Chapter 1946: Chapter 1945: Swearing Allegiance to the Master

As the Clan Leader of the tribe, Shi Xing chose to surrender, and all the other Kobolds laid down their weapons as well. After all, they had already witnessed the power of these human cultivators, not to mention the Horned Rhinoceros surrounding them could trample over at any moment.

Even the Porcupine Warriors, who were bulkier and had tougher skin than them, were crushed into a pulp, let alone them.

"This will be the most correct decision in your dog life."

Li Feng offered Shi Xing a faint smile, though to Shi Xing, this smile seemed a bit eerie.

"Yes, Master, I wonder if you have any orders for us."

Shi Xing resumed his previous submissive, deferential posture. Being under another’s roof, even if the other party promised to spare them and not kill them, he considered such promises as rubbish.

As a dog, one must be pragmatic.

"Don’t call me Master, call me Camp Master."

Li Feng said.

On the side, Lei Ba stepped forward, saying to Shi Xing, "Hmm, shouldn’t you express your gratitude, knowing who our Camp Master is? He is the unparalleled genius of Ancestor Dragon City seen in a century. Have you heard of the Martial Strategy Hall of the Nine Layers Mountain?"

"Our Camp Master is rated as an unmatched Commander by the Martial Strategy Hall. And do you know why we are here?"

Shi Xing looked up at Lei Ba, who continued boastfully, "To the south is the Molten Lava Land, where our Camp Master led us to find the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple, and there he even encountered Emperor Yue, the son of the Demon Emperor from your Demon Country."

"Emperor Yue, the third prince of the Demon Emperor, known as the top expert of the new generation in the Demon Country, Dragon List’s top master." Shi Xing couldn’t have not heard of Emperor Yue, a name that resonates throughout the Demon Country, leaving no room for ordinary beings, all powerful descendents of the Demon Clan.

His Kobold tribe wasn’t even worthy to lick shoes.

"Hmm, first master my ass, wasn’t he defeated by our Camp Master, only managing to escape with a few stray cats."

"See the eruption of that Molten Lava Volcano? It was caused by our Camp Master and Emperor Yue’s battle. If it weren’t for the volcanic eruption, Emperor Yue would have been left at the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple."

Lei Ba bragged without blinking, and such certainly spoken words deeply shocked Shi Xing. If the surrender before was out of necessity, his mind was not truly willing.

But after hearing Lei Ba’s words, Shi Xing’s heart changed somewhat. He had heard of Nine Layers Mountain of Ancestor Dragon City; it was the cradle for the city’s army, and Martial Strategy Hall was mystical, able to rate a person’s talent.

To be rated as a Commander was to be a future star within Ancestor Dragon City, its supporting pillar. Ancestor Dragon City had almost been captured multiple times, saved only by Commanders that turned the tide, repelling the advances of the Demon Country, causing heavy losses.

Such rare Commanders were always the prime target of the Demon Country, with efforts made to have them killed.

"Is this true?" Shi Xing couldn’t quite believe it; how could someone with such a Commander tone take personal risks?

"Hmm, are you questioning our Camp Master’s identity?"

"No, I wouldn’t dare...!" Shi Xing quickly said he wouldn’t dare. At this point, Sikong Yu stepped forward, "It’s true, I am Sikong Yu from the Sikong family of Ancestor Dragon City. You may not have heard of me, but surely you’ve heard of the Vermilion Bird Family."

Shi Xing hurriedly nodded; the illustrious name of the Vermilion Bird Family was too well-known not to have heard of, an existence that made children cry in the Demon Country.

With such an unparalleled beauty following by the side, with such high status and position, the words just spoken were evidently true.

Understanding this, Shi Xing knelt immediately, "Worthy Master, we were ignorant and blind. From today on, I, Shi Xing, am the Master’s most loyal dog, willing to follow the Master’s lead. I hope Master grants me this."

This time Shi Xing was genuinely convinced. Staying in the Demon Country meant they were only labor or cannon fodder among non-prominent tribes, inevitably leading to death; even heroic battles only won them a few more bones.

Because of their bloodline, they would never catch the attention of higher bloodline tribes, not even given a chance to be dogs.

Now, though the person in front of him was from Ancestor Dragon City, his future was boundless, making alignment unreliable; the surest path was as a servant.

Sikong Yu hadn’t expected the Kobold Shi Xing to be this self-aware, and turned to Li Feng wanting to stop him since establishing such a master-servant relationship wasn’t easy, and once done, Li Feng would be responsible for these Kobold Demon Clan in the future.

Li Feng seemed not to notice Sikong Yu’s looks, stepped forward, "Rise, I agree."

"From now on, you are my servant."

"Thank you, Master, for granting this."

Shi Xing stood, somewhat ecstatic, feeling a different spirit in him.

"Master, my Stone Gate tribe has dozens of Warriors. Though not many, we Kobold Warriors have keen senses and excel as Scouts. We will protect the Master thoroughly in the future."

Li Feng glanced at Shi Xing and hummed.

"Good, you manage your people well. Since you pledge allegiance to me, I won’t treat you poorly. There are many Horned Rhinoceros, plenty of resources to choose from."

"Lan, have the Personal Guard Camp rest for an hour, set up to cook a meal," Li Feng turned to Lan, adept at organization.

"Yes."

Shi Xing left with his tribe to gather supplies. Once Shi Xing was far, Sikong Yu pulled Li Feng aside, "Why do you act so casually? They are from the Demon Clan. Have you thought about how to explain when you return to Ancestor Dragon City?"

Li Feng turned to Sikong Yu, "Is there a rule in Ancestor Dragon City against having servants?"

"Servants can be had, but Demon Clan...!"

"Remember, a great battle between Ancestor Dragon City and the Demon Clan is imminent. If you bring these demon clans back, do you think anyone will agree? Humans and demons are irreconcilable. If someone eliminates them, will you intervene or not?"

Sikong Yu understood well how the Demon Clan was viewed by cultivators in Ancestor Dragon City; they couldn’t coexist at all. Almost all caught demon clansmen had only one fate: to be killed in the Duel Arena.

The deep hatred for the Demon Clan stems from the betrayal over two hundred years ago. Though many cultivator families fused with bloodlines to turn traitor, many surrendered demon clans turned on them as well.

That battle resulted in Ancestor Dragon City’s blood flowing like a river, almost leading to defeat. The aftermath involved indiscriminate cleansing; after that, there were hardly any surviving demon clans within Ancestor Dragon City.

"Heh, hitting the dog depends on the owner, I will certainly intervene," Li Feng said.

Sikong Yu rolled her eyes, knowing it would be like this, "But have you considered it? Offending cultivators of Ancestor Dragon City for a demon clan servant, what will everyone think of you then?"
