know much about Allen. When the agency considers hiring someone, we primarily check if they have a criminal record or any scandals. Both of those came back clean for Allen, so we were happy to take him on, even without a contract.”

Sophia nodded, listening intently. She needed to extract every piece of information she could. “So, he’s basically an open book as far as the agency is concerned?”

Mr. Bell nodded. “Pretty much. What I do know is that he’s a gamer and a freelance photographer. He likes to sell his photographs on the internet. We’ve checked his portfolio, and all of his photos are city landscapes and scenic views.

No models or anything of that sort.”

Sophia’s mind raced. “That’s interesting,” she mused aloud. “It’s always fascinating to see the different talents people have outside of modeling.”

Mr. Bell nodded in agreement. “Indeed. It’s always good to have a backup plan, something else to fall back on. Allen seems to have found his niche.”

This was the first time Sophia had learned that Allen was also a photographer. She recalled a distant memory of him mentioning his dream of buying a good camera and traveling to beautiful places to take photos. They had been together then, and those dreams had seemed so far off, unrealized. It seemed he had pursued this passion after they broke up.

It made her feel a pang of something—jealousy, perhaps, or maybe a wistful regret.

Wanting to know more, Sophia decided to press further. “What about his residence?” she asked casually, trying to keep her tone light.

Mr. Bell frowned slightly and gave her a curious look. “Why do you want to know about his place?”

Sophia quickly shook her head, waving her hand dismissively. “Oh, don’t get me wrong,” she said, chuckling lightly to diffuse any suspicion. “I just noticed that Vivian and Allen seem very close. They almost look like a couple, so I wondered if they might be living together. It’s just curiosity, nothing more.”

This had indeed crossed Sophia’s mind when she couldn’t find Allen at his apartment. The idea that he might have moved in with Vivian gnawed at her. It would explain his sudden absence and why no one seemed to know where he was.

Mr. Bell seemed to consider this for a moment before answering. “As far as I know, they live separately. I haven’t heard anything about them moving in together.”

“I see,” Sophia said, her voice tinged with a hint of disappointment. The information she had gathered so far was still shallow. She needed more details about Allen’s life, but she knew she couldn’t push her luck right now. Glancing at Mr. Bell again, she decided to lay the groundwork for a more favorable relationship with him, one that might yield the information she needed later.

Sophia took a deep breath and, deciding to play the classic card, pretended to trip. As she had anticipated, Mr. Bell instinctively reached out to catch her hand. “Watch out,” he said, steadying her.

This trick didn’t work on Allen, who saw through her ploys, but it seemed to work perfectly on Mr. Bell. She lifted her face to look at him, her eyes locking onto his. “Thank you,” she said softly, letting a grateful smile play on her lips.

She noticed the subtle shift in his expression—something that told her she had successfully caught his attention. ‘Got you,’ she thought triumphantly.

Mr. Bell smiled back, his grip on her hand lingering for just a moment longer than necessary before he released it. “No problem at all, Sophia. Are you alright?”

“Yes, I’m fine,” she replied, straightening up and smoothing her dress. “I guess I’m just a bit clumsy today. Thanks again for catching me.”

Mr. Bell nodded, his demeanor warmer now. “Anytime. Just be careful, okay?”

Sophia smiled, feeling a sense of accomplishment. She had planted the seed about Allen, but now it was time to focus on Mr. Bell. She needed to build rapport and gain his trust, so she decided to shift the conversation towards him.

“You know, Mr. Bell,” she said, her tone turning a touch more personal, “I’ve always admired your work here at the agency. You’ve built such an impressive network and have such a keen eye for talent. How did you get started in this industry?” Experience more on My Virtual Library Empire

Mr. Bell seemed pleased by her interest, and his smile broadened. “Well, it’s a long story, but I started out as an intern at a small agency. I worked my way up, learning everything I could about the business. Over the years, I’ve had the pleasure of working with some truly amazing people and helping to shape many careers.”

“That’s incredible,” Sophia said, her eyes wide with admiration. “It must be so rewarding to see the success of those you’ve helped along the way.”

“It is,” he agreed. “There’s nothing quite like seeing someone you’ve mentored reach their full potential. It makes all the hard work worth it.”

Sophia nodded, genuinely interested. “I’d love to hear more about the projects you’ve worked on. You must have some fascinating stories.”

Mr. Bell launched into a few anecdotes about his career, sharing tales of high-stakes deals, glamorous events, and the occasional behind-the-scenes drama. Sophia listened intently, interjecting with the occasional question or comment to keep him talking. She knew that making him feel valued and respected was key to gaining his trust.

As they continued walking through the hall, Mr. Bell seemed to grow more relaxed and animated. Sophia could tell that he enjoyed having someone to share his experiences with. After a while, he turned to her with a thoughtful look.

“You know, Sophia, you have a real knack for this industry,” he said. “You’re not just talented; you’re also very personable. That’s a rare combination.”

“Thank you, Mr. Bell,” Sophia replied, her smile warm. “That means a lot coming from you.”

He nodded, as if making a decision. “I think you could benefit from broadening your network even further. You should attend more events with some of the top names in the industry. It would be a great opportunity for you to make some valuable connections. How would you feel about attending the next event as my companion?”

Sophia’s eyes lit up. This was exactly the kind of opportunity she had been hoping for. “I would be thrilled,” she said, her excitement genuine.
