Chapter 610 610. TRADING BLOWS
Chapter 610 610. TRADING BLOWS
Stunning silence unfolded in the sky. And were it not for the fact that only those experts were present, many would have sworn reality glitched since all of Noah’s attacks vanished without a trace. Not even wisps of his energy being spared.
“Damn!” Noah exclaimed under his breath. He had swallowed several essence pills to make for that immense display of power. A pity, he thought.
“You really went ahead and wiped out my attacks. If you ask me, that’s no fair,” Noah clicked his tongue browsing through his skills.
Adonis burst into laughter that could be heard even from his position. The world naturally carried the voice of that expert now that he was a tier closer to the peak of power in the world.
“Why didn’t you lose your apathy earlier than now? We would have been good friends.”
In response to the elder’s words, Noah waved his left hand in dismissal retaining a disinterested gaze.
‘In this form, I can’t use all my skills,’ he revealed inwardly, seeing that skills like Elemental embodiment, Avatar of speed, Clones, Overdrive, and a few others were locked. He didn’t find that reality too surprising though.
He knew of those limits even before stepping into the battlefield. Part of his preparation had been concerning that topic.
The only skill available that could give him a unique boost was ‘Elemental Armament.’
[Elemental Armament: Behold, the power and raw essence of the elements have coagulated and transcended the lower realms to become physical items capable of being attached to its caster. When activated, ‘Elemental Armament’ provides a 500% increase to users’ defense stats and a 300% increase to all elemental-based attacks]
[Cost: 75% of essence pool. Duration: 2 minutes. Cool-down: 5 days]
[Backlash: -50% to defense-based stats -40% to attack power of all elemental skills. Duration: 2 days]
“I guess I’ll have to work with what I have,” Noah sighed, deciding on his next set of actions.
“Show me your power Aiden. Surely you have something that would catch the eye of an expert such as myself,” Adonis taunted playfully from the distance.
Taking a shining silver pill and placing it in his mouth, Noah’s essence bubbled up in quantity. Thanks to the remnant essence from the previous spells he could quickly meet the requirements for Elemental Armament.
“Say, can I just call you Adonis since we’re about to kill each other?” Noah asked, finally activating the skill. His aura changed instantly. A change even Adonis raised an eyebrow to.
“Yes, you can.”
“Okay, Adonis. This isn’t really important, but I have a name different from what you all know me with.”
“Oh?” Adonis showed interest in the subject.
“Yes. It’s Noah. ‘Noah’ could be considered my real name… It honestly is.” Allowing a soft melancholic smile to grow on his features, Noah’s silver gaze fell to the world below.
“Tell it to my master, I never got the chance to,” he raised his head to gaze at Adonis in the distance.
“Very well,” Adonis responded. “Noah.”
Nodding his head with a soft chuckle, Noah’s figure exploded with power and radiance.
He had managed to hold off that event to speak his mind, but now even he could sense that it was time to close that chapter of his life. From that day on, he would cease to be a member of the divine guild and would be considered dead.
After all, he would be faking his death… by truly dying.
With rumbling intensity, a huge dark cloud quickly formed above them. Its range filled the insides of the barrier so much so that Adonis had to expand it.
The cloud crackled and reverberated with terribly powerful bolts. Adonis felt admiration and sadness grow in his heart at that sight.
“He truly is the best,” muttered the expert beneath his breath whilst he silently watched.
Bluish-silver, vibrant green, illustrious gold, and white colors blazed forth from Noah’s figure. Rather than act like light, this manifestation acted like waves of liquidy-mist. A weird sight indeed.
Ice burst out from that location to manifest as two huge wing-shaped figures, the winds blew violently as they got dangerous enough badly injure experts at the peak of the fourth tier.
Both the low temperatures around that display of light and power, plus the sharp winds were already beyond the capabilities of the peak of the fourth tier.
In short, Noah had quickly achieved an almost quasi-tier 5 attack power. At least his affinities. His real level had not undergone any change.
Despite the intensity of the light show, Adonis could still peer into the events that occurred within the light and he watched a spectacular armor born out of pure elemental power appear on Noah’s figure.
The battle armor being bulky had most of its frame built out of solidified silver ice. Adonis did not know ice could be that sturdy in the fourth tier.
A breastplate and gauntlets made out of crackling silver sparks, a cape made solely out of compressed gales and searing silver light.
An icy helmet shining with golden light blazing from its eye sockets. A pair of wings born out of ice featuring raging sparks at its feathers.
And finally, a blade made of pure light that possessed green, silver, and white orbs swirling around its length representing all three elements apart from light.
Noah’s figure exuded strong pressure, confirming that his full capabilities had exceeded the fourth tier, but not the fifth tier.
The light blazing around his figure finally died off and his form was revealed to the world. This time around a thin layer of golden and cerulean light existed around him like a sphere.
“I did not expect this,” Noah revealed seeing that some of Erolia’s traits had been featured in the spell’s activation.
He took a deep breath and exhaled softly. The pressure and impact of that skill on his mind remained evident to him. He could lose that form if he lost focus.
“Are you done?” Adonis’s voice rang out, pulling his attention from himself.
Noah replied by nodding.
“Very well,” Adonis commented, even if his figure flickered from his position and a burst of wind and force as a result his acceleration unfolded.
Noah squinted his eyes while his headache subsided for the time being. His perception of things was altered, and the world moved sluggishly in his gaze.
He caught sight of Adonis and understood the expert was out to kill him.
So he moved.
His figure transformed into a multicolored streak at the simple flap of his icy wings. The power in that flap would have badly injured an expert in the higher stage, and the burst of cold mist that expanded, as a result, would have put the individual in a near-death state.
Noah ground his movement to a halt, then turned to face his opponent who had changed trajectory the second he disappeared. ππΌπππ₯οΌπ°π¨πΊ
Waving his blade at the world before him, a blinding wave of multicolored light exploded forward at that simple swing.
The raw essence of all four of his elements beamed in both harmony and violence. Almost like a massive slash.
But rather than have sharp edges to deal damage. The entire mass itself was the damage dealer. As such, there was no need for a specific shape.
Adonis halted his movement when he saw that massive wave of elemental energy approaching him at blazing speeds. The average higher stage could only die before that colossal offensive.
Raising his right palm, Adonis felt his skin come into contact with that mixture of essences.
He raised an eyebrow at the violent energies that tried to break his body down on a molecular level. That strange offensive Intrigued him.
Nevertheless, he poured his energy into the mixture.
The result was a palm-shaped hole instantly appearing in the several kilometers thick wave of elemental essence. The remnant energies could only disperse.
Noah clicked his tongue even if he had anticipated that outcome.
At that point, his figure began to crackle more evidently with silver and golden sparks. Those sparks snaked forward to converge in several points, generating bright light.
The light died down mere instants later and fifty humanoid figures revealed themselves to the world.
Each being 10 meters in height, the crackling humanoid constructs each generated a level of sound akin to several rumbling clouds. As such their presence drowned all other sounds.
Noah sent them forward and they fell like lightning; streaking towards Adonis and reaching his figure nigh-instantly.
Their movement speed had been shocking, leaving Adonis unable to dodge. All fifty figures converged on him at that sight of weakness.
Still, a wave of golden light exploded from within the convergence, and Noah watched his creations explode when the power of a fifth-tier expert washed over their material causing them to grow unstable and detonate.
Before Adonis could move, however, Noah waved his blade several times, and as such huge waves of multicolored essence beamed toward the expert’s figure.
Still, a massive hole appeared in the sea of elemental essence and Adonis floated out of the chaos, his figure undamaged.
“Those were strong, but not strong enough.”
“Besides, simply hurling attacks from a distance is getting repetitive,” Adonis complained, raising his hands before his chest to form fists.
“Let’s trade real blows.”
Noah nodded and his sword melted away into raw essence to tightly warp around his hands. He raised his fists and flapped his wings once to propel himself toward his target.
Noah arrived before Adonis in a blink, and his left fist dove toward his opponent’s face.
Confident in his ability, Adonis raised his palm to block that punch.
But to his astonishment, he felt an immense wave of force travel the length of his arm whilst elemental essence beamed out of Noah’s fist upon contact to swallow his figure in their power.
So much so that Adonis’s figure transformed into a streak that slammed into the barrier to make everything flicker violently.
“Tch. With these compressed to such small sizes, their power should have been doubled, if not tripled.”
