Chapter 384 384. REGAL
“I thought the elven continent was in a bit of strife with us?” Noah asked at some point in their conversation.
“Well they still do, but a series of events had led to my being there. Which is why I value nature more. There are nice people amongst them, but like the trend in the world, There are fewer good than bad people,” Riveta cleared out.
The two fell into silence at that point, Noah was mostly taking in all he had heard from her. He had to admit that hearing the stories from her mouth was more entertaining than reading since he got a chance to learn more about her as a person.
She on the other hand found herself lost in the seas of memories she had obtained after the passing of centuries. Her conversation with Noah refreshed her since she truly had not entertained a proper visitor in a long while.
‘It’s been about ninety years,’ she spoke to herself stealing a glance at Aiden’s face.
“Less about me. It’s time to know a bit about you, young man Aiden!” She exclaimed at some point.
“How come you have three affinities?” she pointed out first, and her words caused a vein to almost pop in Noah’s head.
“It’s a long story,” Noah stated not making eye contact.
“Oh? A story longer than mine? I’m pretty certain I’m far older than you, young man,” she tilted her head in sarcastic wonder.
Noah kept silent at her questions, and she narrowed her eyes, determined to crack him.
“It’s even more surprising that two rare affinities are in your set of abilities.”
“Your existence can start a war if the situation isn’t properly handled. Especially when you’re part of a great guild. I’m pretty sure they know about your state,” she commented causing Noah to focus his gaze on her.
“What do you mean by that?” He inquired.
“Well, I’ve met a few of the higher-ups of the guild. A really crazy bunch of eccentric experts if you ask me.”
“I’m pretty sure all they needed to know about your uniqueness was glance at you. Just like all I needed to do was sight your figure,” she explained floating around him.
Noah couldn’t help but furrow his eyebrows at her revelation.
“You needn’t worry about much. They won’t harm you especially when they practically own you,” Riveta reassured, chuckling at his worried expression.
Noah smiled at her and tried to hide his remaining fear. Riveta saw through his act, however. She had lived too long to be fooled by acting.
“There’s no need to worry about danger. It’s not like you could hide it. There’s no reason to fuss over something you can’t stop or change. Simply get stronger. Enough that you can protect yourself. That’s all that matters,” she explained quite somberly.
A struggling expression appeared on Noah’s face at that point, and she burst into more laughter, before flying forward, leaving him to his thoughts.
The most difficult detail Noah struggled to cope with, was the fact that his so-called secrets were actually evident to a group of people. Although only a few, they were some of the strongest persons.
He suddenly felt naked and wished he never encountered tier 5 cultivators until he was strong enough to defend himself from them. .
A sigh eventually escaped Noah’s lips and he focused on Riveta’s figure and found that she was nowhere to be seen.
He didn’t fret, however, but rather decided to focus on the plain while he walked down that long hallway.
He continued his long walk until something changed, however.
Arriving abruptly and powerfully, the entire tower experienced a powerful shaking, one that managed to knock Noah off his feet.
Panic and fear reached his mind at that point, as he recalled Riveta’s words about her enemies.
‘Are we under attack?’ he asked himself, his bewilderment evident on his face. He couldn’t survive tier 4 battles, not to talk of tier 5. He would be dead before he knew it!
Dashing towards the nearest window, Noah slid it open to gaze at the outside, but before he could do much, he noted the that shadow loomed over the tower.
‘Big!’ Noah screamed inwardly as he raised his head to glance at what cast that huge shadow on the tower, and what he saw caused his heart to skip one of its rapid beats.
A gasp escaped his mouth as red feathers; as he had never seen before unfolded in his marveling eyes.
The figure of a huge feathered beast sitting at the very top of the tower made Noah want to take a closer look, but he didn’t dare leave the tower.
The incredibly large beast, far larger than any beast he had ever laid his two eyes on, radiated a sharp aura that caused his nose to bleed and his fragile mind to begin to experience cracks.
Even from that distance, he would die, but he couldn’t lift his gaze anyways.
The thing had wings, but from his point of view they were still folded, however, it unfolded it and cast a shadow for like a kilometer around it!
Then it flapped its feathered wings.
That mere action caused chaos to befall the silent plain, as the wind picked up, raising a wide cloud of dust. The ground shook, then huge cracks opened on its structure.
The mere flapping of the tier 5 beast caused huge gaps, almost akin to chasms to fill the space around the tower, as even the building Noah stood in shook violently from that event.
Noah continued to bleed through his nose and even his ears. The edges of his lips also began to reveal blood, but he seemed in a daze, one capable of burying the intense pain he was experiencing.
He waited for the huge creature to circle the tower before picking a spot to land on the plain, allowing its nature to be revealed to the world.
Noah held his breath at the magnificent creature.
He had seen it in the books concerning the great beast, But seeing a phoenix live was a totally different thing than seeing its pictures.
The books didn’t do justice to how regal the creature looked.
