[Steamholm Country Military Command – Top Secret
Commander’s Order – Operation Inferno Portal
To all Military Chiefs,
Steamholm Country’s fate hangs in the balance. The time has come to initiate Operation Inferno Portal. Our objective: to create a portal to the Devil Emperor’s realm, and strike before his dark powers become unstoppable.
Our success hinges on meticulous preparation. Recruit warriors are the heart of our mission. Train them rigorously, instilling the values of valor and unity. They must become a formidable force.
The portal’s creation requires utmost secrecy and precision. Ensure the alchemists and engineers have the necessary resources and guidance. Let nothing delay their progress.
This operation demands unwavering commitment. Be vigilant, for the Devil Emperor’s spies may lurk among us. Report any suspicious activities immediately.
The fate of our world lies in our hands. We shall conquer the Devil Emperor’s realm and bring an end to his tyranny. Let history remember this day as the dawn of our victory.
For Steamholm Country!

After reading the contents of the letter, they exchanged glances with each other.
Larissa was the first to connect the dots. “So, that’s why ‘we’ attacked this military base in the past,” she said, the realization dawning on her.
Vivian nodded in agreement. “Yes, it makes sense now. It was a strong reason to destroy this place and turn it into ruins.”
Bella, however, couldn’t help but express her thoughts. “But I still think turning all the soldiers into ghosts sounds sadistic and scary,” she added with a huff, a touch of unease in her voice.
“Indeed. But they need a reason or monsters to guard this dungeon,” Zoe argued. “And those ghosts are a perfect material for this,” she reminded them.
Bella chimed in, agreeing with a nod. “True.”
“What do you think Allen?” Shea turned to Allen, who had been silent throughout the discussion. His gaze remained fixed on the letter as he continued to contemplate its implications. All eyes were on him, waiting for his response.
“I think this means that we will most likely play tower defense later,” Allen began to analyze, his brow furrowing in thought.
“You mean?” Jane prompted, curious about his thoughts.
Allen continued, “They mentioned creating a portal to our realm, so the players might be able to access the Cursed Crypts one day using that portal. At that time, we may have to turn the Cursed Crypts into our fortress and increase its security. Maybe we can add troops or even create them,” he speculated, a sense of anticipation in his voice. This revelation hinted at the possibility of future challenges and the need to fortify their base. They had to be ready for both defense and offense, and it seemed like they would soon have the opportunity to create their own soldiers to strengthen their base.
“Well, that’s all just my assumption though,” Allen clarified. However, considering his prior conversation with Jordan, even though he hadn’t explicitly mentioned this scenario, Jordan had hinted at a larger, more complex war in the future with the ultimate goal of domination.
Jane nodded in agreement. “That does make sense,” she admitted. “We have already attacked their cities. So, it stands to reason that one day there might be an opportunity where they will try to attack our base in return,” she analyzed.
“This game is still new after all. That could happen,” Bella commented with a casual shrug.
Almost simultaneously, the rest of the group turned their attention to Shea. She looked at them, puzzled by their sudden scrutiny.
“What?” Shea inquired, genuinely confused by their collective gaze.
“Did Kafra say something about that?” Alice inquired, her curiosity piqued.
“No, she hasn’t said anything to me,” Shea replied. She then turned her gaze toward Allen. “Besides, instead of me, Allen has better informants,” she added.
Allen shrugged. “I haven’t received any info about that,” he admitted.
Alice let out a huff. “What a shame,” she muttered, clearly disappointed that they didn’t have more information on the matter.
“Anyway, should we continue or not?” Allen asked, his gaze drifting toward the ominous staircase leading deeper into the dungeon. “There’s one more level, and it looks like that will be where they created the portal,” he speculated.
“Does that mean we will encounter other boss monsters?” asked Bella with a cringe.
“Maybe,” Allen answered uncertainty. The information on the forum didn’t mention that so he wasn’t sure about it. The forum event didn’t mention the quest and the boss monsters would appear five at a time like before.
Zoe chimed in, looking thoughtful. “Well, we’ve already faced quite a few boss monsters. It won’t be surprising if there are more down there.”
Alice, her brow furrowed, couldn’t hide her unease. The last battle had been incredibly intense, and she was feeling drained. “Do we really have to?” she inquired with a cringe. “I could use a break, and my mana reserves aren’t exactly at their best right now.”
The group exchanged glances, weighing their options. They had come a long way and faced numerous challenges, and they were all feeling the toll of their recent battles. While the prospect of completing the dungeon was tempting, they also recognized the need to rest and recuperate.
“We’ve been through a lot,” Shea pointed out, echoing Bella’s sentiments. “Maybe it’s a good idea to rest, and come back later when we’re more prepared.”
Larissa nodded in agreement. “Yeah, we can always return when we’re in better shape.”
Allen took a moment to consider their collective weariness and the potential risks ahead. “Okay. We’ll come back another day. We can tackle the final level when we’re at our best,” he agreed, his voice tinged with exhaustion. He rubbed his temples, feeling a persistent throb in his head. It wasn’t a normal occurrence for him, but he had a hunch it was connected to the lack of sleep he’d been getting lately. The stress and tension from the recent DNA test result seemed to be catching up with him now.
