Chapter 324 324. PROGRESS
“Absolutely not,” Noah replied as quickly as she asked the question. He wasn’t ready to begin to share all the more vital information about himself. Why did he even tell the truth about his teleportation and even demonstrate it? Well, why shouldn’t he have?
There was evidence that she knew he could disappear, heck she might even have a video record of it, so lying when he truly didn’t know anything was not needed. He would just overcomplicate things if he lied and cooked up a half-baked story.
Elder Sarah’s brows creased at his quick reply, as all her nervousness quickly vanished and was replaced by mild annoyance.
“You do know I still have your life in my hands? I am still capable of turning the guild’s powers against you?” she threatened, but only to see his reaction.
A cold smile appeared on Noah’s face at that point, he really hated threats especially when they came from someone he could ultimately kill.
“No worries then. But that would be a bit catastrophic since I won’t be going down without a fight,” he stated basically meaning he would kill her if it came to it.
An eyebrow rose on Elder Sarah’s face at those words, she understood them loud and clear, and couldn’t help but think the young man possessed something that could potentially threaten her life.
The reality sounded impossible, but was truly impossible in their world? He had already done stuff that would naturally be considered impossible.
“You’re a strange man,” she eventually sighed sipping more of her wine. “How are you sure I won’t sell you out to the guild?” she asked.
“Well, you aren’t that type of person. I’ve never seen you go against a deal,” Noah simply stated with a light and confident shrug.
A smile threatened to crack on Lady Sarah’s face at those words, but she managed to retain her composure. She liked him more by the minute.
“You can’t be so sure. You haven’t even known me for a year. I could be all sorts of vileness,” she smiled sardonically.
“What are you even driving at, master? With all these threats you’re reducing your chances of gaining even more info from me.” Noah revealed a confused expression before sighing.
Silence followed his query, at least for a few seconds. Lady Sarah eventually talked. “I apologize. I got a bit excited there,” she stated.
‘Who the heck gets excited and begins to threaten someone,’ Noah shook his head inwardly. The lady indeed was a character.
“But are you still up for the pact?” She asked again, even if she knew that he would refuse.
“Maybe another time master. I need to focus on getting myself prepared for the tournament,” Noah explained getting up and performing a deep bow, after which he took his leave to the underground training area.
Elder Sarah was left alone in a matter of seconds but she didn’t stop him from leaving, he was still her student after all. That issue had only been a side mission since she needed that knowledge. Unfortunately, it was all for naught.
Noah on the other hand felt a big weight lifted from his shoulders. Now he could leave the training area to cultivate without worrying about hiding. He at some point felt tempted to abuse his newfound freedom. But he wouldn’t.
Noah spent the next week training nonstop. He went from cultivating his body, soul, and core to executing the two forms he had learned, while also engaging in spars with the various dummies within the training area.
He even moved to battling three different dummies at the same time, all of which were programmed to a certain level of difficulty. One that managed to challenge him.
The week wasn’t long, but he still had a few days remaining before he would be required to return to the Pagoda, from which he would be transported to the tournament’s site.
Elder Sarah visited him on the ninth day of his lone training and informed him of her plan to teach him the third form; Thunder Clap.
Apparently, it was the more easy form to comprehend, even if it still had a few connections to surge.
The main target of the third form was to create sound waves so dense and powerful that they would stun one’s opponent or opponents. Thereby allowing one to take charge in a battle.
The form relied mostly on pure physical strength, but also complete control over the amount of power poured. A skill he had ultimately learned to properly execute the second form. 𝒃𝙚𝙙𝙣𝙤𝒗𝙚𝒍.𝒆𝒕
Thunder clap saw its executor jamming their palms with such force; they would be capable of making their surroundings tremble. However, it also utilized an element of the first form, since the executor wasn’t meant to clap once, but many times, each preceding clap must contain more power than the former, and all of them must be done quickly. Favorably in the blink of an eye.
It now depended on how much power a person’s body; mainly their arms, could take.
Elder Sarah explained that she could clap a maximum of 35 times in one execution. Her body couldn’t produce any more power than what she would achieve at the thirty-fifth clap. She had once tried to push past her limit, but her arms had turned to a bloody mess, one that required many months to properly heal.
The thirty-fifth clap contained the peak amount of power that the structural integrity of her arms could withstand. Now he had to find his. And only by practice could he discover that limit.
Noah began at that point, he had about five days till he returned to the pagoda, it wasn’t much but he believed he could make progress no matter how small it was.
He didn’t place all his time and attention on mastering it since his time was short, but only desired to gain entry-level mastery if it was possible.
Thanks to his mastery of the second Form, most of what he needed to do in the third form was already doable. Sure he still had a long way to go, but it wasn’t nearly as lengthy as mastering the second form was.
The days continued to pass and Noah focused solely on training and making progress in all Elder Sarah had taught him In the last months. The schedule was tight and honestly stressful, but he made it.
Needless to say, the day for his departure eventually arrived, and Noah felt confident about the upcoming events and challenges he would face.
