Chapter 1930: Chapter 1929: Reunion

The entire Molten Lava Land presented an apocalyptic scene, with lava flowing down from the Molten Lava Volcano and converging into Lake at the foot of the mountain. At this rate, it wouldn’t stop for at least ten days or half a month.

Taking advantage of the temporary calm of the Molten Lava Volcano, Li Feng once again used a rope ladder to lead everyone through the Molten Lava Land. Despite the fact that this place resembled hell, there were almost no obstacles; barely one in ten of the molten creatures survived the recent apocalyptic scene, and those who did quickly fled in all directions.

The four major lords guarding this place on all sides were all severely weakened: Bi Fang had suffered severe damages and followed Sikong Yu, while the Ant Queen was injured by Li Feng. Given the current scenario, the ant swarm was likely hit hard too; at least during the entire flight, Li Feng hadn’t seen a single member of the Ant Race.

Apart from having to dodge small volcanoes along the way, the path out was exceptionally smooth. It took half a day to cover the several hundred miles, and the Half Border Mountain that separates the wilderness from the Molten Lava Land was already in sight.

With Half Border Mountain as a reference, Li Feng quickly located the gorge where the path lay.

"Camp Master."

The trusted aides who stayed behind saw Li Feng’s group and called out excitedly. After all, with the scene of the volcanic eruption, these trusted aides guarding the Half Border Mountain were very worried, and seeing Li Feng’s group now put them at ease.

Lei Ba and others jumped down one after another and entered the underground passage, with Li Feng following closely behind. When they reached the resting place, everyone felt a sense of relief.

Li Feng now had time to summarize the losses and gains of this trip.

"Everyone."

Li Feng opened his mouth to speak, and the surrounding trusted aides lifted their eyes to look at him, waiting for him to speak. They weren’t blind; fifty people went out on the mission, but less than ten returned. As for the fate of the others, it was self-evident.

"This journey to the Molten Lava Volcano in search of the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple cost us many brothers. Despite facing strong enemies and numerous dangers, they all demonstrated great courage and a fearless determination. I am proud to have such trusted aides and bow my head for three minutes in mourning for these brothers."

After saying this, Li Feng lowered his head.

The trusted aides looked at Li Feng with slight surprise. Although it wasn’t the first time they were honored by him like this, his words still stirred the impulse to serve a confidant to death in their hearts.

They were just a group of insignificant ants who could die at any moment. After the battle in the wilderness, Li Feng had held a funeral, and this time, many didn’t even have their bodies brought back.

But the first thing Li Feng did upon returning was to mourn them, which was enough to settle any thoughts they had.

Three minutes.

Everyone bowed their heads in silence, even though many of them weren’t very familiar with each other. After all, in a place like the Duel Arena, they could be each other’s mortal enemies in the next second, and no one would make friends there.

But after following Li Feng, they were no longer so indifferent. The wilderness battle made everyone start to rely on each other, even becoming comrades.

Li Feng was using this method to gather the souls of these Death Soldiers. Outside, the reason he could travel across the vast continents of Sihai was that he relied on a group of Dragon Guards who served him, and this group was his most important force.

In this Kunlun World, to establish himself, Li Feng also needed allies. The great families were unreliable; these Death Soldiers from the Duel Arena were undoubtedly the best targets to win over.

Li Feng believed that as long as he respected them enough and brought them honor and dignity, these people would become his right-hand men.

And now, after this journey of thousands of miles and the difficult challenges of finding the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple, these people were standing by Li Feng’s side. Nothing was more reliable than sharing hardships and coming through life and death together.

After three minutes, Li Feng slowly raised his head and looked at the trusted aides in front of him: "Although many brothers were injured or killed during this mission, the trip was not without its rewards."

"We found the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple. Despite encountering many unexpected situations and running into the elite of the Demon Clan from the Demon Country, we still managed to leave alive."

Li Feng glanced over the crowd and took a breath before continuing: "Although the Vermilion Bird has not yet revived, I obtained the egg into which the Vermilion Bird transformed."

Upon hearing Li Feng admit this himself, Ouyang Qiuhai bit her lip and whispered to Sikong Yu: "As expected, he got it."

Sikong Yu wasn’t the least bit surprised. She had already anticipated this. The strength Li Feng displayed in his exchanges with Emperor Yue far surpassed his previous demonstrations. The current Li Feng seemed to have reached a height beyond her reach.

Looking at the crowd, Li Feng continued: "Two hundred years ago, there was a Vermilion Bird War Corps based primarily out of our Ancestor Dragon City’s cultivators. I believe some of you may have heard of them. The warriors in the Vermilion Bird War Corps almost all possessed the Vermilion Bird Bloodline, practiced Fire Element Combat Skills and Cultivation Techniques, and have always been one of the most elite war corps of Ancestor Dragon City."

"What’s this guy getting at?" Ouyang Qiuhai continued to mutter quietly.

The Vermilion Bird War Corps was indeed jointly established by the Vermilion Bird Holy Temple and Ancestor Dragon City, and the number of this war corps was only in the hundreds, but they were all descendants of the Sikong family because only the descendants of the Sikong family had a high probability of awakening the Vermilion Bird Bloodline.

This war corps was also the result of the Sikong family’s accumulation over centuries. At the time, entering this war corps was a great honor for the Sikong family, and all branches of the Sikong family, including both the main and auxiliary lines, had members joining.

In the battle two hundred years ago, the Vermilion Bird War Corps was almost completely destroyed, and almost every household in the Sikong family was in mourning. Since then, the family business that flourished for centuries began to decline. If not for that battle, which nearly emptied the Sikong family, threatening their unity, the Sikong family might have long been ousted from their position as a First Rank family.

But no matter how abundant the remnants, they could not withstand the erosion of time. Over two hundred years, the Sikong family had not been able to rise again. Among the descendants, less than one in ten could awaken the Vermilion Bird Bloodline, and the entire family was in decline, to the point where they had to rely on a woman like her to support the facade.

This is why Sikong Yu, even knowing full well the risks, chose to go with Li Feng in search of the Vermilion Bird Sacred Land. It was not only a pilgrimage but also the only way to revive the former glory of the Sikong family.

Sikong Yu stared at Li Feng. Although the Vermilion Bird had not yet revived, which was a bit regrettable, the existence of the Vermilion Bird egg still represented a huge hope. However, she also knew that taking the Vermilion Bird egg from Li Feng was obviously unrealistic.

As for using force or pressure, Sikong Yu internally dismissed it. Such a method would undoubtedly be the most foolish.

While Sikong Yu was deep in thought, Li Feng remained unaffected: "However, with your current strength, directly attempting to inherit the Vermilion Bird Bloodline is extremely difficult. The requirements for bloodline fusion are very high, and if not successful, you would be countered by the departing flames, turning to ash in an instant."

"Li Feng, if you truly intend to rebuild the Vermilion Bird War Corps, it’s not impossible, but it cannot rely on them. It seems you have forgotten that the Vermilion Bird Bloodline in Ancestor Dragon City is solely within the Sikong family, and the previous generation of the Vermilion Bird War Corps consisted entirely of Sikong family cultivators, which already proves this point."

Sikong Yu did not speak, but Ouyang Qiuhai stepped forward and addressed Li Feng.
