Chapter 715 Surreal
Villain Ch 715. Surreal
After about fifteen minutes of conversation, the topic naturally came to a close. The butler, sensing the lull in the discussion, approached Azura with a polite smile.
“Miss Azura, if you’d like, I can show you to one of our guest rooms where you can rest,” the butler offered.
Azura nodded gratefully, rising from her seat. She followed the butler through the grand halls of the mansion. She hadn’t brought any clothes with her, as she hadn’t anticipated the possibility of staying the night. However, she knew that in an emergency, she could borrow clothes from Emma or use the emergency clothing provided by the mansion.
The mansion was well-equipped for such situations, with a range of unisex clothing available in various sizes. These garments were intended for guests who needed clothing for unexpected events or emergencies. Likewise, standard dresses and suits which could be used for certain urgent situations. Such as formal events, parties, or sudden death ceremonies.
But in Azura’s case, she might end up buying some later with Emma. Azura made a mental note to discuss the possibility of making a shopping trip, as they hadn’t gone shopping together in a long time.
They arrived in the guest room. The room boasted the same lavish interior touches that adorned the rest of the mansion, with tasteful furnishings and luxurious fabrics creating an atmosphere of opulence.
The butler guided Azura into the room with a polite smile. “If you need anything, you can ask the servant or me,” he offered graciously before taking his leave.
Alone in the room, Azura took a moment to take in her surroundings. The soft glow of the ambient lighting cast a warm hue over the space, creating a sense of tranquility that was both comforting and inviting. The plush couch beckoned to her, and she eagerly tossed her bag onto its cushions before sinking into the mattress of the bed.
A long exhale escaped her lips. Her eyes drifted upwards, tracing the intricate patterns of the ceiling as she allowed herself to relax completely. The events of the day had been nothing short of surreal, and Azura found herself in need of a moment of respite to process everything that had transpired.
Closing her eyes, Azura let herself be enveloped by the quiet stillness of the room. The soft hum of the air conditioning provided a soothing backdrop to her thoughts, and she found herself drifting into a state of calmness that she hadn’t felt in quite some time.
“This is really an unexpected encounter,” Azura murmured to herself, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips. She couldn’t help but marvel at the serendipity of the situation. Just last night, she had been discussing Allen with Emma, and now here she was, face to face with him in Emma’s mansion. It was almost too surreal to believe.
The unexpected turn of events filled Azura with a sense of happiness and excitement. She hadn’t anticipated being able to meet and chat with Allen so soon after their initial encounter, and the thought left her feeling pleasantly surprised.
But as quickly as her smile appeared, it faltered. A sudden realization dawned on her, causing her expression to shift. “Wait, we are cousins…” she mused aloud, her brows furrowing in contemplation. The familial connection gave her pause, but then she remembered that Allen and Emma were not blood-related.
They had different mothers, which meant that there was no genetic barrier standing between her and Allen.
A renewed sense of hope surged within her, and another smile spread across her lips. “That means I still have a chance with him,” she declared, her voice filled with optimism and excitement. The possibility of a romantic relationship with Allen felt more attainable now that she understood the dynamics of their familial connection—or lack thereof.
With newfound determination, Azura allowed herself to entertain the idea of pursuing a deeper connection with Allen. The thought of getting to know him better filled her with anticipation, and she couldn’t wait to see where their newfound acquaintance would lead.
Azura sat in silence, lost in her thoughts. She reached for a nearby pillow, hugging it tightly as she pondered the situation. However, her moment of contemplation was short-lived. A few seconds later, her smile faded, and she found herself questioning her own thoughts. “Wait! I’m not here for Allen! Stay tuned for updates on empire
Why is he suddenly in my head?” she wondered, her hands instinctively covering her face.
Her original purpose for being at Emma’s mansion was to chat with her and inquire about the devil emperor. However, as she sat there, she realized that her mind kept drifting back to Allen. It was as if he had taken up residence in her thoughts, and she couldn’t shake the feeling.
Frustration welled up inside her. It seemed that both Emma and Allen were reluctant to provide her with the answers she sought. Despite this, Azura found herself oddly unconcerned about the devil emperor. Her focus had shifted entirely to Allen, and she couldn’t deny the attraction she felt towards him.
“I guess I have to take advantage of this opportunity,” Azura thought, a smile slowly returning to her face. She saw this unexpected encounter with Allen as a chance to get to know him better, to explore the connection between them that seemed to be growing stronger with each passing moment.
Meanwhile, Allen also had returned to his room, finding it impeccably neat thanks to Kai’s diligent work. He settled onto the couch, his attention immediately drawn to the row of sleek smartphones lined up before him. Each one was a top-of-the-line model, clearly reflecting the prestige of the Goldborne tech company.
Kai stood before him, ready to provide a detailed rundown of each device’s specifications.
Kai launched into his explanation and Allen listened attentively, nodding along as he absorbed the information. The butler was thorough in his assessment, highlighting the strengths and weaknesses of each phone compared to its counterparts. Allen appreciated Kai’s attention to detail, knowing that the butler always had his best interests at heart.
Once Kai had finished his comprehensive overview, he posed the question that had been on his mind. “Which do you prefer, sir?” he inquired, awaiting Allen’s decision.
Allen paused for a moment, mulling over Kai’s recommendation. He then glanced up, meeting the servant’s gaze with a thoughtful expression. “Any reason why you recommend so many phones with high-definition cameras?” he questioned, curious about Kai’s rationale behind the selection.
Kai’s expression remained composed as he provided an explanation. “Considering your frequent travels and the need for enhanced security measures, I thought it prudent to equip you with devices that offer superior camera capabilities,” he elaborated. “High-definition cameras can provide clearer images and better surveillance footage, which could be invaluable in various situations.”
“Also, you said you’re not a fan of mobile games, and I saw you carrying a camera this morning,” Kai smoothly interjected, his voice laced with a hint of amusement. “I just found out that you like photography. So, I chose several phones for you that have good cameras, similar to professional cameras. I hope that makes it easier for you to pursue your hobby.”
Allen couldn’t help but be taken aback by Kai’s thoughtful gesture. Though he had noticed the butler’s observant nature before, he hadn’t expected Kai to go to such lengths to cater to his preferences. ‘Seriously sharp,’ Allen mused silently, impressed by Kai’s attention to detail.
Or perhaps, Allen considered, it was Kai’s dedication to his duties that made him so perceptive. Either way, Allen was grateful for Kai’s efforts to ensure his comfort and satisfaction.
Allen’s gaze swept over the array of phones before him. Each one boasted impressive features and capabilities, making it a challenging choice. After a moment of consideration, Allen’s hand hovered over one of the devices, his expression thoughtful.
Finally, he made his selection, picking up the chosen phone with a decisive nod. “This one,” he declared, his tone reflecting his satisfaction with his choice.
“Great choice,” Kai complimented with a nod, swiftly organizing the remaining phones into a bag. “Do you want me to help you with the data and setup or will you do it yourself?” he offered his help politely, offering his assistance with transferring data to the new device.
Allen considered the offer for a moment before politely declining. “I will do it myself. Thank you,” he replied, feeling a sense of excitement as he retrieved the phone from its packaging. He couldn’t help but admire the sleek design of the device. The cool model phone gleamed in the light, complete with a stylish screen protector and case.
It was a far cry from his previous phone, and he couldn’t wait to explore its features and capabilities. There were also a phone case and a screen protector.
“I’ve prepared it all in case you need it,” Kai reiterated, his attention to detail evident.
Kai’s thoughtful preparation didn’t go unnoticed, and Allen appreciated the gesture.
“Yeah, I’m definitely going to need it,” Allen admitted with a chuckle, feeling a twinge of nervousness at the prospect of using such a high-end device for the first time. The thought of protecting it with a case and screen protector provided some reassurance, though.
