Chapter 380 380. TEA
Noah gazed at Riveta’s hovering figure, and his eyes and expression told of the utter stupefaction he experienced at her revelation.
“How do you even hope to escape me, young man? If I desire it, I can place this entire plain under my control,” Riveta shook her head chuckling.
“The youngsters of nowadays don’t seem to know much,” she sighed floating higher into the sky.
“Rest Aiden. I have not come to harm you.”
“Though I am curious about the method in which you utilized to get here. I recall your speed. It was nothing like I have seen from a person your level,” she went back to expressing her curiosity.
Noah furrowed his brows in uncertainty. “Tier five,” he muttered, and she nodded her head in response, her smile never leaving her face.
“That’s a lot of power,” Noah added putting her question on hold.
“It’s not much in the grand scheme of things,” She revealed raising her head to gaze at the star-filled night sky. “If you reach this level you’ll understand that there are many things out there, and even this power cannot do anything against them.”
“As cultivators, we strive for higher heights, but this is not enough,” She ended, allowing her eyes to return to Noah.
Surprisingly her words had hit more than he thought. It felt shocking and yet expected for a being in tier 5 to desire more power.
“If I respond to your question it would be a lie. So I’d rather not say much. However, it’s something very personal,” Noah explained, gaining a sense of trust.
She had nothing to gain by killing him, and he had no amount of power on him to kill her.
“Hmm. I see. It cannot be helped then,” she exclaimed seemingly falling into thought.
“It’s been a while, but I invite you to at least spend the night in my tower,” she announced gesturing at the building on the island. “You’re the first proper visitor I’ve had in years.”
“Absolutely not,” Noah replied without giving it any thought.
“Why?” She furrowed her brows even if she knew his reason.
“I don’t trust you one bit,” Noah announced without the slightest hitch. “You might have something in mind and your power is troublesome.”
“I thought you had ways to escape me,” She teased.
“Well, I do. But that’s your house, surely there are things that are capable of killing me in one go. How would I escape if I’m too busy being dead,” Noah explained as blatant as he could get. 𝘦.𝘰𝘳𝑔
“You’re pretty blunt, and it’s more amusing since you know my level,” She shook her head with interest in her eyes.
“Well, there’s no need for me to shy away from my true worries. My life is on the line here,” Noah rolled his eyes.
“You truly are something else,” Riveta commented while thoughts flowed through her mind, only a few being dedicated to her interaction with Aiden.
“You know many cultivators even those in tier 5 will be as polite as possible when conversing with me. Yet here you are, a mere tier three cultivator, and your eyes lack the reverence that I’m used to,” she revealed, not the least bit annoyed about the reality of their interaction.
Noah kept silent at her words, and she continued.
“It’s refreshing, to say the least. But let’s see if you can keep it up,” She remarked when Noah felt her consciousness grab hold of him. But it did so gently.
Noah panicked at that event but tried to remain cool. Even if his tries failed.
“I said no,” he frowned, sparks beginning to exit his body. He would vanish from that place if he had to.
“Don’t worry young man. I promise not to hurt you,” She waved her hands while she floated towards the tower.
“Let me go,” Noah pressed. “I like it out here,” he added while his figure began to get brighter and brighter. A tier 5 being had him in her grip.
“How do I prove to you that I won’t hurt you?” She asked seeing how much he truly meant his words. She also stopped moving as a result, coupled with the hilarious fact that he looked ready to blow up if necessary even his power wouldn’t achieve much with her.
“I have nothing in mind. Maybe a pact or something,” Noah suggested really annoyed at that point.
If she hadn’t been that strong he swore he would have dealt with her already. But she wouldn’t have tried any such thing if they were close in terms of level.
“That’s too significant for just a visit to my house. And as the oath maker, I have power over the oath. It would even put you at a disadvantage,” she added arcing an eyebrow.
Noah shrugged at her words, he truly had no idea of what she could do to prove her intentions.
Truth be told, Noah felt no danger at her figure. His instincts did not react negatively to her, nor did he feel even the slightest amount of fear. He simply didn’t want to trust her just yet.
“How about tea,” she suggested, generating confusion in Noah’s mind.
“What does tea have to do with our situation?” Noah voiced his curiosity.
“Well…” she muttered when a rectangular table and two chairs appeared in front of her.
On the table were a cream colored cup and a golden jug that released steam. Noah felt a hunger within him rise, when the scent of the jugs contents reached his nose.
Mere inhaling it caused his soul realm to tremble. But in a good way. Realization dawned on him at that event and his stupefied expression said it all.
“You’re pretty quick at picking things up,” Riveta commented drawing Noah closer to her.
“What is it?” Noah inquired, his eyes never leaving the golden jug.
“It’s tea like I said. But not like anything you’ve tasted,” a smile appeared on her face.
“I believe your body and mind can feel it. It’s something capable of helping even tier 4’s after all,” She revealed causing a chill to run down Noah’s spine.
“Is this bribe?” He remarked trying his best to relieve the jug of his gaze. But his focus wouldn’t shift.
“You can call it that. Or you can call it a treat; for being so entertaining to this ancient and lonely lady.”
“Anyone you want,” her smile turned into an inviting grin.
“What does it do?” Noah ignored her tempting offer.
“Well as you can probably feel. It expands the soul realm But more than that. It brings people to enlightenment.”
