Chapter 89 89. DIE
The etheral slash flew towards Noah’s left side. It struck someone as a cry of pain rang out, it belonged to a man.
Noah immediately slashed again but this time at a despairing Insha. “I surrender-” she tried to say, but a dark purple slash dug into her chest. She glanced at the wound and back at Noah, the light of life leaving her eyes the next instant.
Noah rushed to the person that got the first slash. It was a man who seemed to be in the middle stage, but Noah couldn’t be certain of that, since he had dried up.
A sigh escaped his mouth, followed by the incoming figure of James. “I chased him here,” James panted.
Noah was taken aback with his words, his confusion spreading on his face.
“What. I’m good at Inscriptions, one here and there is enough to protect myself and also harm a middle staged,” James said as a triangular Inscription flickered on his armour.
Noah waved his dagger at the incredibly fast and tiny ball of water that almost struck him.
“Nice,” Noah commented while checking the meter. Although not even an hour had passed, Noah still couldn’t help but feel like the requirements won’t be met, as only 9 people in total had been eliminated.
‘How far apart were we teleported,’ Noah thought shaking his head.
The two eventually continued their run, weaving through the cities street, while also avoiding the areas with tier 3 magical beast.
Noah also wondered why those beasts were even present to begin with, and the fact that he couldn’t sense them worried him.
Their run continued for over an hour, not encountering a single person. Noah managed to enjoy the view of the old city, and also its size.
The mental map made a whole section in his mind which was meant for the city, each street he passed would be added to the map, following his exact speed.
Noah wondered if he could forget any of those Information, as it was just a skill.
A bit after an hour of encoutering the now dead Insha. Noah picked up three aura’s, it seemed they were in a fight since their aura’s currently radiated killing intent.
The duo slowed down. As Noah directed James to a one storey building which the both climbed. Though James had a bit of trouble doing that.
Noah made sure to wrap his aura tightly around his body, to ensure that he wasn’t found out, James also did the same.
Crawling on the flat roof, Noah peeked down the building, and into a street. Shifting his head to the side, he dodged the splinters of rock flying through the air.
Shaking his head he peeked again, the figures of three men entered his sight, all radiating power in the middle stage. Noah immediately got bored.
He immediately decided that he would go down there and eliminate them, but before he could his ears picked up something interesting.
“I’ll be the one to get her, you two aren’t worthy,” One of the three men announced while casting a spell which caused three fireballs to shoot forward.
The man looked to be in his mid twenties, like most people Noah met. He had short brown hair and was around 5’7 in height. He looked averagely good looking. Very average actually.
He was currently draped in a black skin-tight clothing. Which had gauntlets, a breast plate and metal boots. All flickering with different coloured Inscriptions.
“Shut your mouth. I’ve known her for way longer that you do. So I should be the one to get her,” the second person announced, while blocking a fireball with his black shield and jumping backwards to dodge the fireball that exploded on the ground.
He looked also in his mid twenties. Had very short black hair which looked neatly brushed. He looked to be around 5’9 in height, and was currently in a plain brown garment, though it glowed with a yellow hue.
The third person stayed silent after dodging the fireballs, but acted by slashing his sword in horizontally towards both his opponents.
Immediately he slashed the ground followed the movement of his sword. As jagged earth spikes rose up for over twenty meters. Forcing his opponents to search for higher ground.
“I honestly do not care about your bickering. I just want to eliminate both of you.” The young man said after the attack.
He looked a bit older than the two. Had blonde hair, was around 5’6 in height, and was currently draped in a bright yellow garment, which had multiple red Inscriptions on their fabric.
Noah watched this comical scene, with a fascinated expression. ‘These guys are totally out of their mind. We were tasked to eliminate each other and they are fighting about their love Interest.’ Noah shook his head, James doing the same.
The trio continued battling each other. Noah getting more curious, as they had not mentioned the name of the woman they were both in love with.
Noah stayed there for a bit more than ten minutes, waiting to hear the persons name, but then it dawned on him that they weren’t going to mention it.
The trio immediately lost their usefulness at that point.
Noah’s aura spread eventually. Alerting the trio about the dangerous individual close to them.
The three seemed to immediately come to a silent agreement to battle whoever that showed up before them. But fear immediately appeared on their expressions when they saw Noah.
“Would you tell me who you were talking about?,” Noah’s voice rang out. Surprising everyone present including the spectators in the collusem.
No reply came for a few seconds. Noah frowned at that lack of reaction. “Who was the person you were talking about?.” His said, his eyes cold.
“Uh…It wa…was lady Isabella,” the fire mage stuttered. A weird silence fell on the environment, until Noah burst into laughter, surprising everyone present again.
“Isabella;. Nice choice,” Noah said, jumping down the building, causing the three to take multiple steps backwards.
Each of them ready to run. ‘He can’t catch the three off us if we run.’ All three of them thought, sharing glances at each other.
Noah noticed this silent interaction and commented on it. “You can run, but just know that only death awaits you if you do,” He shrugged.
“Currently you have the option of surrendering without anyone dying,” Noah added shooting quizzical gaze’s at the trio. Who had difficult expressions on their faces.
“I’ll count to three, if-,” Noah couldn’t complete his words, since the three cast spells at him.
The world slowed down in Noah’s eyes. He shook his head in disappointment. He had expected them to be smart, but it also wasn’t their fault. If they had witnessed his prowess, surrendering would have been the only option that came to their minds.
A fireball the size of a standard car, a wall that had sharp stakes on its surface, and ten blades of condensed wind shot towards the duo.
Personally Noah had nothing to directly stop the spells. Heck if not for his slow motion perception skill, they would definitely escape. But he did have a martial art move that could.
He didn’t want to use any of his martial arts apart from his mountain stomp simply because people were watching. But since he had come to the final stage, he wanted to show a bit more of what he was worth.
His damaged staff appeared in his hand. ‘This would do,’ Noah thought. Stepping forward, he spun his staff in front of his figure. Mana directly flowed out of his body and wrapped around his staff.
Holding the bottom of his staff with both hands, Noah waved it to his right, pointing directly at the spells.
A small tremor ran through the fabric of space, as the spells seemed to stop for an instant. Before they suddenly shot towards Noah’s right side.
A big explosion resounded a few hundreds of meters from their position. It seemed like something had hurled the spells to that direction.
Pure and utter shock filled the trios mind, even Noah himself was surprised.
It seemed advancing to the peak stage had increased the effects of the martial art technique, since before now, Noah could only get spells to slant a bit to whatever direction he waved his staff. But noe he could send spells flying for hundreds of meters. Though he wondered if that would happen for spells with power in the peak stage. b𝚍nov𝚕.com
The trio were dumbstruck, even the spectators and VIPs.
The three middle stage experts were frozen in their spot intense fear spreading in their minds.
Noah only uttered on word, while a magic circle expanded in front of him. “Die!.”
