Villain Ch 595. Unusual Fighting Style [Part 1]

“I thought she would follow us throughout this hunt, but I was wrong,” Larissa murmured, her gaze lingering on the vacant space where Sophia’s group should have been.

Larissa’s observation triggered a hushed conversation within Allen’s group as they strolled through the eerie corridors of The Black Castle’s Hall.

Jane chimed in with a nonchalant remark, not breaking her stride. “She has to hunt somehow. Following us would be a waste of time.”

Allen’s irritation was palpable as the topic of Sophia bubbled up once again. He shot a reproachful look at the girls, his hope for a drama-free hunt now a distant dream.

“You guys promised me to ignore her, but you brought this topic again,” Allen sighed, his desire for a carefree hunting experience thwarted by the recurring focus on Sophia. The weight of being a devil emperor seemed lighter than navigating the intricacies of the girls’ conversations.

The girls responded with mischievous grins, their innocent facade barely masking their enjoyment of the gossip. Vivian playfully shrugged. “Girls always be girls. We like gossip and stuff,” she said, unabashed about their penchant for indulging in juicy discussions.

Caught in the midst of this peculiar dynamic, Father^Alex couldn’t help but furrow his brows in confusion. The curiosity got the better of him. “Do you have a problem with Yora?” he inquired, trying to piece together the fragments of conversation.

“Yora is his ex,” Bella disclosed, her words delivered with a matter-of-fact tone that left no room for ambiguity. Her revelation hung in the air, a simple statement that carried the weight of past emotions.

Alice, seizing the opportunity to add her signature flair, chimed in with a playful giggle. “Obsessive ex, to be exact,” she teased, as if extracting amusement from the lingering echoes of history.

Allen, caught in the crossfire of his companions’ candid revelations, could only muster a long exhale.

In his mind, the label was less about dwelling on the past and more about navigating the present. He didn’t mind Alice and Bella laying bare the details for Father^Alex. After all, he never sought to cloak the intricacies of his past relationships. However, it didn’t mean he derived joy from broadcasting these nuances. He just simply didn’t care that much.

Father^Alex’s eyes widened in shock. “Really?” he turned to Allen, curiosity etched across his features, eager for the unraveling of Allen’s past.

“Yeah,” Allen responded simply, his voice carrying a note of nonchalance. Discussing personal matters in the middle of a hunting session was not his forte, especially with someone not familiar with him.

However, Father^Alex’s inquisitiveness wasn’t easily quelled. He was on the brink of delving deeper into the intricacies of Allen’s past, perhaps prying into the chapters of his life that Allen preferred to keep locked away. Yet, as the words lingered on the tip of Father^Alex’s tongue, he chose a different path. He decided to let the question slide into the depths of unspoken understanding.

This decision was a nuanced dance, one that was rooted in the aftermath of an important tournament two years ago. A moment when Allen seemingly vanished. Speculations ran rampant, and among them was the notion that Allen had retreated due to matters of the heartbreaker. It was a conjecture that circulated like wildfire, fueled by the vacuum left in Allen’s wake.

Today, as Father^Alex observed Allen leading this eclectic group, a realization dawned. The rumors, once swirling with uncertainty, were substantiated.

Father^Alex’s eyes briefly shifted toward Allen, contemplating the unspoken complexities that lingered beneath the surface. ‘Well, I wouldn’t blame him if that was really what happened. His teammates just betrayed him at that time,’ he mused, empathizing with the potential heartache.

Meanwhile, Allen scanned their surroundings. His gaze roamed, absorbing the details of the surrounding environment, attuned to the potential threats that lay ahead.

“Guys, three more at three o’clock,” Allen’s voice cut through the air, a timely alert that shifted the group’s focus to the imminent danger. Two Undead Royal Guards and an Undead Archer emerged on the horizon, their eerie silhouettes foreboding.

“And two more at ten o’clock,” Shea seamlessly supplemented, her attention drawn to a Mimic and an Undead Royal Guard concealed behind a looming bookshelf.

Father^Alex eyebrows slightly furrowed. “It’s a bit much. Do you want to engage both?” he inquired, seeking clarification on their strategy. His experience told him that conventional tactics might dictate tackling one group of monsters at a time, ensuring a more controlled approach. Yet, observing the audacious methods of Allen’s group, he sensed a departure from the norm. .

“Both of them, of course,” Zoe, in disguise of a knight class, responded, her voice infused with unwavering confidence. With a quick, determined smile, she unsheathed her sword, ready for battle. Her gaze remained fixed on the cluster of monsters positioned at their one o’clock direction, her anticipation was clear.

With the impending clash looming, Allen swiftly assumed command of the situation. “I’ll take out the Undead Royal Guard at ten o’clock,” he declared, his fingers deftly maneuvering his controls as he prepared his dual blades. The sleek, deadly weapons glinted in the dungeon light.

Jane, taking on the guise of a Gladiator, readily volunteered to accompany Allen. “I will come with Allen for the Mimic,” she affirmed, her dual sword unsheathed and poised for action. The Gladiator, an advanced warrior class focused on offense, embodied a potent force on the battlefield.

Bella, in her role as a disguised sorcerer, nonchalantly chimed in, “I guess I will go for the Archer,” accompanied by a casual shrug. Despite the seemingly laid-back delivery, her words carried a confidence that mirrored the group’s collective assurance.

Father^Alex’s apprehension resonated through his voice as he tried to comprehend the seemingly audacious plan. “Wait, wait, wait! You guys will engage them at the same time?” he sought confirmation, concern lacing his words. The prospect of facing multiple formidable foes simultaneously sounded perilous, yet the confident smiles on Allen and the others hinted at a strategy beyond conventional norms.

“Yeah, that’s the plan,” Allen affirmed with an infectious smile, already in motion before Father^Alex could voice his next question.

“What about—” Father^Alex began, only to witness Allen and Jane swiftly executing their plan. The words hung unfinished in the air as the duo propelled themselves into action, leaving Father^Alex momentarily caught between concern and curiosity.

“The heal…” Father^Alex’s trailing words dissipated into the atmosphere. His realization struck – the group’s unconventional tactics didn’t hinge on immediate healing needs. He exhaled, acknowledging his oversight. ‘I forgot they don’t really need it. I guess I’ll concentrate on the tank then,’ he resolved, turning his attention to Zoe.

Zoe marched purposefully toward the other group of monsters. Father^Alex calculated that she would confront two Undead Royal Guards, a formidable challenge even for an experienced tank. The absence of urgent healing requirements allowed him to focus on bolstering Zoe’s defenses and ensuring her sustained resilience in the face of the impending clash.

Father^Alex couldn’t help but be taken aback by the unexpected flair in Zoe and the others’ fighting style. The orchestrated chaos of their actions was nothing short of a spectacle.

Shea, as before, initiated the encounter with her Earth Spike spell, ensnaring one of the Undead Royal Guards. This time, however, rather than Bella, Vivian seamlessly entered the fray, her bowstring taut with concentration. The duo’s methodical approach elongated the skirmish, yet the outcome remained unaltered – the Guard fell, and both emerged unscathed.

Simultaneously, Bella exhibited her strategic prowess by tackling the Archer. A fusion of fire element magic for sustained damage and a well-timed Slow Down spell became her modus operandi. With those spells, she could prevent the Archer from shooting and inflicting the damage at the same time.

The same as the others, Zoe adopted a unique approach, not purely tanking the Undead Royal Guard. Instead, she embraced a more dynamic strategy, leveraging her agility to evade the monster’s onslaught and attack it at the same time. Her movements was fast though it wasn’t as fast as Allen’s, avoiding blows with an almost ethereal finesse. It was a stark departure from the conventional tanking style, showcasing the adaptability and fluidity of her combat technique.

Simultaneously, Larissa, in her Rogue persona, added an extra layer of versatility. Rogue was a class similar to Assassin which came from dual dagger user. But rather than being like an assassin who was only limited to using dual daggers, a rogue could use a bow like a hunter and a sword like a knight. This class could also use cheap knives and throw them at the enemy.

Opting for ranged attacks with her bow, Larissa mirrored the tactics of a hunter, launching arrows at her target from a distance. In a pinch, she could simply switch her weapon and become a melee DPS.
