Chapter 122 122. TUTORIAL
Three small cracks spread in the fabric of space close to his figure. As blinding golden lights poured out of their insides, forcing Noah to shield his eyes.
From within the cracks came three books. Each book glowing with golden radiance while they floated around him.
The lights eventually died down, while the cracks in space fixed themselves instantly.
Noah immediately uncovered his eyes, as they landed on the books, that shockingly radiated suffocating aura’s of the old.
[Fully unlock them with your blood]
Reading the panels words, Noah immediately searched for something to cut himself, finding none, he simply bit his thumb until it drew blood.
Without any other instructions from the system, Noah managed to make his blood drip once, on one of the books, before his finger healed.
A frown appeared on his face at that point, he immediately bit that thumb again, and only managed to extract one drop of blood before it healed.
He did the same thing for the third book, and watched as all three vibrated intensely, a humming sound soon escaping their fabric.
The humming suddenly stopped, after a few tens of seconds. A wave of silence spreading in Nosh surroundings, then a few seconds later the sounds of locks breaking replaced the silence, while a few panels appeared in his eyes.
[You have obtained Body cultivation manual]
[You have obtained soul cultivation manual]
[You have obtained core cultivation manual]
Noah nod his head at those prompts, his icy blue eyes falling on the still floating books.
Their golden lights had died down, but their fabric still shimmered in the in that environment.
Grabbing one of the books, Noah watched the other two immediately drop to the ground, but that detail didn’t matter much to him.
Reading the words on the surprisingly heavy book in his palms, Noah immediately knew which one it was.
“Soul cultivation of the Archaic Speedling race”
‘That’s new,’ Noah raised an eyebrow, lifting the metal-like cover of the book.
His powerful eyes landed on a set of golden words, “Those who wish to obtain power must give in to speed.”
He tried to gain any new meaning to that sentence, but he soon gave up on that goal. The sentence only sounded dramatic.
Just as he was about to turn to the next page, the systems words flashed in his eyes.
[[You must be careful. It wasn’t attuned for your unique race. So you may encounter a few difficulties]]
Noah nod his head sternly at those words, but surprise still managed to fill his mind when he turned to the next page, his eyes immediately fell on a set of shining words, then his vision suddenly went black!
Sitting up frantically, Noah quickly swept his gaze on his surrounding, realizing that it was already night fall, he quickly stood up and picked the three books, storing the two that weren’t the soul cultivation manual.
“What the heck was that?,” Noah asked the system.
[[I did tell you that you might encounter some difficulties]]
“You did, but why didn’t you tell me that I would straight up pass out?,” Noah frowned.
[[I didn’t know this would happen]]
“But, aren’t you in total control of stuff like this?,” Noah asked, bewildered.
[[You are a new species. This wasn’t how full Speedlings react. Actually I’m storing your body’s reaction in my database for future use]]
A sigh escaped Noah’s mouth at that point, “So basically I’m a test subject.”
[Yes]
“Then let’s continue testing.”
Noah sat in a cross-legged position, the golden book on his lap.
Opening the book, Noah sighted the golden words, then a tinge of nervousness suddenly appeared in his mind, but he quickly shrugged it.
Taking a deep breath and turning to the next page, Noah’s eyes landed on a series of shining words he didn’t understand, but that wasn’t the main problem.
Immediately he sighted those shinning words, his soul core trembled beyond reason, as a massive headache struck his senses.
Noah, in that Instant felt his consciousness begin to slip at an alarming rate, but just before he could completely pass out, a wave of energy left his core and shot towards his soul core
The black object which was his soul core spun intensely at that assistance. Noah managing to stare at the first set of words for a few instants longer, then he passed out, again.
Noah suddenly snapped his eyes open, the sunlight filling those organs, but he didn’t shrink from that suddenness, since his consciousness was inside his soul realm.
A wave of excitement spread in Noah’s mind when he found that his island had expanded by a few millimeters, and his core had gotten bigger though its increase was almost non-existent. Honestly he wondered how he could tell the difference.
The system further confirmed his thoughts, with the prompt that appeared in his eyes.
[You have gained exp. Your mind has gotten stronger]
‘So all I have to do is stare at the shining words to strengthen my mind,’ Noah thought. ‘But how do I do that if I keep passing out after barely a second,’ Noah sighed, hoping the system would answer his question, which it did.
[[All you have to do is train it]]
‘Please explain more on that,’ Noah shook his head .
[[I meant that your mind is currently at the bottom of its rank, which means its sturdiness isn’t high yet. The sturdiness of your soul realm is very important, as it allows you handle higher mental pressures like the manual. You can currently help it by practicing spells]]
“Practicing spells,” Noah muttered.
[[Yes. As a result of your recent breakthrough, your soul core is still fresh and hasn’t received any pressure that’ll force it to get sturdier. You can normally achieve this sturdiness by cultivating your soul core, but for now you’ll have to practice spells, since they are less tasking]]
“I see…,” Noah stood up. “My mind is too weak to currently withstand what ever is in the book,” Noah muttered. “So I have to give it more of a tutorial to allow it handle the real deal.”
[Precisely]
“I’ll do that after I’m done testing the other manuals,” Noah suddenly said, “Though u do wish i knew more about soul cores,” he stored the the soul core manual, then brought out another one at random.
His eyes landed on a similarly looking golden cover to the soul cultivation manual, only that the words written on it were different.
“Unbreakable body of the ancient Speedlings”
“Now! that is how you name a book,” Noah chuckled.
