UNLIMITED SPEED

Chapter 85 85. HIDDEN REWARDS

Smoke rose up in the air, as the smell of burnt meat permeated the whole cave. James sighed at the sight of the dead experts, his eyes falling on Noah’s back.

The young man, who he even seemed to be older than, never seized to surprise him. But shock filled James mind when he realized that he had recovered from the surprise of what happened just a few seconds after it occurred.

It seemed he was beginning to get used to Noah’s abnormality.

A ding resounded in the cave, Noah nodding his head at the turn of events.

Now they would get a few hours to rest. Those who didn’t, would get eliminated fast in the last round. Noah already wanted the whole thing to end.

Two Inscriptions lit up in the cave, one on the ground and the other on the caves ceiling.

The charred bodies of the five experts, disappeared while a light washed over the ground making it clean.

Once again the illusory figure appeared out of the other Inscription.

“Good job, participants Noah and James. You’ve succeeded in surviving the second stage of bozolom. For that I congratulate you,” it started, Noah wondering why they were even still inside the cave.

“As the first team of two to finish the stage, you’ll both receive the hidden rewards for the surprising feat.” The illusory figure said.

Noah’s eyes sparked up at that point, ‘rewards!’ he said Inwardly. He was totally down for that.

“Like you both have seen, this year’s bozolom has had a few surprise’s,” it continued, Noah and James nodding in unison.

“So I hope you expected that there will be some in the final stages,” it paused, seemingly wanting the two to ponder on the matter, which they did.

“The last stage will determine who will receive the generous rewards of resources meant to elevate ten participants to the realm of tier 4, it has to be more challenging,” the figure explained, Noah couldn’t help but nod at the truth of the matter.

“This goes directly with the rewards you’ll receive. Which are a map of where the tier 3 beasts are situated in the site, and a meter that would show you how many participants are left in the final stage,” the illusory figure said.

Intense shock ran through Noah’s mind when he heard its words. ‘Tier 3 beasts,’ he shouted inwardly. He wasn’t sure he could beat beasts at that level but he knew one thing, and that was that they were definitely dangerous.

The second reward wasn’t really necessary, only that knowing how many people were left would be a great help.

A ding resounded in both their hand bands. Checking to see what it was, they saw an illusory yellow map, which had eleven red spots that moved like flames, signifying where the tier 3 magical beast were in the place they would be teleported to.

And also a bar of sorts, that currently had zero on it. Which Noah expected since the second stage wasn’t done yet, till then could they determine how many participants survived.

“You’ll also be teleported to a safe place in the location, which you’ll the start eliminating other participants. Do not forget as long as only ten participants remain, the stage is complete. It doesn’t matter how the others were eliminated, be it being killed by other participants, surrendering or even devoured by the magical beasts, all is allowed,” the illusory figure explained.

A big smile appeared on Noah face when he understood what the figure meant, and also the fact that they were basically being given a headstart.

“We’ve as good as won.” Noah muttered.

“I hope the rewards were to your liking. All this is thanks to the council of both the royal family and a few noble families.” The illusory figure bowed at the duo, who also did the same.

Immediately that gesture was done, the ground lit up with a blue inscription, then Noah found himself back in the massive room. Only that it was totally empty.

Noah shot a happy glace at his partner, who also smiled in return. Returning his focus on the room, Noah became able to witness it in all its glory.

“Massive,” Noah muttered. Even though this was his third time in the room, he still wondered how that much space could fit into the collusem.

“So what should we do now?.” James asked looking around.

“Wait I guess. The next stage isn’t starting until the others are done.” Noah said sitting crossedlegged. He decided it was time to distribute his stat points, the last stage may feature surprises that even they didn’t know about.

James walked a bit from Noah’s position. He also sat crossedlegged, and began to cultivate. Noah glanced at James, he recalled him saying something about a cultivation technique, but he didn’t know what they were, although the name was self explanatory, he wondered if he would ever get something like that.

Pushing the matter to the back of his head, he opened his status page.

‘That’s a lot,’ Noah thought staring at his undistributed stat points.

‘Should I dump them into my mp,’ Noah thought. ‘It’ll barely make a difference. What about strength?. I’ve focused too much on it. But it’s very useful,’ a tug of war went on in his mind, no side overpowering the other. b𝚍ov𝚕.𝚝

Noah, at this point was practically unmatchable in his current level of power. Although he liked it, he didn’t usually have good fights, since most of his opponents were weaker than him.

A sigh escaped his mouth at we point, ‘I’ll just dump them in strength, and defense.’ Noah concluded.

Sharing the points equally among the mentioned stats, Noah closed his eyes to savour the refreshing feeling of his skin getting tougher, and his muscles, and bones getting sturdier.

Noah lay on the tiled floor, his eyes still on his stat panel. He had been in tier 2 for a while now, and he was ready to advance and encounter stronger people. He was even ready to join a guild since he needed money, and wanted to learn new things, and go on adventurers.

His mind wandered into many topics, during the wait. Until he found himself thinking about what the beautiful Isabella was doing, whether she was having trouble with the stage or not.

‘I need a girlfriend,’ Noah clicked his tongue.
