Chapter 694: Chapter 358: Yuan Fei Challenges and Dominates with One Move_2

With a thunderous boom, the blood-red spear was bent into a half-circle by the blast, and finally, the powerful rebounding force erupted, sending Duanmu Bo flying backward.

Yuan Fei seized the moment and appeared above Duanmu Bo, slamming down with his staff again, forcefully smashing Duanmu Bo into the battle platform, causing ripples of mysterious light to scatter across its surface.

Duanmu Bo half-kneeled on the battle platform, looking at Yuan Fei, who was in his Demonic Ape state, with an incredibly ugly look on his face.

He couldn’t believe that after the opponent’s breakthrough to the fourth level of the Heavenly Human Realm, his strength had soared to such terrifying levels.

“Triple Jue Tian Staff!” Yuan Fei bellowed. The black staff that was pressing down from the void trembled violently, then the surging Rules burst forth, transforming into three fearsome black staffs that all slammed down thunderously.

Faced with this terrifying staff Divine Ability, Duanmu Bo dared not underestimate it. His flesh rapidly regenerated, and then the power of Cave Heaven surged, enhancing his spear and releasing multitudes of spear shadows.

This was a fierce collision. The battle platform shook, various lights danced, endless Runes glowed and then extinguished, and Rules condensed and then perished.

For a time, the two fought equally, the battle incredibly brutal, both parties covered in wounds, with not a single spot unscathed.

However, relatively speaking, Yuan Fei’s physical body was stronger, recovered faster, and was more resilient in battle.

After fighting for hundreds of moves, Duanmu Bo grunted, taking to the air, his arms broken, his physical body shattered, blood flowing.

At this moment, the World Power within his Cave Heaven was nearly depleted, unable to condense the Rules, requiring at least half a month of recuperation to fully recover.

On the other side, Yuan Fei had already exited his Great Ape Demon Body state, covered in blood, his physical body in tatters, but his eyes were still bright and spirited.

“Heh heh, I, Old Yuan, won this battle.” He grinned, inadvertently pulling at his wounds, causing him to involuntarily take a deep breath from the pain.

“Hmph, just your luck!” Although Duanmu Bo felt some reluctance, he was out of strength and his Cave Heaven was showing signs of collapse, forcing him to admit defeat.

Delaying recovery and neglecting his injuries would surely affect his future potential.

After the battle, the Steward in charge of Battle Platform No.3 handed over the wagered Origin Stones to Yuan Fei.

“Congratulations, Junior Brother Yuan.”

“Good job, Junior Brother Yuan Fei.”

Many people congratulated Yuan Fei as he stepped down from the platform.

For the past year, he had frequently fought on the battle platform and was a familiar figure there; many people recognized this formidable individual.

Having become an Official Disciple in just over a year, he had consecutively broken through the second and third levels of the Heavenly Human Realm, and now he had advanced again during battle. With such talent, he was among the most prominent of the new disciples, naturally drawing others to befriend him.

Yuan Fei, however, merely exchanged brief pleasantries with everyone before preparing to leave.

This battle not only brought him a successful breakthrough, but he also garnered considerable gains in Divine Abilities, which he needed to digest promptly. He had no intention of wasting time on these people.

However, just as he stepped out of the battle area, he saw a youth with starry eyes and a vibrant spirit.

“You… you’re Brother Lu Yun?”

Yuan Fei spoke with some hesitation; he couldn’t believe that Lu Yun, who had been missing for so long, had reappeared before him.

According to the news from the Inheritance Hall Steward, the Cold Lake Origin Vein where Lu Yun was stationed had been attacked by other forces. Aside from one True Spirit Realm Elder who escaped, all other disciples and Stewards had lost contact.

Everyone knew that losing contact in such a situation meant perishing.

“Brother Yuan Fei, congratulations on breaking through to the fourth level of the Heavenly Human Realm!” Lu Yun walked over, heavily patting Yuan Fei’s shoulder twice, smiling: “I’ve been waiting for you for a long time. Let’s head back together!”

At this point, Yuan Fei could no longer deny what had happened, immediately laughing aloud: “Ha ha, I knew that Brother Lu Yun, with his god-given martial prowess, wouldn’t fall so easily.”

After returning to the Palace where the four of them lived, Yuan Fei pulled out Li Zhichang and Wei Xinhuh, who were in seclusion cultivating, and held a feast to celebrate.

Wei Xinhuh was a hearty man, and upon learning of Lu Yun’s return, he was overjoyed, bringing out his long-cherished Thousand-Leaf Spirit Wine.

“Today brings double happiness—one, the return of brother Lu Yun to Green Flame Palace after overcoming numerous hardships, and two, brother Yuan Fei’s breakthrough to the fourth level of the Heavenly Human Realm. Congratulations are in order!”

“My breakthrough is a minor matter. The safe return of brother Lu Yun is what truly counts. I toast to brother Lu Yun.”

With that, Yuan Fei boldly drained his cup in one gulp.

Watching the trio of Yuan Fei drink merrily and with such excitement, Lu Yun felt an inexplicable warmth in his heart. He had not expected to occupy such a significant place in their hearts.

After all, though they resided in the same palace for several months, most of that time was spent buried in their own cultivation.

Apart from attending sessions in the Instruction Hall and selecting Divine Abilities in the Inheritance Hall, they spent little time interacting with each other. Logically, their emotional bonds shouldn’t have been so strong.

At least, that was what Lu Yun had previously thought.

However, judging from the current situation, whether it was Yuan Fei, Wei Xinhuh, or Li Zhichang, they were all extremely joyful and excited about his safe return to Green Flame Palace. The smiles on their faces could not be feigned.

After a bout of hearty drinking, Yuan Fei’s combative nature once again came to the fore, and after some pestering, he dragged Lu Yun to the combat room.

Wei Xinhuh and Li Zhichang were also quite interested in Lu Yun’s current strength and followed along to join in the excitement.

“Lu Yun, do you know? I’ve been waiting for this battle for a long time,” Yuan Fei declared, his gaze intense as they stood on the battle platform in the combat room.

“I’ve heard you often hone your skills on the battle platform, having nearly a hundred fights or so. Why the insistence on fighting me?” asked Lu Yun.

“You’re different from them. You were the first person I wanted to challenge upon entering Green Flame Palace, and the first one I felt I couldn’t catch up with.” Yuan Fei’s eyes burned with desire as his muscles crackled.

Lu Yun smiled faintly, a barely perceptible smile flickering at the corner of his eye. “In that case, go ahead and make your move!”

“Good!”

Yuan Fei roared like a Demonic Ape, leaping forth and throwing a punch directly ahead, relying purely on physical strength.

Seeing this, Lu Yun remained unperturbed, extending his right hand to effortlessly block in front of him. He conjured an inexplicable Divine Power barrier that, no matter how aggressively the ape-like Yuan Fei assaulted, remained impenetrable to his fist.

“Bang!”

A dull explosion sounded, and the light within the combat room twisted slightly. Yuan Fei entered the state of the Great Ape Demon Body, his muscles bulging like mountains and emanating supreme might with each movement.

Yet, Lu Yun stood unshaken, his right palm again extended, the Divine Power barrier as stable as ever, rendering Yuan Fei’s explosive attacks ineffective.

Surprised, Yuan Fei’s fist trembled as his whole body flew backward, the floor’s Runes flashing as he made contact with the ground.

“It’s just like you, truly formidable!” exclaimed Yuan Fei, impressed, and then he shouted again as Black Flames wrapped around his body and he charged forward anew.

This time, he swung a black Spear, unleashing his physical strength to its limits. The room resonated with a piercing roar that echoed through the combat room.

In that moment, man and spear became one, entering a strange forbidden realm as if wielding heaven and earth, and the power erupted far more mightily than in any of his previous battles on the battle platform, including the one with Duanmu Bo.

With a “bang,” Lu Yun was as before, with a single palm stretched forward, a Divine Power barrier deflecting all of Yuan Fei’s strength, causing his spear to become stuck.

Seeing this, Yuan Fei’s radiance surged, the Black Flames burning even more fiercely, as he channeled the Power of the Cave Sky World, rules flowing and unleashing countless laws, all of which bolstered the pitch-black Spear.

Unfortunately, it was to no avail. The figure standing before him was unyielding, a palm placed there like an insurmountable rampart.

A muffled grunt escaped as Yuan Fei flew backward, his form staggering, and even the Spear was shaken from his grasp.

Once he steadied himself, his energy and blood roiling, a look of astonishment shone in Yuan Fei’s eyes. He stood in the distance, not making another move.
