Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives

Chapter 385 Modest Bragging

Villain Ch 385. Modest Bragging

“You rarely participate in events? Why?” asked the priestess to Allen’s group. Her voice carried genuine intrigue, prompting the girls to offer their explanations.

Alice was quick to chime in, her words coming out in a rush. “Real-life jobs,” she confessed, her tone a mix of explanation and a hint of regret.

Bella nodded in agreement, adding her own input, “Yeah, same boat.”

Allen decided to throw in his two cents as well. “Just as they say,” he stated casually, almost shrugging.

Their candid responses earned a sympathetic nod from the priestess. But their exchange was interrupted by a male hunter who had been eavesdropping on their conversation.

His enthusiastic voice cut through the air. “Too bad. The event is the game’s highlight. It was so much fun! You guys should participate more often!” His words were laced with genuine excitement.

The male wizard couldn’t resist a teasing jab, his words dripping with playful sarcasm. “You surely talk big for someone who fled in panic at the first event,” he quipped, a mischievous grin tugging at his lips.

The hunter, however, wasn’t one to back down. He shot back with a spirited comeback, his tone laced with humor. “Hey, don’t complain! I thought the mission was to escape from that city. You know it’s like a cliché story when the hero runs away and takes his revenge on the villains in the future,” he countered, his words lighthearted yet defiant.

The conversation took a lively turn as the female magic scholar chimed in, her voice carrying a touch of amusement. “After all the destruction and everything, it made you want to run!” she chimed in, a knowing glint in her eyes.

The hunter seemed to find camaraderie in their shared sentiments, and he continued their banter with a nod of agreement. “Especially since we know we can’t fight them,” he added, a wry smile tugging at his lips.

“Yeah. Why fight something we clearly can’t win?” chimed in the magic scholar with a playful grin, her words carrying a sense of camaraderie. Her comment was met with knowing nods and a few chuckles, a testament to the shared sentiment among the players.

“That makes sense,” agreed the wizard, his tone contemplative as he remembered the events that had unfolded in their past encounters.

Allen seized the opportunity to steer the conversation towards the topic he was curious about. “The next event sounds exciting. I wish I could participate more,” he commented, his tone casual as if he was simply discussing the weather. .

The hunter seemed receptive to the conversation, his eyes lighting up with enthusiasm. “Absolutely. This event allows a small guild to shine, as long as we have good teamwork,” he responded, his words reflecting the strategic nature of the upcoming challenge.

The priestess, too, chimed in with valuable information, her words carrying a note of excitement. “Indeed. I heard that they will put the guild emblem on the city gate once a guild succeeds in taking over the city or town from the emperor. It can boost the guild’s fame,” she shared, her tone revealing the allure of recognition and status in the gaming world.

“They will also announce it on the server,” the wizard chimed in with a touch of excitement, contributing to the conversation with valuable information.

“Yeah, I’m also excited about it! I mean…” the magic scholar began, her words trailing off as her gaze shifted towards Mac’s group. There was a hint of playful mischief in her expression as she continued, “I want to be a famous player too.”

Allen cast a quick glance at Yora, who was surrounded by a swarm of male players, both from her group and others. Her gestures, like showcasing her impressive equipment list to a fellow healer, seemed to exude a sense of modest bragging.

“Is that group famous?” Shea’s curiosity broke the silence, prompting the priestess to nod in agreement.

“Yeah, that Mac guy started gaining quite the reputation after he heroically led the evacuation during the first Ront City attack. Remember that dark tower event?” the wizard chimed in, sharing some context with the group.

“The guild’s got quite the reputation, and word is they’ve formed numerous alliances,” the hunter chimed in, adding to the discussion.

The revelation piqued Allen’s interest, as this was information he hadn’t come across before.

“Tell me more about it,” Allen requested, his curiosity clearly evident in his tone. He leaned in, genuinely intrigued by the dynamics of this guild and its network of alliances.

At the same time, Yora’s gaze shifted towards Allen and his group, observing their lively conversation with a mix of curiosity and a touch of envy. They seemed so engrossed, and their excitement was palpable. She felt a tug of curiosity, wanting to join in, but she hesitated, unsure of how to approach them without any apparent reason.

To add to her frustration, she noticed a private chat window pop up in front of Allen. His reaction was immediate, as he excused himself from the group to respond to the message. It was clear he didn’t want others to catch a glimpse of its contents. This only fueled Yora’s jealousy and dissatisfaction, intensifying her desire to engage Allen in conversation.

She contemplated approaching him, attempting to strike up a casual chat. Yet, before she could act on that impulse, INeedAHotGF’s voice broke through, announcing Mac’s return. “Mac is back, guys!”

Yora knew she had to be prepared to support Mac and put her interaction with Allen on hold.

Allen’s gaze flicked over to Yora, catching her watching him, but he quickly returned his attention to the chat in front of him. The messages from his companions appeared on the screen.

Abyssia (Zoe): My class just finished. Where are you guys?

Lilieth (Vivian): I also just finished my video. Mind if I join you?

Allen’s fingers flew across the virtual keyboard as he responded promptly.

Azazel: We’re in disguise. Find us at the Black Castle’s Temple near the altar.

Abyssia: On our way!

Another idea struck him, and he continued typing.

Azazel: Can you guys play the villains for a bit? Mac and his gang are here. I want to give them a little surprise. Just attack us with a couple of big hits and then retreat.

Lilieth: Haha, that sounds like fun!

Abyssia: Count us in. You are in a mischievous mood, huh?

A smirk tugged at the corner of Allen’s lips as he read their responses.

“Yeah, I’m in the mood to stir up some trouble,” he muttered under his breath, a mischievous glint in his eyes.
