Chapter 2099: Chapter 2097: Enemies Meet Face to Face
Boundary Mountain.
Stretching across the Southern lands, the north of Boundary Mountain mainly falls within the power domain of Ancestor Dragon City, while the south is traditionally the territory of the Demon Clan.
Over two hundred years ago, after the decisive battle, the power domain of Ancestor Dragon City considerably receded. Except for the four border passes, the area within three thousand miles almost returned to its primal state, sparsely inhabited.
In the barbaric south of Boundary Mountain, the Demon Clan also significantly retreated their power range, even surrendering ten thousand miles of wilderness, retracting their forces back to the corners of the earth.
The humans of Ancestor Dragon City and the demons of the barbaric lands are all amassing strength, waiting for the spark of the next war.
This mountain range resembling a sleeping dragon, connecting the Southwest hundred thousand mountains, has thus become a dividing line.
Near the Abyss Great Canyon area of Boundary Mountain, the mountain formation is steep. Although it doesn’t spread more than twenty to thirty miles wide, it stands wall-like at a thousand fathoms, extremely challenging to traverse.
Only extending southwest for one hundred miles does the mountain formation widen, with some valleys and river routes available for crossing.
"Careful, this place seems to be set with an array."
Zhuge Xuanji suddenly raised his hand, looking at the river path ahead with trickling water.
"Oh."
Li Feng stepped forward, gazing at the rather wide river path, estimating a width of at least a hundred meters, though the water occupied only a third, leaving many rocks exposed, suggesting a scarcity of water flow.
Before Li Feng could speak, Yang Feixue crouched down and touched the exposed rock nearby: "There’s still moisture on this rock, and look at the shape of the stone; it’s been polished very smooth by the water, so the water in this river path should be more than just this."
Zhuge Xuanji looked towards the front of the river path: "Here should be arranged with a Water Dragon Formation. If an army barges in, once this formation activates, ha, no matter how many come, all will be swallowed."
"Someone from Ancestor Dragon City must be nearby."
Zhuge Xuanji turned to look at Li Feng: "Your turn to step forward."
Li Feng shrugged his shoulders, directly tiptoed off the ground, soared with wings airborne, then flew above the river path, scanning the dense woods on both sides, then shouted loudly.
"I, Feng Yang, had battled Guardian Ouyang at the First Line Pass days ago. Today, I come with urgent matters to discuss with Guardian Ouyang."
"Please report to Guardian Ouyang immediately; we await here respectfully."
Having said that, Li Feng swiftly turned around back to the river path, with no intention of delving deeper. Meanwhile, in a hidden array on an adjacent mountain, several Ancestor Dragon cultivators heard Li Feng’s shout and saw them within the Water Dragon Formation’s impact range.
"What important matter does a demon want with Guardian Ouyang?"
"You asked me, how should I know? Feng Yang fiercely attacked our First Line Pass before, causing severe losses, and then exchanged a few moves with Guardian Ouyang, showing considerable strength."
"Should we convey the message for him?"
The few exchanged glances, then one looked at the hundred-person group Li Feng led, stationed nearby.
"Although unsure of his intention, it’s still best to report to the Guardian and let him decide. Moreover, the Water Dragon Formation is effective against armies, but not against such a small group, especially Feng Yang, whom the formation barely threatens."
"I’ll go inform."
"Hurry back."
Soon, a Sword Cultivator soared from the rear mountain, riding a Flying Sword, rushing onwards.
First Line Pass Garrison.
The news quickly reached Ouyang Tianshu’s ears. At present, battles continue outside the First Line Pass, though smaller in scale due to the narrow mountain path, unsuited for army assaults.
Yet these small-scale skirmishes are even more brutal and bloody.
Others might not know who Feng Yang is, but Ouyang Tianshu does distinctly. Currently, Feng Yang’s forces are fiercely attacking First Line Pass, while Li Feng sends a message wanting to meet him, pushing him to ponder thoroughly.
Ouyang Tianshu can’t quite grasp Li Feng’s current stance but couldn’t outright ignore him either. Regardless of Li Feng’s current alignment, he saw the merit in a meeting.
Of course, Ouyang Tianshu won’t rashly go solo; after some thought, he decided.
An hour later.
A Sword Cultivator crossed the river valley, appearing in front of Li Feng’s group: "Feng Yang of the Fire Phoenix Clan, my Guardian agreed to see you, but not here. Follow me."
With that, the Sword Cultivator swiftly turned.
"Let’s go."
Li Feng was not surprised by this turn; should Ouyang Tianshu recklessly come alone, Li Feng wouldn’t know whether to admire his bravery or self-assurance.
Boundary Mountain North Slope.
The Sword Cultivator led Li Feng’s group straight towards the First Line North Camp, where Ancestor Dragon City stationed ten thousand cultivators.
While flying, the Sword Cultivator occasionally glanced back, pondering if meeting directly in the camp might intimidate them; would they dare approach?
But as the Guardian ordered, although doubtful, the Sword Cultivator complied, even poised to mock when they hesitated.
Yet the camp came into view, and they silently followed, fearing not of being stuck here?
"They’re here."
Within the camp.
Tang Lin lifted his gaze at the approaching group, renowned as a War General Camp Master among the garrison, well-informed, moreover Ouyang Tianshu wasn’t secreting this arrival.
Intentionally letting Li Feng’s arrival spread, as previously at the First Line Pass, he humiliated him and flaunted a stance of differing beliefs; now he’s audacious.
Thus, don’t blame the Guardian for deploying measures.
Beside Tang Lin, Yang Dian ground his teeth; previously at First Line Pass, Li Feng single-handedly shattered the Shaking Mountain Camp’s array, disgracing them, becoming his stepping stone to fame while Yang Dian became a defeated general.
To die in battle would be feasible, yet the opponent spared him, signifying what?
Looked down upon.
Yang Dian thus held a grudge, dwelling on this issue.
"I saw them."
Yang Dian promptly grasped his war blade, marching forth, Tang Lin followed hastily: "Hey Yang fool, are you really challenging him now?"
"Hmph, as one of the Yang Family, I’d rather die standing than live kneeling."
"Uh, he hasn’t asked you to kneel."
Tang Lin sighed, regretting informing Yang the fool as clearly he’s not a match for the opponent, challenging now, sort of self-humiliating.
"My Guardian awaits you all within the camp; dare you enter?" queried the guiding Sword Cultivator, addressing Li Feng’s contingent.
"Ha, why wouldn’t I dare."
Li Feng smiled faintly.
"Interesting, interesting. I wish to gauge the current strength of Ancestor Dragon City’s warriors." Yang Feixue appeared eager.
"Hmph, won’t disappoint." Coldly, the Sword Cultivator smirked, clearly perceiving Yang Feixue’s comment as provocation.
