Chapter 465 Andrium
“I thought you were trying to date that girl, Altashia. How could you just allow that Morty guy to take her with him in the morning?”
Eren heard Agatha’s question just when he had concluded that his first wind-element spell could be used successfully in the battle. He turned back from his position with a satisfying smile.
“Who told you I was trying to date Al?”
Eren asked and scratched his chin while maintaining an amused expression. The anthrope hmphed before replying.
“I have seen the way you look at her.”
“What do you mean?” Eren asked with puzzled expressions on his face.
“You look at her the way you look at money. With keen interest.”
Eren started laughing when he heard Agatha’s remarks. He had to admit that the girl paid very close attention to his behaviour and habits. She would have some witty remarks about his peculiarities.
He then sighed and turned around to look outside the window again. He raised his hands and slashed them vertically one by one to create another batch of wind blades before answering her.
“Altashia is beautiful. Add her talent to her family background and you’d soon come to realize that she would be having loads of admirers. Morty is just one of them.
Do you want me to quarrel with every other guy who finds her right for him? I’ll have to create enmity with half of Edinburgh if I decide to do that.”
Eren controlled his Wind Blades Tornado to move according to his will while talking with Agatha. He was testing how much control he had over the tornado after he added more wind blades than a default limit. In short, he was looking for the tipping point of spell failure.
Controlling the wind elements of his mini-tornado, he added on.
“Hehe! I might sound pompous. But it’s better Altashia chases after me than I chase after her. Why do you think I’m training so hard at night instead of cuddling you? Hahahaha!”
Agatha’s cheeks were tinged red. But she processed those feelings and found them to be welcoming. But as the manager of a new guild, she had a few doubts. So she prioritized them first now that they were alone.
“Eren, I’ve heard about the Derringers. But what are we planning to offer them as materials? If you are speaking of temporary weapon strengthening potions, then I am sorry to tell you that they are not our finest products. Not because the products or their recipes are inferior. But the skillsets of our potioners are too low to do those recipes justice.”
Taking everything into account, Agatha said. The potioners that had signed contracts with their two-person guild were all a desperate bunch.
Most of the potioners working for Raven shop had their potioning license removed. Without keeping a record of their employment, the shop just made them work and gave them resources. So when Agatha promised to take care of their basic needs in the Nightshade duchy under Eren’s guidance, they were happy to oblige.
Eren shook his head in denial when he heard his assistant’s query. He quickly dispersed the excessive blades of wind just as the spell was about to go haywire and observed the mini-tornado with his eyes and mana sense. Now he had found the critical number of wind blades he could cast while keeping the spell somewhat stable.
“I know our potioners are likely to take some time adapting to the recipes. They are not mainstream recipes after all. But who said anything about weapon strengthening potions?
We are planning to trade with them using a different product. Something that a business giant like Derringer would be desperate to trade with us. Hehe!”
After saying this, Eren dispersed his next wind-element tornado. By now he was playing with the shape of the wind blades and changing them from curved sword-shaped wind blades to katars or shamshirs. But the tweak failed and the spell was forced to end. Eren was prepared for the spells’ failure in advance. So he didn’t feel any backlash.
“And what will it be?”
Agatha asked Eren with a look of interest. As she lay on the bed, facing Eren, she raised her head with her folded arm, looking in his direction.
Eren was about to answer while experimenting with his wind-element spell. But then he heard the communication array disk placed over the work desk buzz with a distinct ring. He operated his mana sense on it to receive voice communication.
“Respected sir, we have specifically mentioned in our rules that there shouldn’t be any spell executions that could disturb the other occupants of the inn. Kindly cooperate with us in making this stay a pleasant experience for all the occupants including you.”
The female receptionist’s voice was coated with a bit of irritation and tension. The butcher made a face that had “guilty” written all over it when he heard her.
“Cough* Alright.”
Eren cleared his throat and replied before cancelling the communication channel. He decided he should stop casting his spells for tonight. He then kept the windows open but drew the flimsy curtains over before walking towards the bed, on which Agatha was resting.
“So where were we? Yes!
The raw products.”
Eren lay beside Agatha on the bed with his face right in front of Agatha’s. He then traced his index finger across the anthrope’s arm from top to bottom before replying.
“We are planning to offer them Andrium.”
It took a while for Agatha to realize what raw product her master was thinking about trading with the Derringers. She opened her eyes in wide surprise, seemingly unaware of where Eren’s finger was on her body. She was too stunned to speak so Eren continued forward on his own.
“Are you wondering where we will get our hands on Andrium? Don’t worry. Let’s say that we will have a consistent supply of it. Andrium and a lot more if you ask me. Hehe! But that will come later.”
Andrium was a precious metal often used in weapon manufacturing because of its exceptional mana conductor properties. Weapons made of this metal would almost always receive an additional grade enhancement than their intended manufacturing process would allow. Andrium ores became a sought-after raw material in the market because of this.
Agatha’s mind started working at a rapid pace. By now, she had gained plenty of experience running a business. And she had seen how Eren worked and used to plan. So it didn’t take long for her to zero in on one crucial detail.
“That land you registered as the guild asset? It is not barren, is it?”
