Chapter 66 Awakening Su Xian’s Spirit
As the sun began to rise, Wang Jian and Kang Huian stirred from their slumber, their bare bodies entangled in the sheets. With a languid stretch, they climbed out of bed and made their way to the bathroom for a quick shower.
After a few minutes, the two were indulging each other in a quick round of passionate sex in the bathroom, enjoying each other’s naked bodies.
Kang Huian savored the sensation of the hot water raining down on her as Wang Jian pressed himself against her from behind, kissing her neck and fondling her breasts.
Once they were done, they returned to the room, their bodies still glistening with water. Kang Huian looked for her clothes, but they were nowhere to be found.
She remembered the previous night, how they had stripped naked before getting down to business. Wang Jian, on the other hand, seemed unfazed and began dressing up with a self-assured swagger.
As she slipped into her dress, Kang Huian couldn’t help but feel a sense of shame and disgust at herself for what had happened. Despite the deepening pit of guilt, she couldn’t deny the raw pleasure she experienced with Wang Jian
She knew deep down that what she had done was a twisted form of revenge against Lin Feng.
“You have finally begun to enjoy the pleasure,” Wang Jian commented with a depraved smile on his face.
Kang Huian shifted her gaze away, feeling uneasy as she nibbled on her lower lip. After a brief pause, she uttered in a low voice, “Why do you treat me so despicably?”
“Previously, it was because you belonged to Lin Feng,” Wang Jian replied indifferently, “But now, it’s simply because I relish the sight of you writhing under me.”
“Perhaps if your actions were more noble and kind, our relationship would have taken a different course,” Kang Huian stated.
“This is no point thinking of such a possibility. Instead, you should think more about how you are going to live from this point,” Wang Jian responded as he left the room.
The conversation was pretty much over for him.
After Wang Jian left, Kang Huian couldn’t help but contemplate deeply, ‘…After what happened last night, I can never turn back. I should focus on increasing my strength. Only then can I regain control of my fate!’
Wang Jian strode through the mansion and soon found himself in the company of Su Xian. He led her to a spacious hall, the Spirit Awakening Hall, which lay empty and barren.
The hall had been designed to enable the warriors or even guards in Wang Jian’s mansion to awaken their spirits and harness their inner strength.
As the duo stepped inside, a pair of maids hastened over and began preparing the necessary items for the spirit awakening ritual. 𝒷𝒹𝓸𝓿𝓁.𝒸ℴ𝓶
They lit a bundle of fragrant incense sticks and placed them in a brass censer, which emitted a thick cloud of smoke that wafted through the air.
Meanwhile, the Spirit Awakening Artifact consists of a small metallic orb about the size of a fist, with intricate designs etched all over its surface. It is made of a special alloy of metals and infused with a rare crystal that emits a faint glow.
This artifact was placed over the cloud of smoke, and it levitated effortlessly.
The smoke fused with the power within the artifact creating a mysterious energy.
This mysterious energy felt somewhat familiar to Wang Jian as he thought, ‘Isn’t this similar to the System’s energy that provides me with those benefits.’
He then asked the system with a low voice, “System, is this the same as your energy?”
[Answering the host’s question, this energy is inferior compared to the system’s energy. The core of our energy is the same as we utilize the World Essence, but the energy within this orb can only awaken an individual’s spirit. It has no other functionality.]
“I see…”
Once the metallic orb was bustling with energy, Wang Jian spoke, “Place your hand over it and concentrate. This artifact will do the rest.”
“Mhm!” Without hesitation, Su Xian complied with Wang Jian’s orders and rested her hand on the orb. As soon as she made contact, the orb radiated a brilliant azure light that enveloped her entire body.
The energy surged through Su Xian, causing her to levitate in the air. Her eyes were closed as she concentrated on channelling her spirit.
Unknown to her, her spirit was taking the shape of a powerful bird – the Ice Phoenix.
The bird gradually materialized and began to take flight within the hall, spreading its wings majestically.
Wang Jian’s eyes widened with shock as he stared at this Ice Phoenix. However, he regained his composure quickly enough and thought, ‘As expected of her identity as a Heroine.’
‘I wonder what spirits Lin Feng’s other women possess. Never really heard of it,’ Wang Jian thought.
Wang Jian shook Su Xian and spoke, “Your spirit has awakened. You can stop concentrating now.”
Su Xian’s body suddenly stopped levitating, and Wang Jian caught her before she fell to the ground.
She weakly opened her eyes and finally saw her spirit. Even though she felt so weak after awakening this majestic spirit, she still smiled brightly.
“Thank you. Thank you, Jian,” She suddenly kissed his lips.
As the two continued to kiss, Su Xian lost her concentration to maintain the Ice Phoenix, and it gradually dematerialized as the spiritual energy returned to her body.
The two finally parted after a couple of minutes.
“Get some rest, Xian’er. I understand how draining the awakening process can be,” Wang Jian spoke with gentle authority, leaving no room for objections.
With great care, he lifted her up and carried her to her chambers, where he gently laid her on the soft bed, ensuring that she was comfortable. Quietly, he slipped out of the room, leaving Su Xian to rest and recover.
After leaving Su Xian’s chambers, Wang Jian headed towards Fen Shuying’s estate. As it was still early afternoon, he felt that it would be an opportune time to spend some quality time with the woman.
Given her current favourable impression of him, he knew that it was important to capitalize on this situation to its fullest extent.
