Chapter 87 Reporting To The Emperor
The five-day journey seemed to pass in an instant as Wang Jian and his companions arrived at the magnificent Royal Capital of the Everlasting Mystic Empire, named Aria.
The bustling city was filled with vibrant colors and sounds, as merchants and nobles went about their daily business under the watchful eyes of the Imperial Palace.
The grandeur of the architecture was breathtaking, with towering spires and ornate decorations adorning the buildings.
Wang Jian’s female companions were in awe at the grandeur of the city.
Su Xian’s eyes widen as she looks at the breathtaking city. “The capital is truly magnificent. I have never seen such beauty before.”
Fen Shuying’s mouth opens slightly as she takes in the sight before her. “This is the capital? It’s like a dream.”
Kang Huian gasps softly as she looks around, her eyes sparkling with wonder. “Everything looks so grand and majestic. It’s hard to believe we are actually here.”
Han Xifeng’s heart races with excitement as she sees the magnificent buildings and ornate decorations. “The architecture is truly a work of art. This is the pinnacle of human achievement.”
Wang Jian replied with a sense of pride, “Just wait until your eyes fall upon the Royal Palace. Its magnificence surpasses everything you’ve seen so far.”
As they continued their flight for an hour, the group caught sight of the Royal Palace, a grand structure perched atop a hill overlooking the capital.
The Palace was an enormous structure, with towering walls made of white stone that glittered in the sunlight. The walls encircled a vast complex of buildings, including multiple courtyards, pavilions, and gardens.
The main entrance to the Palace was an impressive gatehouse, adorned with intricate carvings and inlaid with gold.
Beyond the gatehouse was a long, wide avenue, lined with majestic trees and beautifully manicured gardens. The avenue led directly to the main palace, a towering structure with multiple tiers and numerous domes.
Each tier was adorned with elaborate carvings and sculptures, while the domes were covered in shimmering tiles of gold and blue.
As they drew closer, Wang Jian’s group could see that the Palace was teeming with activity.
Soldiers in ornate armor patrolled the walls and courtyards, while courtiers and servants bustled about their duties.
The Palace itself seemed to radiate an aura of power and majesty, an impressive symbol of the Everlasting Mystic Empire’s might and wealth. .
Wang Jian said, “Behold, the Royal Palace of the Everlasting Mystic Empire. Truly, it is a marvel to behold.”
His women were truly awe-struck at the magnificence of the palace.
After landing, everyone dismounted their griffins. Bai Liqin approached Wang Jian and spoke in a soft tone, “I shall escort the ladies to their chambers. So, go and greet your father, the Emperor.”
“Thank you, Mother,” Wang Jian replied with gratitude as he strode off towards the palace gates.
As soon as Wang Jian reached the gates of the palace, he broke into a sprint, his heart pounding with excitement and anticipation. The guards stationed there, recognizing him, quickly opened the gates to let him through.
Wang Jian didn’t even spare them a glance as he raced through the courtyard, his long strides eating up the distance.
Finally, he arrived at the Emperor’s chambers, where he found his father, Emperor Liang, seated on his throne.
With a deep bow, Wang Jian greeted him and said, “Father, it is an honor to see you again. I cannot express how grateful I am to you for rescinding my exile and allowing me to return to the capital.”
The Emperor’s face softened as he gazed at his son, pride evident in his eyes. “Jian, my son, it is good to see you again. ‘We’ are pleased that you have returned to the capital, where you belong.”
“It was a grave injustice to exile you, my son,” the Emperor said with a heavy heart. “‘We’ understand your motive to avenge your mother’s attack, and ‘we’, too, had the urge to punish that damned diplomat. However, the constraints of ‘our’ position rendered ‘us’ helpless.”
Wang Jian could not help but suppress a derisive scoff. He was fully aware that the Emperor’s statement was nothing but a blatant falsehood.
Despite the monarch’s contrite expression, Wang Jian knew that the Emperor was merely trying to placate him.
“Father, your words fill me with great pride and joy,” Wang Jian replied with gratitude.
The Emperor paused for a moment before asking, “‘We’ have heard that you have subjugated the three tribes that were exiled to the Zhenguan Region. Are they truly loyal to you?”
Wang Jian replied with confidence, “Yes, Father. They have pledged their allegiance to me and are willing to join my faction.”
The Emperor nodded in approval, impressed by Wang Jian’s leadership and diplomacy.
“Excellent news. The return of these tribes shall undoubtedly augment the power of our Empire. Yet, their comeback may not be well received by other clans and associations in our domain. Therefore, ‘we ‘bestow upon you full jurisdiction over them, my son. But be wary, for if the word of their return reaches their detractors and they face danger, ‘we’ shall be powerless to aid them,” declared Emperor Liang with a solemn tone.
Wang Jian sensed the Emperor’s subtle warning hidden behind the opportunity. He gracefully bowed and spoke, “I am honored by your graciousness, Your Majesty. Rest assured, I will ensure the safety and prosperity of the tribes under my authority. Their growth and progress shall reflect the strength of our great empire.”
The Emperor gave a small nod, acknowledging Wang Jian’s words, “‘We’ have faith in your abilities, my son. But you must remember that there are those who will not welcome their return. You must be cautious and discreet.”
Wang Jian’s expression grew solemn as he spoke, “I understand, Father. I will do everything in my power to accomplish this task.”
The Emperor gave him a reassuring smile, “‘We’ have no doubt that you will, my son. Now, go and rest. You must be weary from your journey.”
With a final bow, Wang Jian turned and left the chamber, his mind already working on the plans for the future.
