Chapter 354 - Aunt Lin's Health Status Comes To Light
In the hospital, Chen Lihua felt so restless through out the time she arrived and the time for her to leave. She felt so disturbed by her Aunt's case that she decided to get a word out of her mouth that same day, or she wouldn't be at peace.
Chen Lihua informed Liu Longwei of her movements over the phone before going back to her Aunt's house. She called her cousin, Changming over the phone to inform her of her decision.
"Thank you so much Lihua, I will set the atmosphere before you arrive." Changming promised.
"Alright, see you in about thirty minutes." Chen Lihua said.
In about thirty and some minutes later, Chen Lihua arrived at her Aunt's house.
From the voices she was hearing from inside the house, she could tell that there was a heated argument ongoing.
"I guess she meant business when she said she would set the atmosphere." Chen Lihua said to herself in a soft voice.
"You two wait here for me." Chen Lihua said to the two bodyguards before walking into the house alone.
"Mum, you need to tell us what is wrong with you! We are your family and you need to talk to us about certain issues in your life, your health is an example." Changming said worriedly.
"What is wrong with you this child?! I said I'm fine and my health is at it's peak, so stop worrying yourself." Aunt Lin replied in annoyance.
"Changming, you need to calm down. Your mother said she is fine, so maybe she is fine." Huiqing said from the side.
"Father, Mum is very sick. But the worst part of it, is that she is trying really hard to hide that fact from all of us!." Changming said in a anger as she glanced between her father and mother.
"I am worried about your mother just like you. I also asked your mother about her wealth, and she told me the same thing she just said now. So why do you keep saying she is sick?." Huiqing asked curiously.
Obviously, his daughter wouldn't keep hammering on her mother's health from nowhere. Something has to be wrong!.
"Mum's diet changed suddenly, which she has never done before". Changming said and Aunt Lin cut her off immediately.
"Am I not allowed to change my diet at my own will?."
Changming ignored her and continued. "You always look so tired and worn out these days, any little thing you do, tires you out."
"Who told you that?." Aunt Lin asked.
"Well it's very obvious. And I confirmed it when I followed you to the park the other day, and there I found out that you've been lying about that too." Changming said in a huff.
"You followed your mother to the park, what happened there? Why are you calling her a liar." HuiQing asked, as he started to become alarmed.
Changming went ahead to recount the two times she went to the park, and what transpired there, as she watched her mother with a shocked expression on her face, before she covered it up with a mask of indifference.
"That doesn't mean anything. You know what, I am tired of your talks, I need to go and get some sleep." Aunt Lin said as she tried to get up from the couch, but her daughter's next words stopped her.
"Yeah, run away like you've been doing." Changming said angrily as she sat on the couch.
"I am not trying to run away. Is just that you haven't said anything that makes sense to me." Aunt Lin said, looking at her daughter.
"Lihua actually diagnosed you even if she wasn't quite sure of what is wrong with you, but she confirmed you were seriously ill after monitoring you earlier this morning. So what do you have to say about it? Lihua is in the medical field, and she can never tell lies." Changming revealed.
"Lihua said I'm sick?." Aunt Lin asked in a weak voice.
"Yes Aunt, you are very sick, and that's why I came back seeking for more answers from you." Chen Lihua said as she walked in.
"Since I saw you this morning, my heart hasn't been at ease. I have been so worried about you, and I have thinking about you all day, and that got me so worked up. So I had to return." Chen Lihua said with a worried look.
Aunt Lin was so shocked that she couldn't say anything. 'That's right, Lihua is in the medical field, and she can easily tell that something is wrong with me. I must have overlooked that aspect'.
"Lin'er, is what your niece saying true?." HuiQing asked in an alarmed tone as he came to sit beside her, taking her hands in his.
"Don't mind her, she must have misinterpreted some things." Aunt Lin lied uneasily.
"Aunt don't say that. You know I will never say what I am not sure of, to a patient. Look at you, you no longer look and act like my vibrant Aunt of the past, and you look like you've aged incredibly. That you are older than my mother by a few years, doesn't mean you should be looking so much older than her." Chen Lihua said as Aunt Lin unconsciously touched her face with her hands.
"I agree with you on that, She looks so much older now, well obviously, the spa treatments and the layers of makeup can't cover it up anymore." Changming said sarcastically out of annoyance.
Her words seemed to have stirred something deep in her mother's heart.
It caused pain to Aunt Lin if not, tears would not be rolling down her cheeks uncontrollably no matter how much effort she put in trying to wipe them away.
"Lin'er why are you crying, what happened? Is there something you are not telling us.? HuiQing confronted in a frightened voice.
Changming became worried when she saw her mother's tears. She felt so guilty for bringing tears to her mother's eyes through her words. So she went to sit beside her mother and hugged her from the side.
"Mum, I'm so sorry. I am sorry for being so rude, stop crying." Changming apologized, almost in tears as well.
"Aunt, you need to come clean with us. We are your family, and we are here to help you through difficult times. You might be thinking that you are doing us good by not telling us your health status because you don't want us to worry. But the truth is that you are making us more worried about you because we don't know what is actually wrong with you, when we have a doubt that you are not okay. So please tell us what you are going through." Chen Lihua said in the calmest manner possible.
Aunt Lin cried softly as her daughter and the father consoled her. At this point, Chen Lihua didn't say anything to get her riled up again. She just sat on the couch and watched the family of three, allowing her Aunt to continue at her own pace.
Aunt Lin cried for a little while before finally saying in a choked up voice, shocking everybody in the house.
"I have cancer, Lung cancer."
