305 A Risky Plan

After the touching moment with Erika, I swiftly moved back home. My parents were already about to have dinner so I had to quickly save all the potions I made into my bags and then went to have dinner with them. They were as talkative as ever, and my father was feeling better as well. Thanks to my treatment, the pain had gone out quite a lot, especially now that I’ve begun to give him Bitter Weed tea and also had been using Bitter Weed paste to cover his body with it to remove the irritation of his scars and the tiredness of his muscles.
Meanwhile, I’ve begun to consider having my mother train a bit. She’s mostly dedicated to cooking and doing a variety of house shores, but she has to grow stronger. What if a tragedy happens here and she won’t be able to do a single thing? Her Sheep seems quite strong and might have some potential, but it completely depends in her hard work. However, I find it hard to find the ideal occasion to just tell my mother to train martial arts with me, so for now, it has been delayed indefinitely, especially because she’s still pregnant right now. Ah yes, I had taken this into consideration, I was… simply talking about after that, several months after.
“Goodnight honey.” My mother kissed my cheek as she walked back to her bed.
“Goodnight mother.” I said, leaving three Fenrir outside of their room as guards, alongside another one in grandma’s room where she was already sleeping at.
I also left two Orcus near the door outside, and a Huginn over the house as a watcher for anything suspicious. If anybody or anything tries to get here, I’ll immediately know and come to help. Ah yes, there’s two Spores as well, dug underground and pretending to be just some big mushroom caps as decoration. I already told my parents about them so they don’t try to take them away.
These two are also a good way to prevent any house assault. Thanks to having upgraded to Rank G, Spore gained a new Ability named [Poison Fog] which can generate a purple-colored fog of poison that can generate paralysis or pain to anybody that touches it. If they see someone suspicious, they’ll spray them with this for good measure.

This is Spore after reaching G Rank. His stats are still mostly garbage, but he has a surprisingly high amount of Intelligence. With that he’s easily able to discern friend from foe and he’s good at following intricate orders. The Intelligence stat in a monster usually makes them actually smarter. Dumber ones like Orcus are not good at following intricate orders than just charging at an enemy. This is also why Huginn is quite intelligent as well and observant. Fenrir is the second dumbest after Orcus though…
And Flare, the Fire Salamander, is the smartest of them. I still only have one right now, but I am planning on shifting my Summon Cards a bit to increase my MP some more with her Cards. She’s quite playful though, always walking around my body with her sticky legs, which allow her to walk around vertical surfaces like a gecko.
“Gryee~”
She emerged out of my shirt once more, looking at me with her bright white eyes. Her skin was slimy and red and black in color.
“What is it now? I’ve already feed you berries. Familiars shouldn’t even be eating, you’re disposable guys.”
“Grye?!”
Flare suddenly felt shocked by my words.
Did she actually understood everything I said?
“Grye! Gryeee!”
She suddenly got angry, slapping my chest with her tail with all the strength she could muster. Of course, her Strength Stat was minuscule, so she was not doing any damage at all.
“Hehe, Flare is quite playful today too.” Eleanora giggled.
“She also seems to have some of her memories as that fat man’s spirit. She didn’t liked him one bit and prefers me, but still, she’s cocky.” I sighed.
“That’s because of her high Intelligence stat?” Wondered Eleanora.
“Yeah, as it rises, they’re able to understand speech and even develop their own personalities.” I sighed. “For example, Flare is cocky and rather demanding, while Huginn is sinister, he enjoys hunting small prey and tearing them up… Meanwhile, Usagi is… Huh, I don’t know.”
“What about Orcus and Fenrir?” Asked Eleanora.
“You know Fenrir better than me…” I sighed.
“Hehe, he’s a good boy. He likes to play fetch and to have belly rubs.” Eleanora giggled. She loved to spend time with the black wolves because he reminds us of our previous life pet, Cerberus, a giant three-headed dog we raised since it was a pup.
“Well, for now let’s go see our third test subject…”
When we reached the underground, we found a gruesome sight.
The Midget was unable to resist the power of the limbs and his little body was reduced to bones and skin, even his eyes looked dried out. Thankfully the Demon Limbs seem to be unable to eat Spirit Orbs.
“It seems these four Limbs have evolved over these three days… Incredible.” Eleanora said.
“Yeah, I am also quite amazed. They look completely different to how they started. They had evolved on their own and had gained the power of three men they absorbed… With this, why even use the General’s limbs?” I sighed.
“Indeed… A-Are you really planning to implant these?!” Eleanora quickly realized I planned to get these instead of the others.
“I mean, they’re already powered up. It would be a waste to not.” I sighed. “Don’t worry, I am only using one arm, I will enhance it and feed it a bit more before transplanting it.”
Eleanora seemed slightly annoyed about this idea though.
