Chapter 321 321. HELPLESS
A deep but barely audible sigh escaped Noah’s lips during that moment. His now cold icy blue eyes gazed into the azure-colored eyes of Elder Sarah; sparkling with more than just a hint of red light. Her anger seemed to make the red within her eyes shine more, almost overshadowing the Azure color.
Noah made no effort to move from his pinned-down position. Surely with his speed, he could manage, but he didn’t want to take chances.
He had never seen Sarah wield a weapon before and during those moments he understood that she could easily end him. Now that she held a sword ready to strike anytime, the mortal danger she posed had suddenly shot through the roof in his mind. bn𝚘v𝚕.𝚘𝚛𝚐
Moreover, she looked ready to go all-out on him if necessary, and he sure didn’t want to see her do that.
Another sigh escaped Noah’s mouth while his eyes fell on the slightly curved one-edged sword placed on his neck. It didn’t even press into him, but his skin had continued to open during those seconds and that wasn’t even the sharp edge! Needless to say, his body continued to repair the injury.
The sword looked to be made out of a strangely black metal. Noah had never seen anything like it. It featured white runes inscribed into its black material, and those white runes continued to release mist-like properties everywhere. The sharp edge was golden in color.
The handle of the sword was also as black as the blade but featured golden horizontal stripes that seemed to have a purpose too since they shone with a soft light.
Taking his eyes off the sword after inspecting it for less than a second, Noah gazed back at Elder Sarah.
“Master-.”
“Don’t not… call me that,” Elder Sarah glared at him, as her aura flared dangerously with her words.
Noah furrowed his brows at that point, but his mind quickly brought him a solution.
“I apologize. But I’ve been addressing you like that for a while I don’t know what else to call you,” Noah explained feeling a shiver run down his spine.
“Answer my question: how do you occasionally vanish without a trace from the whole city?” she frowned but maintained her glare.
“I can’t answer that,” Noah replied with a slight frown.
“Then I guess I’ll have to end you here then,” she replied with such blood-lust and resolve in her tone, that sparks accumulated around Noah’s body then he turned into a blinding deep-yellow streak.
Appearing only a few meters from her, Noah placed his hand on his neck and felt as blood gushed out. Her move had been incredibly quick, but he had been able to dodge her slash, even if it was from point blank.
For an instant there, Noah could swear he felt his head being detached from his body. However, Essence flowed to deal with the cut, and he was completely healed in no time.
“That’s new. What other secrets do you have,” Elder Sarah’s cold voice literally reverberated throughout the whole building, then she disappeared from her position. But not after the entire mansion shook and cracks began to form on the walls. In merely an instant, she had jeopardized the structural integrity of her mansion.
Noah’s pushed his body to its limits in that instant and what followed was an explosion of his aura and the empowerment of the speed force.
His figure immediately began to blaze with pure power as streams of electrical energy poured out of his body. Unfortunately, he didn’t stay in one position.
Noah had sensed it, Elder Sarah was out to kill him, and he could only survive if he went all-out. At least to try and escape her He could kill her since that would mean his death.
Due to the empowerment of his mind, Noah managed to follow Lady Sarah’s movements, even if they were still rapid. Heck, he could swear they were moving at the same velocity.
With the fear of being caught by tier 4 existences if he went outside; present, Noah could only begin to run in a circle within the room, and Elder Sarah chased after him. And he confirmed it; they were moving at equal speeds!
How such was even possible baffled Noah, but he couldn’t remain shocked, since she began to wave her sword, but while utilizing the first form!
An incredible explosion occurred at that point, and her mansion saw a huge portion of its mass abruptly vanish. Blown away.
She had missed Noah even if by a few centimeters, and the mansion took the hit; suffering great damage.
Noah swallowed the lump that grew in his throat at that display of power, and he knew that wasn’t all she could do. He would be torn to pieces if her move touched him. His instincts confirmed it, but he didn’t panic.
‘She’s gone mad,’ Noah cursed finding that he could only leave the perimeters of the mansion after her attack had completely destroyed the entrance and even shaved off a significant portion of her land area.
“Please don’t do this!” Noah begged, coming to a stop a bit more than 20m from her figure since she stopped when she saw the yellow streak his movements produced converged in one spot.
“Answer my question or face death. It doesn’t have to be by my hands. The area is crawling with tier 4 cultivators who are undoubtedly on their way here already,” she gave a cold smile. “You’ll have to choose Aiden, and your time is running short already.”
A deep frown appeared on Noah’s face at her words. He knew they were true, and he knew that he would find himself in the same situation as he did when the royals took him, prisoner if any tier 4’s arrived. But this time he would have no way out.
There could be potential tier 5’s on the island, and from the looks of things they valued her far more than they currently did him. He had no chance of escaping apart from returning to his cultivation room.
But he had to consider the Oath being activated, he wasn’t certain if being in a different space would stop it from killing him, and he couldn’t take such chances, not when he was so close to achieving his goals.
Noah heaved a deep sigh mixed with helplessness and fatigue, he truly had no way out of that situation apart from calming her, and the only way was to of course agree to tell her a small portion of his many secrets.
“I’ll explain it to you, just please don’t let me get into trouble,” Noah announced still in a pleading tone.
“Do you give your word for it? I can still turn the entire guild against you if you fail to do as promised,” she threatened.
“I promise,” Noah responded in a hurried tone. He could feel it; someone was on their way there.
“Okay then,” she agreed then her aura, sword, and the slight manifestation of her power vanished. After which her usual smile appeared on her face.
Noah did the same and barely a second later five individuals palpating with power well into the fourth tier appeared with a sonic boom, and their eyes didn’t hesitate to scan the battle scene.
