UNLIMITED SPEED

Chapter 296 296. RESULT

The eyes of the serpent shone with a dangerous and contented light after it revealed its head from the hole. But to its shock the battle between its opponent’s golems and his summons continued, even increasing in intensity.

Before the serpent could do anything it saw the served portions of Noah’s figure crumble, revealing that he had somehow turned to ice.

The beast tried to react to the danger that now appeared in its mind during that realization, but a bright deep-yellow streak appeared behind its large figure, and a burst of intense pain traveled from its mid-section to its brain.

Noah delivered nothing less than thirty stabs on the serpent’s back, knowing that he couldn’t wait for his daggers to steal all its energy.

His attacks managed to leave a large 3ft wide and 2ft long wound on the serpent’s body, but he had to immediately sprint away from its figure afterward. Poisonous vines numbering more than one hundred in number shot out of the ground to try and pierce Noah’s body, but he had already escaped.

A deep hiss filled with agony and fury escaped the serpent’s mouth, then its armor which it had formerly dispersed to allow its movements have no effect on its surroundings; returned, followed by seven more flaming serpents and a flurry appeared.

Unfortunately for them, another barrage of lightning bolts this time containing more power; crashed on their numerous figures obliterating them and even some of Noah’s golems in the process.

Noah watched the ground for more than 120m in radius vanish to turn into a deep 5m deep charred crater.

A sigh escaped his mouth when he saw that the serpent had suffered even more injuries from the attack even if they weren’t enough to actually kill it.

He had almost died less than a minute ago, and if it hadn’t been for the timely activation of the frozen movements skill and his intuition to create a frozen figure in his departure; he would have truly been severed in two halves. Heck, the tail had managed to touch him, leaving a deep gash on his left side. That had only happened since he had only been able to move with his natural speed. Thankfully his healing fixed the damage quickly.

However, Noah’s energy reserves plummeted to below 5k.

His healing had now gotten costly. The mere regeneration of the deep gash had almost removed a full 5k worth of SE. Regenerating limbs would cost him tens of thousands.

Another barrage of lightning bolts shot towards his now lonely opponent, but it receded into one of its holes to escape the attacks.

Noah had to give the serpent praise for its incredible resilience. Normal magical beasts would have already died after the second barrage of lightning bolts touched them, but the beast still had its body in relatively good shape.

Vines shot out of the ground beneath Noah, but only a frozen figure was left, he had long since arrived at the spot in the expanse where the serpent launched its attacks from.

A barrage of punches rained on the spot hosting the serpent, and in the span of an instant, an explosion carrying incredible power shook the ground for more than 400m.

Noah’s punches created a crater that was by no means small, as it stretched for as far as a 40m radius, forcing even him out of that area.

The serpent had been touched by his 90 punches, but its hard scales had managed to withstand most of them. Nevertheless, its backside now featured uneven portions. Whole portions had been caused to cave in like beaten metal, and the serpent’s squishy insides suffered due to them. Blood even started to seep out of its mouth.

Pain flooded into the wild mind of the progenitor of the Grand serpents race; Gurmund, but currently he remained only a wild beast under the rage enforced by the apparently; Great dungeon.

‘His movements have gotten slow.’ Noah drank a potion while slowly walking in an arc with his eyes focused on Gurmund. His figure blazed with power and his sickly paleness vanished into a rich and healthy condition. The potion he consumed had refilled his core by 35k points, which felt more than enough to destroy the serpent.

Noah felt a bit of his headache vanish. Only a bit. The relief had been barely noticeable since every once in a while it increased in intensity. This, however, was due to Noah’s actions of constantly spamming his lightning bolt skill on Gurmund. Even if he didn’t lay eyes on his wild opponent most times.

Noah didn’t stop casting until the expanse had become littered with tens of craters no less than 50m in size. At this point, the serpent had no place to hide and had to begin to dig, but it had gotten sluggish due to the many injuries that now filled its purple figure.

‘Why isn’t he casting more of its flurry and serpents,’ Noah wondered, gazing at his opponent’s desperately digging figure.

Gurmund’s body now featured profusely bleeding holes twelve in number. His head had become deformed and he barely had any teeth left. One of his eyes had been badly damaged during the many collisions with the lightning bolts, but the other remained in perfect condition. He had also lost one arm.

Noah glanced at the countdown for his domain skill and saw that he still had two minutes left. An amount of time in which he planned to do as much as he could.

His figure turned into a streak and he went toward the serpent. Gurmund was currently digging in the eastern parts of the expanse. The many craters there created a more or less good cover for the beast. If it managed to dig deep enough, that was. Unfortunately, Noah arrived behind it and delivered a powerful kick to its belly.

The kick raised the beast by a bit; before turning it over. However, it quickly got up on its now three arms to try and bite its opponent. It bit a pillar of ice, as Noah stabbed both his daggers deep into its head after arriving on it. A fatal blow.

Shockingly, rather than writhe after it let out a cry of agony, the beast seemed to regain its mind, and Gurmund opened his mouth to speak. This time his voice was weak.

“You run around too much,” he announced mockingly. “I wish to meet you again. In perfect state of mind, that is. If that ever happens,” Gurmund added then the light of life left its remaining eye, after which his figure fell heavily on the ground. Dead.

Gurmunds figure turned into a shining mass, surprisingly crimson, before turning into particles that flowed into Noah’s figure.
