Chapter 368 368. RAMPANT IMP

The search continued for a while, but the group had to stop since they found nothing of use. The destruction of the area had caused potential foot marks to be unnoticeable.

After a bit of explaining from the elder still carrying him around, Noah finally gained understanding about a bit of the Imp’s features.

They advanced like magical beasts, eating materials that featured enough energy. But to reach a state of exaltation; they needed to consume the brains of humans since it had the soul realm embedded in it.

Which was why the imp had probably left the entire town mostly untouched. It needed beings from tier 3 up, since only they had soul realms. For weaker imps, just any brain would do.

Imps were mostly fire creatures, but evolving made them transcend their natural capabilities, allowing them to gain an extra element. Meaning an exalted imp usually had two affinities.

Truth be told Noah had feared a clash with the creature since he still couldn’t sense it nor did his mind feel comfortable around it.

“We’ll have to report a rampant Exalted imp to the royals and the surrounding regions. The missions on the board will also need a skimming process. We don’t want our cultivators being lured into their deaths,” The brown-haired Elder who had announced his name as Dion, spoke.

The others nodded their heads at that point, but no one moved for a short period. π—Όπ˜ƒπ—Ή.𝗼𝐫𝗴

Noah wondered what was going on, but he could only remain lost when elder Dion eventually shot forward, with the others following behind him.

The five tier 4 experts flew at high speeds to the city and rather than waiting for the city’s pull, they simply shot upwards to cross the strange darkness and reach the city’s insides.

“Thank you for your time, young man. I’ll remember to put in a good word for you when speaking to the masters,” Elder Dion announced dropping Noah off at the guild hall.

“I’m still waiting for your visit,” Delilah threw a wink his way, but he shrugged.

The gazes of the other three experts locked with his, and he only gave a bow, causing them to nod their heads in affirmation.

The five flew away at that point and their departure couldn’t have been louder, but it dealt no damage to the streets.

Nevertheless, Noah became the center of attraction for passerby’s, who were also guild-mates. Unfortunately, they could only stare at him in shock and wonder. Many of them remembered him from the events, but he had gained a new level of importance in their minds.

Noah looked for Pride but saw that she was nowhere to be found. He could only believe she had been returned to her place.

Deciding to leave for his home in the central region, Noah wondered why he had not asked them to drop him off.

He searched for a carriage ride and found one, but his mind remained filled with thoughts during the almost one-hour ride.

He eventually arrived at the gate and didn’t hesitate to show his ring and be let in. He sprinted towards Elder Sarah’s mansion at that point and arrived there in no time.

Pushing the gate open he walked into her quarters with troubled thoughts.

Elder Dion’s words had really gotten to him, which had forced him to begin to recheck his priorities.

He still had his training with elder Sarah ongoing, but he needed more power. It was obvious he wouldn’t be able to keep up; he didn’t have an adequate amount of strength. Yet he felt confused about the entire thing.

He also had to look out for the tour coming in about two months. He would have no chance to disappear during that period, so he had to do what he could before then.

Unfortunately, that would mean going against elder Sarah’s wishes even if he wasn’t exactly scared such an outcome. But he still desired to train and master the other forms.

Heaving a deep sigh at how annoying time management was, Noah knew he only had one real choice if he cared about his life.

“Another dungeon dive. I need it,” he muttered laying on his bed with his feet still touching the floor.

‘I don’t have money,’ he furrowed his brows. ‘There should be a way to borrow,’ he thought trying to reassure himself. But who would even borrow him the immense amount of money he required to do it?

He would need at least 50 gold coins to comfortably buy all he needed. Though he had exactly 23 beasts in already. Thanks to staying in the forest for a while.

He still required a lot to complete the requirement, however.

‘Maybe I should leave the city for a while and hunt beasts like old times,’ he chuckled inwardly recalling his time in Vonol.

The idea always sounded good, since he was in environments with a higher mana density, there would be natural habitations crawling with tier 3 beasts.

Before deciding on that, however, he felt he would ask Elder Sarah for money. He didn’t like the idea of borrowing money since he had items he could sell, but he had to try all his available options before deciding to hunt magical beasts for days maybe even weeks.

He also had to consider the danger of the rampant Imp. But he had a plan if it ever came to that.

Noah left for Elder Sarah’s room at that point. He had been gone for almost a day, so he wasn’t exactly sure if she was around.

He knocked on her door, and to his surprise, she immediately responded.

“Come in,” she announced, allowing Noah grab hold of the doors handle and push it open.

Her room unfolded in his eyes, he had been inside it only a few times during his stay, but he couldn’t help but cringe at the colorfulness.

She had good skill at interior design, but he simply didn’t like purple too much, even if it still made the room look good.

Her figure appeared in his eyes also. She remained in her attire but sat in a cross-legged posture and was surrounded by strands of dancing electrical currents, while small balls of flames, almost mote-like, rid her surroundings. Noah laid eyes on four different stones; all yellow and they continued to release mana.

She sat in the middle of the mana stones and their mana converged on her, creating that magical wonder.

“What do you want?” She raised her head to focus her attention on him, and Noah saw her azure eyes visibly glow before their strange light died down.
