Chapter 63 63. RUMBLE

There were exactly 21 bottles present there, and each had a readable tag on it. With 10 of them saying ‘Healing potion’, and the other 11 saying ‘Mana potion”.

James had been ecstatic when he saw the Mana potions, saying they were quality ones, and were very expensive.

Noah couldn’t help but glance over towards Augustus still healing body. The man had to have way more than his personal guard. Which caused multiple ideas to run through Noah’s mind, though he kicked them out immediately.

They shared the Mana potions just 2 each, and the healing potions 3 each. Storing the rest inside the ring, Noah moved on to the scrolls.

The scrolls were mostly filled with layouts of mansions, but Noah found a map of their country, and surprise filled his mind when he saw that the map had the locations of the Three great guilds and some others.

The map was really big but also readable, because Noah had gotten used to the mental map that constantly updated itself whenever Noah walked pass a new location.

Storing the map inside his inventory, and the rest of the scrolls inside the ring, after he had asked James if he needed any of them, which the young man replied no.

Moving to the clothes, Noah directly stored it, because Augustus must have probably seen them.

With that done, Noah returned the ring to the exact finger which Luke previously had it on. Returning to their former positions, they sat with happy expressions, the loot had been very rewarding.

They had to sit and converse for an hour before anyone showed signs of waking up. The first to wake was Mona, who was surprised to find the person they went to rescue tied up.

Followed by Bern, who though still had a few wounds left, was out of danger, the man sat to cultivate, just like Mona.

A few tens of minutes later, Jessica awoke. She too began to cultivate, as it seemed all of them felt safe as long as, Noah was awake.

This put a kind of unwanted responsibility on Noah, every time the idea that he was responsible for them sprouted in his mind, he would kick it away with ‘They are all adults,’ actually most of them were older than he was.

Eventually Lisa woke up, but Noah went, and sat in front of her tied figure. He had to be honest, her body looked great and her helpless situation made the sleeping dragon want to rise from it’s ever so long slumber, but he would focus on something else.

It wasn’t up until sunset, did Augustus show any signs of awaking. By that time his body was practically fully healed. Around twenty minutes later, Augustus awoke.

When the young master, saw the dead body of Luke his face darkened beyond comprehension, Noah had never seen such an expression on the man’s face.

Eventually he walked closer to Lisa, seeing that Noah sat right in front of her, he sighed in relief, the fact that he could handle a peak tier 2, at his middle stage level, seemingly not bother him too much.

“Thank you,” Augustus said.

Shrugging his shoulders without glancing back, Noah’s voice rang out, “Are you going to question her now. I have refrained from doing that because of you,” He said his gaze not moving away from Lisa’s frowning figure.

Augustus didn’t know what to say, he simply stared back and forth at Noah and Lisa, his voice ringing out eventually, “No…. I’ll cultivate for an hour. My body needs to reduce the stress caused by the excessive use of potions,” He announced walking toward a position where he could still see Lisa’s figure, and was not to far.

Noah simply nodded, his eyes still on Lisa. Most of you may currently be wondering why he was so focused on her, well that would be none other than the fact that, Noah was trying to make up multiple fantasies, but he didn’t get the desired reaction.

“Do you want to eat anything,” the voice of Mona resounded behind Noah. She had heard from James what Noah did, and couldn’t help but feel a bit of indebtedness.

“Na….You know what yes,” Noah said, since he saw that Augustus stopped his cultivating just to bring food out.

“…Oh okay,” She said walking back to the group, and after a few tens of minutes, brought a loaf of brown bread, and some cooked meat, which Noah wolfed down, and still felt nothing.

Noah was almost a hundred percent sure that, when he advanced higher, he would need more food.

Eventually an hour passed, and Augustus stood from his sitting position, and walked toward Noah, who did the same.

Through out the series of hours of being tied to the tree, Lisa had not spoken a word, she simply closed her eyes, seemingly sleeping, though she opened them when Augustus had awokened the other time, and closed them again, but immediately Noah and Augustus got up, her eyes opened.

The main reason why Noah had sat in front of her was because, though she was tied she still had access to spells, which meant she was still dangerous, he wasn’t even sure if items that stopped people from casting spells existed.

Retrieving his almost broken daggers from his inventory, Noah and Augustus walked slowly towards her, Noah even keeping Muliix on the tip of his mind.

“We just want to ask you questions,” Noah said when he was closer to her

“Why…why did you do it,” Augustus pain filled voice rang out.

No reply came for a few tens of seconds as the area remained tense.

“Answer me!,” Augustus yelled startling the woman since she flinched. And also alerting the others of the ongoing questioning.

“They would have killed my brother,” Lisa said after a few seconds.

Noah couldn’t help but take a step back in surprise, this wasn’t how he expected the story to start. Even Augustus remained silent for a few seconds.

“There was nothing you would have been able to do. Your sister had under control most of the inner circles old men, and since your father as been in a slumber for decades now, I had to choose,” Lisa added while tears rolled down her cheeks.

Noah mind shook slightly when he heard those words, his eyes couldn’t help but fall on Augustus’s figure.

A sigh escaped Augustus mouth, “I’m sorry for being this weak,” he said.

“It seems i’ve failed in multiple areas of my life,” He added with a light sigh.

“But…were there any plan apart from you killing me, or was that the last?,” Augustus voice rang out

Silence reigned for a few seconds, “Not that I know of,” Lisa replied.

Noah didn’t trust that answer one bit, and so did Augustus, although her reason was pitiful, that didn’t change the fact that she was still protecting her younger brother. π—Όπ―πžπ₯οΌŽπœπ¨π—Ί

Another sigh escaped Augustus mouth, he glanced at Noah who also returned the glance.

Though immediately they did that gesture, a series of red glowing lines interwoven into themselves, lit on Lisa’s fore head.

Noah and Augustus jumped back at that sight, but shock filled their minds, when a voice not belonging to Lisa spread out.

“It’s been a while brother,” the voice rang out of Lisa’s mouth, as her eyes had lost their sad expression, which was now filled with a big smile.

Noah’s eyes fell on the darkened expression of Augustus. Placing the pieces together, Noah came to an obvious conclusions, ‘His sister,”.

‘I didn’t know this was even possible,’ Noah said inwardly, as his eyebrows expressed his confusion.

Though he had an encounter with the black figure, which according to it was just a puppet, Noah didn’t know a person could control someone else’s body.

Lisa’s head turned to glance at Noah, “So this was the special person Pete talked about. He does have good face, enough to even match yours, Augustus,” she said with a big smile.

A frown appeared on Noah’s face after those words, it seemed he had gotten a new enemy.

“I am not here to do much, just to say goodbye since I never got to do so,” she said in a sweet voice.

“I hope you enjoy my gift,” she said, as immediately, Lisa started to shake which then turned to writhing. It was as though she was trying to escape from the rope that tied her.

A sinister laugh resounded out of the still writhing Lisa, then the red inscriptions vanished, and we’re immediately replaced with golden lines that ran across the full body of Lisa.

Then she raised her head towards the darkening sky. An immensely high pitched scream resounding out of her mouth, followed by the visible withering of Lisa’s body.

Silence reigned for a few seconds, as Noah quickly shot a gaze at Augustus who had a dark expression.

Then it began, under their foots, gradually increasing, the unmistakable vibrations of a rumble!.
