UNLIMITED SPEED

Chapter 93 93. STUMBLED

Noah’s mind buzzed at the panels’ words, and he instantly got excited because of it. ‘It seems the daggers managed to kill the beast,’ Noah thought with a sigh.

Reading the systems words about not forfeiting the advancement if he decided to turn it down now. Noah immediately chose the negative option.

He definitely was excited about finally being able to advance, but he couldn’t do it here, not right in the middle of the event.

Inspecting his body, Noah found that his body still featured a few injuries. His right shoulder was still in shambles, some of his ribs were still broken, and his knees hurt. But he would live, It seemed his body had only decided to stabilize his condition.

Glancing at the pool of blood he currently sat in, Noah shook his head. If he were still on earth he would have encountered his death multiple times during the past few months, but his speed healing; which prevented that, made him reckless.

Grunting while he stood, Noah walked towards the large hole his body had created in the barely stand building. He could still hear explosions which meant the two hours time hadn’t expired.

A tired sigh escaped his mouth when he saw glimpses of two beasts fighting a few kilometers away. Honestly he wondered why they didn’t make a run for it. After all they were free to go anywhere they wanted, the inscriptions holding them were gone for now, that was the sensible thing to do.

‘Maybe they aren’t smart enough to reason,’ Noah thought while he struggled to get down the one storey building with the stairs he found just beside the hole he created.

‘I wonder if magical beasts will ever get sentient. That would be terrifying,’ he shook his head.

Grabbing an uneven side of the wall he held on too due to the fact that a part of the stairs had crumbled. Noah clicked his tongue when it broke off, which caused him to stumble and fall, rolling on the stairs until he reached the ground floor.

Arriving on the ground floor, Noah found that his knee stopped hurting, his remaining ribs had been fixed, but his shoulder still hurt.

However immediately those pains were gone, he felt a wave of fatigue wash over him, that meant his body had used up his stamina and energy to heal his body, as though he couldn’t see himself his complexion turned pale.

Crashing on the ground just immediately after getting up, Noah immediately brought out a piece of uncooked meat from his inventory. He managed to pour electrical energy on it until it got cooked. His Mana finished at that point, but it began to regenerate.

Biting a chunk of the meat, Noah didn’t savour, as he simply chewed and swallowed. It took him over five precious minutes before he could stand, he didn’t have water but that didn’t matter for now.

Resuming his walk. Noah left the building but it immediately crumbled when a shock wave hit it. Noah was sent flying in the process, but he didn’t let that event disorient him. Keeping both his legs on the ground, Noah managed to stop his movement after he slid for a few meter.

Coughing a mouthful of blood, he glanced at the sky, an object was fast approaching his position, and he didn’t hesitate to displace himself.

Orange sparks flickered into existence around him, his body discharged waves of energy, as Noah immediately felt better, but he didn’t focus too much in that detail.

His surroundings slowed down immensely then he took a step to his left.

His figure directly crossed miles long distance in an instant, then he found himself near the edge of the city.

At this distance he couldn’t even see the explosion caused by the beast that got hurled by its opponent.

Noah sighed, shook his head and swept his gaze on his surroundings, to his surprise he realized that he was currently in the area he got teleported into when the stage started, but not a single beast had caused a rampage in it.

Noah furrowed his eyebrows pondering on the matter, but he couldn’t come up with any good reason for the beasts to not attack the area.

He pushed the issue to the back of his mind after a few seconds. He had to find James and also retrieve his daggers since they were the only weapons able to affect tier 3’s

Orange coloured lightning flickered around his body, but he suddenly decided against running at full speed, because he didn’t want to get caught unawares whenever he stopped running.

Dashing forward with all the speed his body could muster without the effects of the speed force, Noah practically became a blur due to his speed, crossing a few hundred meters in an an instant.

He ran like this for multiple minutes constantly avoiding the magic beasts rampage, but he couldn’t do that when he got to some areas in the city.

Curses escaped his mouth every time he got hit by a shock wave. He eventually cast energy armour, which barely did anything in that situation, so he let Muliix cover his chest and some other covered parts of his body.

During his troublesome journey, Noah had sighted tens of crushed bodies, and tens of barely living participants. He even saw the bloodied figure of Desmond who he had met before the event started.

Thoughts of stopping to help some of them crossed his mind, but that would only increase his workload, and he definitely didn’t want that.

After a few more minutes he found the area he had been flung from, but his expression darkened when he saw that all that remained there were just piles of rubble, all the buildings he could see for a few kilometers had been levelled starting from his position.

Though he found the body of the lion, and its state left hims shocked, but he actually expected something similar.

The lions large body had turned sickly grey, Noah also found that some parts of its body spread with the wind like dust.

Climbing the lion’s body, Noah’s leg sunk into it with each step he took, some of those former skin breaking off and dispersing into the wind.

Noah eventually found the daggers, and when he removed the blades, he was shocked to realize that they actually felt heavy, really heavy. The daggers also glowed with a dark purple light, causing Noah to immediately understand that he could kill multiple tier 3 beasts with them.

Lifting the heavy daggers, Noah jumped down the lion’s body. Unfolding his consciousness, he tried to carry the daggers with them, but couldn’t, probably because their structure was filled with tier 3 energy.

A helpless sigh escaped his mouth, inspecting his environment he could feel tinges of anger rise in his mind. If he found that James had died, he’d make sure the foolish planners of the event paid with their heads when he got stronger. 𝙚𝙙𝙣𝒐𝙫𝙚𝙡.𝙤𝙧𝒈

Luckily for the planners, Noah sighted a staggering figure in the distance from where he came from. Dashing towards the figure Noah found a not-so-badly Injured James.

“How in the world are you not dead?,” Noah asked genuinely surprised by how the young man escaped death multiple times in a row.

James shrugged his shoulders weakly, as he sat on the ground, his weak voice ringing out, “I stayed around waiting for you, but during that period I stumbled upon some other participants, and you know one of them,” James said, closing his eyes and cultivating.

Noah raised an eyebrow at the Injured man’s words, shifting his gaze to the direction James came from, Noah felt surprised to find six figures walking towards the him. Amongst them was Isabella and the young man that had entered the large room with a group behind him just before the games started.
