Chapter 181 - Don't Mention Longwei's Ex's Again.
(I am apologizing on this chapter because I skipped some things since I wasn't so sure about them i.e. the Chinese wedding traditions and also not to waste time).
Immediately they left, Lady Chen started making arrangements for Chen Lihua's reception gowns to be sent to the reception venue.
Next, she urged everyone to quicken their steps with whatever chores they were handling.
Liu Villa.
From the gates, fireworks ?were released to welcome Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei. There were happy smiles on the faces of every member of the Liu Family.
Madam Liu dropped everything she was doing and rushed out of the house with other members of the family to welcome the bride.
Old Madam Liu wanted to follow the crowd as well, but she was stopped by her granddaughter, Liu Huiling.
"Grandma just stay here, Chen Lihua isn't running away, after all, she's coming right inside. And you don't have to worry that you'll be alone because I'll be here with you". Liu Huiling said.
Old Madam Liu turned to look at her before asking thoughtfully, "Who needs you to stay with me? By the way, what are you doing here? Are you not supposed to be outside with the others to welcome your sister-in-law?"
Liu Huiling waved her hand, "She's being welcomed by some many people, and it's not like attendance is being taken, and it's not like the ceremony won't continue without my presence".
"This girl. Don't tell me you don't like your sister-in-law?" Old Madam Liu asked worriedly.
Liu Huiling frowned, "Grandma I never said anything like that. I like Lihua, and I think she's the best partner for my brother unlike that foolish ex-girlfriend of his or his white lotus first love".
Old Madam Liu heaved a sigh of relief before saying to her, "Then that's good. But you have to arrange your facial expression because those who don't know you will think you dislike your sister-in-law. And don't mention Longwei's ex's again if you don't want me to have any heart troubles".
Liu Huiling nodded in understanding.
"That's right, where is your husband? He wasn't around during the first introduction with the Chen family, and now I can't seem to catch a glimpse of his shadow". Old Madam Liu asked with a frown.
Liu Huiling whose heart was now at rest suddenly felt a raging storm in her heart. She felt a prick on her beating heart at that question.
"Grandma he's on a business trip". Liu Huiling answered with a blank look.
"Didn't you tell him about the introductory meeting with the Chen Family or about your brother's wedding that is going on currently?" Old Madam Liu implored.
"Grandma I told him about it, but he said he was busy and so went on a business trip. But he promised to be around for the White wedding". Liu Huiling answered with a tinge of annoyance in her voice.
Old Madam Liu noticed that and asked worriedly, "Is everything ok ? with your marriage?"
Liu Huiling squeezed out a smile saying, "Everything is ok Grandma".
Seeing that the old Lady was about to ask another question that may make her not to be able to calm the raging storm in her heart, She immediately interrupted her.
"Grandma, can we talk about this some other time?" She said.
It was not actually a question, neither was she seeking her opinion. She literally just made her decision.
Thankfully, Old Madam Liu understood that she didn't want to talk about it, so she tactfully shut her mouth least she offended this her short-tempered granddaughter on this celebratory occasion.
Outside, Madam Liu happily held Chen Lihua's hand as she assisted her into the house.
Chen Lihua couldn't see a thing due to the veil covering her eyes. So she relied on her husband and mother-in-law's support to walk. So they assisted her till they got into the house.
Many of the Liu family members came to say a few words of blessings to the bride.
In an hour's time, the celebration moved to the reception venue.
The Wedding Banquet was being held at one of the Seven Stars Hotels of the Liu Group, and it was paid for by the Liu Family as it was their duty.
Since It was his wedding, Liu Longwei booked the entire hotel a month ago, so that there wouldn't be any interruption whatsoever.
Guests were already flooding the venue without any problem as the entire hotel had been sealed off from the public's eyes.
At the reception venue, the guests presented their gifts and contributions to the well-dressed attendants at the entrance of the wedding hall before going inside.
This arrangement was made ahead of time to maintain order.
And this wedding was strictly on invitation. As the security positioned at the hotel had to check the names on the invitation list to see if it corresponds with the one they had in their system and also to check the facial recognition of the guests. After that, the guests would be scanned to see if there was any weapon they had that might be used to commit a crime.
As for the wedding hall, you could say that the wedding planner did a good job with the hall's decoration. At least, this is what you should expect from one of the top wedding planners in China.
The hall was indeed beautifully decorated with beautiful and valuable items. Anyone that saw this decoration would know that the families celebrating didn't lack money.
Not long after the guests were already sitting did the wedding procession arrives.
The banquet started with a brief elaboration of the newlywed's love story by the hosts. It was Lady Chen and Madam Liu's appreciation of speech for everyone present.
On the screen, pictures of Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei was displayed with a song playing.
It was a picture of the couple right from their first date to their engagement party, the two families meet up, and down to this day.
The Guests clapped their hands with smiles on their faces as the video ended.
Old Mr. Long who was present with his grandson (the one whom he wanted to match-make Chen Lihua with), didn't look too happy, but he still clapped his hands along with the other guests.
As the celebration went on, Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei were invited to the stage. And there, they did their marriage bows.
The first bow to heaven.
The second bow to their parents for raising them.
The third bow to each other for respect in their marriage life.
They also drank cross-cupped wine for the meaning of shared joy and sorrows.
Then Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei addressed each other's parents as mother and father.
By now, the two families were considered united formally.
After this, Chen Lihua and Liu Longwei changed out of their wedding clothes to their reception clothes in two of the rooms made available for them.
Chen Lihua's makeup was retouched after she changed into one of her reception gowns.
In the midst of the six-course meal, she changed into another dress. Then after the reception and when sending off the guests with Liu Longwei, she changed into the last reception dress.
There was a total of forty guests present for their wedding banquet. And each Guest went home with expensive gifts in a red double happiness bag.
