"Now that our village has regained its sense of normalcy, I believe that it is time to head to the Typhon Tribe’s village to burn this Flesh Plant that Kanan had told us about a month ago."

Omula was doing the talking today. She looked and sounded confident, her very being radiating a sense of superiority and pride.

She had spent the past month getting used to her position, overcoming her inner fears, and mentally strengthening herself.

It took a lot to be the chief, a toll she’s just now realizing. Omula didn’t know how her father could do it, but she respected him even more because of that.

Being in his position made her understand how her father felt and acted, and it made her very proud to be his daughter.

"I agree." Elder Trena. "This...threat has been lurking in the back of my mind ever since we’ve dealt with the Verminus Plant’s mind. Now we need to get rid of its body once and for all. This way, we can finally breathe."

"Even then, we still wont be out of the clear yet." Elder Hal added. "Remember what Kanan had told us those weeks ago. The Verminus Plant has another mind in the Helsik Tribe. If we are to take the Plant’s words seriously, then we need to stay on our guard."

"I agree. This is why Kanan’s team will set out the moment the Flesh Plant is destroyed." Omula commanded, glancing at Kanan to get his response.

But instead of answering, Kanan sat there in a daze, his face resting on his hand as he looked at the ceiling.

’A child.’ Kanan thought as he remembered Yala’s words.

Anyone would be lucky to have such a woman as a mate, but instead of finding one, she decided to dedicate herself to her role. Still, she had many suitors.

’Yet she wants a child with me. I feel kind of honored. Though I wonder how people would react. Yala is the best and most powerful healer in the village. So if she has a child with me, people will automatically believe that we’re mates, and even if we clarify that we aren’t, our positions will make it so that no one would want to get with her.’

"Kanan?" Omula whispered, trying to get his attention.

’I have no problem making her my mate. But that’s only if she agrees to it as well. Hold on, Omula is the most powerful healer in the village, yet she can’t regrow limbs or organs. So what if she learns the Spirit Core absorption method?’

Kanan had named the combined process of accumulating spirit energy the Spirit Core Absorption Method, or Spirit Core Method for short...shorter.

"Kanan," Omula spoke in a normal pitch this time, hoping he would snap out of his daydream.

’If she learned it, then maybe she could regrow limbs and organs. That would be a huge help to our way of life. Hell, even sicknesses, diseases, and other types of illnesses could be cured, potentially. I’ve got to speak with her after this meeting is done.’

This time, Omula raised her voice and slammed her hand on the table. "Kanan!"

"H-Huh? What? What’s going on?" His heart nearly ran out of his chest after being startled like that.

"What has you thinking so hard that you’ve tuned all of us out?"

"I was wondering if Yala would be able to regrow limbs and organs if she learned the Spirit Core method. It would be a great help to our people...Oh, and she asked me to give her a child."

Elder Trena raised an eyebrow. "What?!"

"Yala wants a child with you?" Elder Hal asked

"Maybe we should push up the date for the Breeding Ceremonies." Elder Telah commented

Elder Lars sighed but smiled faintly. "That girl has been focusing on her work for too long. It’s about time she started a family."

"Wait, what’s this Spirit Core Method? Can it make you stronger?" Elder Nala seemed to be the only one who cared about the Spirit Core Method.

"Let’s focus, everyone. We can get back to this later. But Kanan, can you have your team ready to leave by the time we destroy the Flesh Plant in the Typhon Tribe?"

"Yeah, they’ve been on standby for a whole month now. All they do is train and wait for the day we depart."

"Good. Also, what is this Spirit Core Method? I’ve never heard of this before."

"Telah, Selin, and I managed to combine the spirit accumulation processes of our tribes. It made us a lot stronger. I can even see spirits now. Some are even dancing around your ears, Omula."

"O-Oh. That’s amazing! I see that your new Elite Squad is coming along nicely."

Telah smiled, proud of their work in this short amount of time. "That’s right. They’re called the Apex Warriors. We’re still training them up and learning things on the fly, but soon, they will be powerful."

Kanan wanted to respond, but Telah said everything he would have, so he just nodded.

Nala, a battle junkie, couldn’t help but drool upon hearing this. She instantly ran over to Kanan and grabbed his shoulders, gripping them tightly.

"You have to teach me this! You have to! No way I can’t learn this new power! Kanan, teach me, now!"

"Okay, okay, jeez! Relax. No need to take my shoulders off with you."

"The rest of you should learn it as well." Telah added. "As the leaders of the Village, it’s only natural that we stand among the strongest."

"I agree. I’ll teach it to all of you right now." Kanan got up and explained the whole process to them, including how they would feel and what they would see.

Before Omula could begin, he placed his hand on her belly and asked the system if she would be alright to learn this method while being pregnant.

Once he got the confirmation that it was completely safe, he allowed Omula to learn it, watching as she nearly exploded from embarrassment.

It took a few hours, but surprisingly, everyone managed to succeed on their first try. It was a success that Kanan hadn’t expected, but appreciated.

Even Elder Lars, Trena, Nala, and Hal looked younger than usual. The older of the bunch looking a decade or two younger.

Nala couldn’t contain her excitement. Always fighting due to the monsters, she desperately wanted to test her new power. "Hahahahaha! This is amazing! Kanan! Let’s spar!"
