Chapter 106 106. EMPTY

Six minutes eventually passed, the whole room almost silent due to the anticipation of the last fight. After the battle between Moses and Pete, most were highly excited.

Noah himself continued to play the scenes of the explosion in his mind, and tried to simulate a way to escape or counter the attack if he had been in that situation.

Constant shock filled his mind when he realized that he would need to utilize Muliix to remain unscathed.

Even more respect for Moses filled his mind after that Internal observation.

Although he didn’t overestimate his power, he knew his strength wasn’t normal, so such an achievement needed respect.

Moses came and stood beside Noah his expression that of helplessness, though he looked perfectly okay.

“What’s wrong? aren’t you happy about your overwhelming victory?. It was so overwhelming Alex forgot to announce it,” Noah teased with a slight giggle.

A chuckle escaped Moses lips, his mouth releasing words afterwards.

“If by overwhelming; you mean almost getting killed by my own spell, which I had unleashed without logical thinking, then no,” Moses replied.

“You ended up okay though,” Isabella butt in, her face having a mixed expression between seriousness and fascination.

“I didn’t see him move,” She said, after a few seconds of silence.

Her soft gaze on Alex who was in conversation with one of the five men that had rushed to the scene.

“Yeah me too. All I remember is a sudden cold breeze even when intense heat tried to melt my skin, then suddenly I was okay,” Moses said with a thoughtful expression, his eyes landing on Noah.

“It was the same for me,” Noah lied through his teeth, his expression immediately adopting a fascinated one. .𝘤𝑜𝑚

“It’s amazing how strong they are,” Isabella shook her head with determination. “Let’s get stronger than them and go on adventures,” She suddenly announced, surprising both men who could only chuckle and return their attention on the almost completely repaired stage.

Noah himself fell into thoughts, he had lied about not seeing Alex move, when actually he did. But the man man’s blur like figure disappeared at some point when he entered the stage.

The power tier 4’s had was amazing, but the uncertainty of his immediate future worried him to no end.

He eventually began to doubt if he would get rewarded at all. The threats elder Malachi made put a pressure on him that he couldn’t ignore, after all he looked serious and his power would be enough to end Noah.

‘I need a break,’ Noah thought massaging his temples. He didn’t feel any pain whatsoever only that it felt relaxing to do so.

The stage eventually finished it’s repair after a few more minutes. Alex voice rang out the next Instant, “Last challenger please step on the stage,” His voice spread out across the large room, Dan and Elliot walking towards the stage.

“I liked your prowess with the sword , and I’d like to test myself on you, though spells are allowed.” Dan immediately said after they had gotten on the stage.

Elliot limited himself to nod, a sword appearing in his right hand, then he crouched slightly, both hands holding his sword while he raised it up to his face, it’s tip pointing at Dan.

A smile cracked on Dan’s face, his figure suddenly springing towards Elliot. He had used a movement technique.

Swinging the sword that had appeared in his right hand upwards, Dan tried to destabilize Elliot’s firm stance, but he failed.

In a quick and decisive method, Elliot took a small step backwards dodging the upward slash by a hairs width, his stance still as firm as before.

In that time frame of dodging Dan’s attack, Elliot noticed a loophole in the man’s defense, but he didn’t attack, opting to jump backwards dodging the blades of air that Dan had set for him.

“You’re sharp. I like it,” A wide grin appeared on Dan’s face, while six magical circles expanded behind him, each circle spread out enough to take a significant part of the stage, almost like a wall.

Suddenly pillars of air shot out of the magic circles, each pillar converging towards Elliot’s stationary figure.

Elliot watched the incoming spells with a calm expression, his eyes immediately scanning the round stage.

Dan had played a smart move making the attacks cover a wide area in the stage, only leaving a bit of space for him to move, which he would most likely get ambushed in.

So his sword vanished from his grip, his body roiling with mana immediately after.

Waving both his arms up, Elliot caused a large thick wall to rise up, splitting the stage into two unequal halves.

Although very tricky, and mana reserve draining, he had a solid plan.

A wave of mild surprise hit Dan as his spells crashed on the thick wall and it suprisingly withstood their power, causing an explosion of wind and mild dust to spread out.

Dan had to raise his arm to shield his eyes from the gust of wind that struck his figure, a mistake he didn’t know he committed.

Suddenly a magical circle expanded on the stages surface encompassing it, then the earth that the stage was made of suddenly turned soft and malleable, causing Dan to fall due to the suddenness of the attack, but that wasn’t all.

Suddenly the ground turned solid again, causing Dans left hand; which he had used to try and balance himself to get stuck, and both his leg that were already knee deep into the ground to get stuck.

A deep frown appeared on Dan’s face at that point, although there wasn’t much he could do at that point, he still tried.

A magic circle flickered on his right palm as he got prepared to injure himself while escaping that predicament.

But he suddenly felt a sharp edge dig into his neck a little, his entire body freezing up.

“It’s over,” Elliot’s tired voice sounded behind Dan, who stopped the spell he was about to cast, his shoulders slumping in defeat.

The ground around Dan turned soft but this time Elliot helped him out.

Dan got to see Elliot’s face at that point, and understand his condition.

Elliot’s face had gone ghostly pale due to draining himself of Mana. His breathing sounded ragged and forced, and he seemed to get tired with every slight movement his body made.

Dan understood that a punch from him would probably cause Elliot to pass out.

The thought of cheating crossed his mind, but he remembered that a tier 4 existence spectated the fight.

The veil suddenly disappeared, three men walking into the stage and handing healing potions to both cultivators, who walked down the stage.

“The winner of the last challenge is Elliot,” Alex announced the crowd clapping the young man.

Respect for the winners of Bozolom spread in the minds of the nobles who saw them worthy of their coming rewards, though not everyone was happy.

“With that done, we will end the day with more celebration,” Alex announced, inscriptions lighting up on the stage then it crumbled, all the stones receding into the ground and going back to normal.

Alex directed the ten cultivators to return to their seats, then a group of finely dressed women and men walked up the stage, and to Noah’s surprise they held musical Instruments in their hands, or brought one out of their space rings.

The night ended with more eating and drinking, while listening to the group play music that Noah considered weird and lacked polish. Though the others seemed to enjoy it so he said nothing about it.

Hours inevitably passed until Alex announced the celebration over and that the nobles could return back to their various homes.

It took over half an hour for the room to be completely empty, multiple noble men coming to greet Noah and his fellow winners. Though Noah felt a few hostile gaze’s among the crowds that had formed around their table.

Noah limited himself to smile and reply a bit, causing the nobles to get bored and leave him early, though surprisingly Isabella had not a single person talking to her, and Noah blamed that on the cold glares she gave anyone that tried approaching her.

Eventually the whole room was absolutely empty, only remaining the ten winners and a silently floating Alex.
