Chapter 52 52. NO FIGHTING

Getting up when the day had broke, Noah took a bath, and went down the stairs. Returning the key back to Peter. Noah decided to inform him about his travel.

“I won’t be around for like a month, so you can lodge the room to someone else”, He said.

“I see. Let me guess you are going for a job of some sorts”, Peter said retrieving the key and keeping it somewhere.

Nodding his head in affirmation, Noah turned to leave. “When you get back, my rooms will always be available for you”, Peter said with a professional bow.

Smiling in return, Noah exited the building, coming out into the open, he ignored the bustling street, as he had gotten used to them.

Finding a familiar quiet alley, Noah ran to James house. Augustus had informed them to meet outside the gates of Vonol, early in the morning.

Arriving outside James house, Noah knocked on the door. A few seconds later, it was opened by an almost crying Jesse, who’s eyes were watery, from the held back tears.

Smiling at the scene, Noah entered to see a fully clothed James.

He wore a black top, which had a black metallic breast plate on it. The breast plate had some inscriptions on it, which flickered on and off once In a while.

His trousers were also black in colour, but also had lines of inscriptions on it, which ran from his hips down to the edge of the trousers.

Whistling at how cool he looked in the armour of sorts, Noah opened his mouth to talk. “Are you going to have that on all the time?”, he said while inspecting the outfit more.

Shrugging his shoulders, James’s replied, “There’s nothing I can do currently, dangers lurk in all the corners of the forest, I have to always be prepared.”

At those words, Jesse’s mental wall which stopped him from crying shattered, as tears rolled down his cheeks, his face squeezed like that of a baby’s, as the young man continued to shed tears of sadness. b𝚍nov𝚕.com

Noah’s growing-cold heart, couldn’t help but feel warm at that sight, memories of his brother flashed through his mind, as he mouthed a few words

“Don’t worry I’ll bring your brother back home”. He said, immediately signalling to James that it was time to leave.

Hugging his younger brother tightly for a few seconds, and whispering a few words in his ears, James let Jesse go after that, his expression filled with resolve.

Catching up to Noah, without looking back at his brother, they both walked in silence, until they got out of the cities gate.

Walking a few metres, until they spotted a carriage with multiple figures around it.

The carriage was golden brown in colour, sliver rims ran across it’s top and entrance, giving it an exquisite look.

While in front of the carriage were two magical beasts.

This sight surprised Noah, the last carriage he saw had no such beasts, actually most carriages in the city were pulled by people!.

The magic beasts were ostriches, but rather than black feathers, these creatures had what resembled scales, yellow in colour, and seemed to glisten in the sunlight.

Both ostriches stood at over three meters in height, though that was mostly due to their long necks, and powerful looking legs.

Surprise ran through Noah’s mind when he saw that description.

‘Tamed?’, he said in his mind. Their sight lit the fire of curiosity in him, but for James that was different, he actually felt oppressed by the show of resources.

Walking closer to the carriage, Noah had to snap out of his stupor, when he sensed the power, of the individuals in front of him.

There were seven unfamiliar faces standing outside the carriage, each of them donned in different styles of clothes, but the most common detail was that, all seven of them radiated power in the middle stage of tier 2!.

Getting to the carriages’ position, Noah immediately inspected their facial features. There were five; three women and two men, who looked middle aged, but with different hair colour and body build, the remaining two, who were males, looked to be in their mid twenties like Noah and James. Unlike the middle aged group, who were reserved, the two males looked vibrant.

“You have finally arrived”, Luke said, while poking his head out from inside the carriage. “This are going to be your teammates for the next few weeks, so please get to know each other, we shall leave in five minutes”, he added, as he went back inside the carriage, leaving an awkward air behind.

The area remained silent for a few tens of seconds, each of them inspecting the other person.

“Ah.. I am Jonas”, One of the mid twenties guys announced. He was a man in his mid twenties as said before, he had yellow hair which he kept short, he was currently donned in a yellow robe, but had gauntlets and weird necklaces on.

At his introduction, the others couldn’t help but Introduce themselves as well.

“I am Bern, its a pleasure to meet you all, I hope we get along”, one of the middle aged men said. He wore a normal attire, a shirt and trousers, but had a pair of swords strapped behind him.

“I’m Mona,” one of the three ladies said,

“My name is Heath,”the other woman said

“My name is Henry,” the other middle aged man said.

“I am Jessica,” the last woman of the group introduced.

“I am Mathew,” the second mid twenties guy said.

With the others done introducing themselves, they looked towards the last two who hadn’t.

“Ah, I’m James, nice to meet you all”, James said with a bow.

“I’m Noah”. Noah stated.

With the introductions done, the environment fell silent again, most of them just didn’t want to talk, while some were still inspecting. Although that changed when someone’s voice rang out.

“What the heck is a weakling like you doing here?”, Jonas asked, his face twisted in disdain, while he pointed at James figure.

James didn’t say anything, as he could only frown. He was a grown man after all, and this guy was a non-noble like him.

“Answer me,” Jonas pressed on.

Seeing that the person he questioned didn’t reply, his voice rang out again.

“Luke!, I thought this mission was only for those above the lower stage of tier 2?, why is he here, he’ll only be dead weight!”, Jonas shouted.

Exiting the carriages inside, Luke swept his gaze across the mini experts gathered, as his eyes fell on the figures of James and Jonas. Understanding what was going on his voice rang out.

“I allowed him for reasons I don’t have to tell you. He is part of the team now.”, he said calmly, ignoring the anger filled expression of the young man.

“But….”, Jonas sounded, only to be interrupted by the overflowing aura that immediately fell on his figure.

“No buts, I will not permit you fighting amongst yourselves. Understood?.”, Luke’s voice rang out with a chilling aura. Reminding Jonas that he wasn’t the strongest, neither was he the employer.

“”Understood””, everybody present said in unison.

Luke’s aura, receded at that point. “It’s time to move out”. He said walking towards the magical beasts.

A smile couldn’t help but appear on Noah’s face, after the incident was taken care of. He had not intervened just to witness what the young man would do.

Of course if Jonas had attacked or anything, he would find himself heavily wounded the next second, but Luke had taken care of it like the boss he was.

Patting James’s shoulder, while walking forward.

“Relax, I’ve got your back,” Noah said to the tense James, who immediately gave a helpless smile in response.

Taking a position beside the carriage, Noah stood there, as it was time to start their journey.
