Urban Supreme Evil Young Master
Chapter 1311 - 1310: Not Enough Brains
The moment those agents rushed out, their movements were incredibly swift and fluid, clearly the result of countless drills to achieve such speed and reflexes.
Looks like Arthur had already made all the corresponding preparations and plans before this round of talks even began.
As his gaze swept over the weapons all aimed at him, Lu Yu stood there like an unmoving rock, utterly unruffled by the scene, as if what stood before him was just a bunch of children holding toy guns.
"Looks like—"
After his eyes skimmed over the weapons in front of him, Lu Yu's gaze finally landed on Arthur. He stared at Arthur and said, "From the very beginning, you were planning to make a move on me!"
While he spoke, there was still not a trace of emotion in Lu Yu's voice. Looking at Arthur, he sounded as cold and indifferent as a block of solid ice, releasing a chill that could make people tremble.
Although Military Intelligence Six's guards were all around, their job was to protect the safety of these politicians. Even if they had to move against Lu Yu and his people, they would be standing by the politicians' side, not actively closing in like this.
After all, to those guards, protecting the politicians' safety was far more important than swarming Lu Yu.
It was from this alone that Lu Yu knew, without a doubt, that this was a pre-set ambush laid by Arthur—so that if the negotiation broke down, they could all rush in at once and kill Lu Yu on the spot.
"So what if it is?"
Hearing Lu Yu's words, Arthur admitted without the slightest hesitation. Staring at Lu Yu, he looked utterly resolute. "If we can capture a high-ranking member of the Assassin Alliance, I don't think our merit will be small!"
As he spoke, Arthur's eyes were full of steely resolve. He was looking at Lu Yu the way a hunter eyes his prey, visibly excited.
"You've done the math quite nicely."
Hearing Arthur, Lu Yu let out a cold sneer. He shook his head, then said, "Seems politicians are all the same no matter where they're from—one thing in the open, another thing behind the scenes!"
As he spoke, there was a biting edge in his voice, layered with heavy sarcasm.
"Young man, I don't know how you climbed up to the higher ranks of the Assassin Alliance. Maybe your strength is impressive, but in my eyes, your brain really doesn't cut it!"
Looking at Lu Yu, Arthur's eyes turned icy. He carried the air of someone in full control of the board. "Politicians from any country are indeed all the same, and their traits are shockingly alike."
"Which is, out of ten sentences they speak, nine and a half are lies."
As he spoke, Arthur's naturally imposing face held a faintly mocking expression. Looking at Lu Yu now, there was a hint of world-weary irony between his lines.
Not enough brain?
Hearing Arthur's words, Heaton's expression changed. He looked at Arthur, his eyes filled with deep disappointment and shock.
Even Heaton was stunned—Arthur, who usually seemed so sharp and shrewd, turned out to be such an idiot!
Lu Yu was a high-ranking figure in the Assassin Alliance and a disciple of Belmont III. How could someone like that possibly be lacking in brains?
Putting everything else aside, just the way Lu Yu had forced him to hand over the old files with a few short sentences already proved that this man was anything but a fool.
Not only that, even now, surrounded by so many guns, Lu Yu was still calm and composed. That alone meant he definitely had some hidden card. Otherwise, there was no way he'd be this steady and at ease.
"My brain doesn't cut it?"
Hearing Arthur's words, the corner of Lu Yu's mouth curled up into a smile. He shook his head as he chuckled, looked at Arthur, and sighed, "It's been a long time since I've heard that one!"
There was a hint of reminiscence in his tone. He slowly lifted his head, staring at the ceiling of the huge conference hall, let out a deep breath, then said, "The last time someone said that to me was five years ago."
His voice was low, his words weighed down with a heavy undertone.
"But…"
Here, Lu Yu paused for a beat. His eyes locked straight onto Arthur as he said, "Ever since then, I've had nothing to do with that kind of label."
As he spoke, a cold light flickered in his eyes, carrying a sharp, chilling edge.
"Nothing to do with it?"
Hearing this, Arthur's gaze filled with ridicule. He stared at Lu Yu, let out a cold laugh, and said, "Open your eyes and look around you. Do you think you're still qualified to say something like that?"
His voice dropped low as he went on, "You're already surrounded by us. You're a bird in a cage now, with no chance of escape at all!"
"In a situation like this, you still dare claim you have nothing to do with being brainless!?"
Arthur's tone was low and icy, every word dripping with a gloomy, frigid mockery.
In Arthur's eyes, Lu Yu's current predicament was completely due to being careless and complacent. A man like that was clearly all brawn and no brains.
"Is that so?"
Hearing Arthur, Lu Yu's lips hooked into a sinister smile. He shook his head and said to Burn beside him, "Burn, show him."
His voice carried a cold, mocking edge.
"Yes, my lord!"
Hearing Lu Yu, Burn gave a sharp nod. Just as he was about to move, a group of armed agents rushed up and surrounded him.
"Let's see who the hell dares lay a finger on me!"
Just as those agents closed in, Burn bellowed, his body shaking as he tore off his upper garment.
In an instant, the things wrapped around his body—one after another, like scrolls filled with green liquid—were fully exposed before everyone's eyes, a sight that was shockingly intense at first glance!
