Vampire Progenitor of the Immortal World
Chapter 130 - 91 : Lightning Fall (1)
Chapter 130: Chapter 91 : Lightning Fall (1)
The Foundation Establishment cultivator looked down at him from above. Ethan could see his face clearly now, young and calm, with an unmistakable sense of superiority in his eyes. The cultivator remained there for several breaths, looking down at Ethan as though taking in the person who had caused so much trouble, before finally opening his mouth to speak.
"So you’re the Blood Demon."
His voice carried easily through the open air.
"So you’re the Blood Demon."
It was not really a question. He said it as though the answer had already been decided, leaving Ethan no real opportunity to deny it.
Ethan said nothing.
The man looked him over slowly, his gaze passing over the pale skin, the blood-stained clothing, and the sword at his waist before returning to his face. There was no curiosity in the way he looked at him, only the cold disdain of someone examining something beneath his notice, as though Ethan were little more than a piece of trash that had somehow managed to cause more trouble than it was worth.
Only disdain.
"I expected more."
Ethan’s gaze remained fixed on the cultivator above him. The disdain in the man’s eyes was enough to irritate him, and the casual way he spoke only made that irritation grow.
The cultivator continued.
"You’ve caused quite a mess."
His gaze drifted across the surrounding wilderness.
"People have been searching for you for weeks. Rogue cultivators, bounty seekers, even cultivators with no connection to the sect have been willing to risk their lives for the reward on your head."
His voice carried a faint edge of contempt, as though the lengths people had gone to pursue Ethan only made the situation more amusing to him.
A faint sneer touched his lips.
"And yet here you are, running for your life."
Ethan’s jaw tightened.
Kael, the Foundation Establishment cultivator, remained high above him, standing calmly upon his flying sword. He had no reason to come any closer. From where he stood, the pressure of his cultivation already bore down on Ethan with enough force to keep him struggling beneath it. To Kael, there was simply no need to lower himself to the level of a Late Qi Refining cultivator. Remaining above him was enough to make the difference between their realms clear.
"I was told you escaped several attempts to capture you. That you killed everyone who came after you, rising your cultivation rapidly from Early Qi Refining to Late Qi Refining in an absurdly short period."
His eyes narrowed slightly.
"At first, I thought the reports had exaggerated your strength."
His gaze passed over Ethan again, lingering briefly on the clothes and the weapon at his side.
"Now that I’ve seen you, I understand." There was a faint trace of disdain in his voice.
"You’re nothing more than a blood-thirsty opportunist who found a forbidden technique and used it to take whatever he could from others. Their blood, their cultivation, their resources. Anything that could make you stronger."
His expression hardened.
"All that talk about your strength, and in the end, you’re just another demonic cultivator who found a shortcut and mistook it for ability."
The words were spoken with open disgust, as though Ethan’s very refusal to submit had become an offense in itself.
"So many people died because you refused to accept your place."
Ethan’s jaw clenched harder, but he said nothing.
The more Kael spoke the more pleased he seems to be getting with Ethan’s silence, mistaking it for the reaction of someone who had finally realized the difference between them.
"You should have surrendered when Azure Cloud first issued the order."
He looked down at Ethan as though speaking to someone beneath his notice.
"Instead, you ran."
"You killed those who pursued you."
"You continued hiding within the sect’s territory."
"And when people came for you, you slaughtered them."
His voice became colder.
"Do you understand how much trouble you’ve caused?"
Ethan’s breathing grew heavier beneath the pressure. He could feel his pulse beating in his ears, each beat seeming louder than the last as the weight pressing down on him continued to bear against his body.
Yet the cultivator above him showed no sign of stopping. He simply continued speaking, completely unconcerned by the strain Ethan was under.
"Perhaps you thought killing a few Qi Refining cultivators made you powerful."
A faint smile appeared on his lips.
"It did not. You are still nothing more than a Late Qi Refining cultivator, a slightly larger ant among countless others."
His gaze sharpened as he looked down at Ethan.
"And now you’ve met me." His gaze remained fixed on Ethan, the faint smile still lingering on his lips. "I’ll show you where you truly belong."
Something inside Ethan shifted.
The man’s words had crossed a line he had not even realized was there. The cultivator above him did not notice the change, or perhaps he simply did not care.
"You should be grateful that I was the one sent."
He raised his chin slightly.
"If the sect had sent someone more ruthless, you would already be dead."
Ethan stared at him as the pressure continued bearing down on his body. The words kept coming, each one pushing harder against something that had been building inside him since the beginning of his journey. He had endured bounty hunters chasing him across unfamiliar territory, attacks from people who knew nothing about him, and the constant accusation that he was a demonic cultivator. He had accepted all of it because he had understood the situation he was in. But now this man stood above him, speaking as though Ethan had spent all this time terrorizing innocent people simply for his own amusement.
Something hot rose through Ethan’s chest as his hands slowly curled into fists.
Kael continued.
"You’ve killed enough people."
"You’ve run far enough."
"Whatever blood technique you’re relying on, it ends here."
Ethan’s eyes narrowed.
The man’s expression carried the certainty of someone who had already decided the outcome.
"You should have known better than to challenge Azure Cloud Sect."
That part works better if the narration stays close to Ethan’s rising anger without interrupting the rhythm. I would keep all your dialogue exactly as written and refine only the connective narration:
That was the last straw.
Ethan’s head lifted.
"Challenge?"
His voice was low.
The cultivator paused.
Ethan’s chest rose and fell as he fought to keep his anger under control.
"What the hell are you talking about?"
The man’s brows furrowed slightly.
Ethan’s voice rose.
"I was minding my own business!"
The shout echoed through the clearing.
For the first time, the calm expression on the cultivator’s face changed.
Ethan stepped forward despite the pressure crushing down on him.
"I was cultivating. I was experimenting with my own techniques. I wasn’t hunting anyone!"
His voice carried through the trees.
"Yes, I bought blood. I paid for it. I didn’t kill anyone for it!"
His eyes burned.
"I secluded myself because I wanted to cultivate in peace. Then you people came looking for me!"
His fist trembled.
"They attacked me first!"
The cultivator’s expression darkened.
Ethan didn’t stop.
"Attack after attack. They kept coming after me!"
He pointed toward the man above him.
"And when I escaped, did I chase them?"
"No!"
"Did I go looking for your sect disciples who attacked me?"
"No!"
His voice cracked through the clearing.
"I ran!"
The pressure pressed harder against his body.
Ethan’s muscles trembled beneath the crushing force, but he refused to kneel.
"I left them alone, and they still came after me!"
His eyes were burning now.
" put a bounty on my head!"
He laughed once, but there was no humor in it.
"What exactly did you expect me to do?"
"Stand there and let them kill me?"
"Lie down and wait for someone to cut off my head so they could collect your precious bounty?"
The cultivator’s expression became colder.
Ethan’s anger continued spilling out.
"I didn’t ask for any of this!"
"I didn’t ask for your sect to decide that I’m some kind of Blood Demon!"
"I didn’t ask your people to chase me across half the region!"
"And when they came to kill me, what was I supposed to do?"
"Let them?"
The words came faster now.
His restraint was gone.
"Your sect couldn’t even control its own territory, and now you’re blaming me for what happened when your own territory was already crawling with demonic cultivators!"
The cultivator’s eyes narrowed, but the change went deeper than that. Ethan’s words had struck at something he clearly did not want brought up. The image of demonic cultivators running rampant within Azure Cloud’s territory, killing people and leaving the sect scrambling to deal with the aftermath, was not something any Azure Cloud cultivator would take lightly.
Having Ethan throw that failure directly at him, while standing beneath the very pressure meant to show the difference between them, made the words feel like salt rubbed into an open wound.
Ethan’s voice dropped.
"I didn’t start this."
He stared directly at the man.
"Your people did."
Silence followed.
