Chapter 197 197. SHOOTING STARS
Tapping his fingers on the chairs arm, Noah’s bored eyes swept its gaze around the transparent room he currently sat in, and his eyes quickly fell on the moving scenery around him.
The lower side of his body lay on an extended portion of the chair, allowing for him to partially lie down.
It had been around a day and half since their departures from the dragons claw island, and the darkness of the night remained all around them.
Most of his group-mates were busy asleep, as even they had gotten used to the scenery around them.
‘I knew flying would mostly be uneventful, but what the actual fuck,’ Noah thought heaving annoyed sighs.
The journey so far had been mostly quiet, since most of the experts in there decided to keep to themselves. Noah had even pissed off his seating partner of sorts, which made the silence even more awkward.
However there had been a series of fun moments during that journey. Their mount, a tier 4 magical beast, liked playing.
It had executed multiple dives during that journey, sending jolts of excitement and fear through the minds of its passangers.
Not only sharp dives at Incredible speeds, but also rapid spins whenever they encountered a cloud with a big enough hole for it. And also loops, mostly when it had lowered its height.
Those experiences had been quite interesting, but its playing had stopped when the tier 4 cultivator calmly sitting on the beasts neck announced that they had gotten to the northern regions of their nation.
The announcement had brought about an air of solemness, utterly confusing Noah who knew next to nothing about the different environments in that nation.
Not being able to ask questions really hurt Noah and suddenly he began to regret his rude behavior towards his seat mate.
Nevertheless, he had a few guesses about the matter. The first and most convincing one being that, they had gotten to a dangerous environment.
While the second guess saw the reason for the sudden somberness being because they had left the regions that they knew.
Noah sided with the first one, but the second one also felt valid. Even he found himself reminiscing about his time in the outskirts of the Cusk nation.
Totally exiting the areas to a place only the opourtuned could go, felt weird. The events that had happened in those months had begun to feel like proper experiences adding to his life’s story.
He had started a new chapter in his life on that planet, such emotions were perfectly normal.
Hours eventually passed, but Noah had fallen asleep by this point. Fortunately unfortunately, something eventually happened along the line.
An explosion of Incredible scales barreled outwards, miles from their position. The orange light of flames lighting up the darkness of the night.
Shockwaves and jets of flame’s, arrived at their area even if the distance wasn’t small. Every single person instantly exited their slumber at the turbulent impact. And only after a few seconds had gone by did they understand their situation.
Three more explosions of blinding power shook the sky, but this time it had gotten closer.
Seeming rivers of deep-orange flames lit up the sky’s darkness even more, as their mount re-gained its balance to shoot towards the weaker beasts behind it.
A few seconds later and Noah got to witness devastating power.
Tens of miles from their position was an extremely bright figure dripping with rivers of flames. It was the red bird Noah had seen in the golden room. But its opponent was what caught Noah’s eyes first.
A massive flying serpent, literally on fire, appeared in his eyes.
Whether the serpent produced the flames or it was as a result of the red birds own flames, most didn’t know, but that sight remained Incredible nonetheless.
The two beasts battled each other fiercely, Noah confirming that the serpent was also of the fire affinity since it created fiery snake’s to ravaged its opponent who defended itself pretty easily.
Jets of flames in their hundreds, shot out of the birds flaming wings to land on the serpents also flaming figure and fiery snake’s.
The collusion of tremendous power caused another catastrophic explosion, Noah confirming would be able to wipe out a city, after successful shielding his eyes from the light.
They were going all out and their battle caused the sky to seemingly tremble.
Pity for the passangers on the beast, rose in the hearts of those privileged to watch without being in too much of a danger.
However that could not be said for those riding tier 3 beasts and were relatively closer to the fight.
Although they were far away from the fight, the first explosion had caught almost everyone off guard, causing the weak beasts to recieve Injuries.
However, the tier 4 beasts who were totally unaffected by the shockwaves, like Noah’s current mount, flew around the battlefield catching the boxes whose mounts and riders had turned to bloodly meat pastes.
Thankfully it seemed the box in which everyone stayed in could comfortably withstand the power of tier 4 attacks.
The middle-aged man clearly used his mental-waves to catch falling boxes while the other 15 tier 4 beasts did the same.
The battle with the flaming serpent raged on while the rescue missions continued.
Unfortunately, things changed when four other aura’s well in the fourth tier flickered into existence distrupting the process.
Real fear couldn’t help but spread inside Noah’s mind at that point.
Although the number of tier 4 beasts on their side remained far more than the wild beasts. Most had to go around rescuing the endangered aspirants.
‘Magical beasts don’t have the ability to expand their consciousness. Only the cultivators can. And the cultivators probably aren’t as fast as the beasts,’ Noah evaluated, and he soon came to a grim conclusion.
“Sacrifices will have to be made,” he muttered. ‘They won’t die from the fall, but would be surrounded by really powerful beasts. Which would lead to similar outcomes,’ he concluded.
‘Should I help,’ Noah thought, seeing that they had begun to struggle. But he soon dismissed that idea as one beyond stupid. He wouldn’t expose his most powerful trump-card for people he didn’t know.
Only a few seconds had passed since the arrival of the four tier 4 beasts but tens to hundreds of tier 3 beasts, regardless of their stage had died already.
Chaos spread everywhere as their mount tried its best to cover the distance between it and the multiple falling boxes.
‘What sort of shitty formation do they have if that many powerful beasts can’t keep us safe,’ Noah thought seeing more tier 4 beasts engage each other.
At this point, the sky around them had turned into an unsafe mess of tremendous power. Noah could immediately understand that he would instantly perish if merely grazed by those shockwaves.
Anywhere tier 4 beasts fought, only blinding white lights could be perceived by the weaker spectators.
Those entities were practically god’s to them, since the sheer power within their singular attacks remained off the charts.
Noah felt unimaginably excited to achieve such power.
When everyone had began to doubt the capabilities of the Divine Lightning guild, something spectacular happened. .
“Get ready for a bit of roughness,” The voice of the middle-aged man, who was also the pilot of that beast; rang-out amidst the multiple explosions in the area.
Their view of the world suddenly turned dark before mana-bulbs lit up inside the room. Before the experts could properly react, their now enclosed box suddenly experienced a violent jerk, causing everyone to hold on to their seats.
However on the outside world, every single box had been ejected from its beast; as they lit up with golden Inscriptions, turning into streaks of golden light all shooting towards one direction.
The skies of that unknown region witnessed what resembled a shower of golden shooting stars.
