Chapter 320 - 184: Unlocking a New Talent! Unity of Heaven and Man
Chapter 320: Chapter 184: Unlocking a New Talent! Unity of Heaven and Man
"Okay, I get it."
Chen Xuan said coolly.
’Unity of Heaven and Man... so this is its power. Truly incredible!’
’From now on, I won’t even have to lift a finger against weaker opponents!’
’I’ll just unleash my aura, and they’ll drop to their knees!’
’This level of pure badassery is unparalleled throughout history.’
’It’s far, far stronger than any of my previous talents.’
"So, what is it?"
Chen Xuan asked.
"I just thought of something," Old Deng said. "A Netherworld Street has appeared nearby, and they might be selling a lot of good stuff. Want to go check it out? The passage to those ruins hasn’t fully opened yet, and we’re just sitting around with nothing to do anyway. We might as well take a look. My only worry is running into people from the Longevity Sect, so it would be best if we disguise ourselves."
"Netherworld Street?"
Chen Xuan raised an eyebrow.
"That’s right. It’s connected to the Night of the Dark Fog. Since this is where the largest dark rift is located, strange things tend to happen after the fog recedes."
Old Deng explained, "The Netherworld Street is one of those phenomena. On the night of the seventh day after the Night of the Dark Fog ends, a bizarre street appears in a valley on Yanyun Mountain. They sell everything imaginable there. Outsiders can bring things in to trade freely, and you can even eat or stay at an inn. It’s all quite miraculous. But after one night, the Netherworld Street vanishes without a trace, as if it were all a dream."
"A place like that really exists?"
Chen Xuan was astonished.
"Yes."
Old Deng replied. "So... shall we disguise ourselves and go take a look?"
"Disguise my ass. So what if we just waltz right in?"
Chen Xuan said coolly.
He was looking for someone to test the power of Unity of Heaven and Man on, anyway.
’Let the Longevity Sect come at me with everything they’ve got.’
"..."
Old Deng’s expression flickered, but he quickly let it go.
’I can’t seem to figure this kid out anymore.’
’But one thing’s for sure: he must have other aces up his sleeve.’
’He really is on a whole other level than Chu Shanhe.’
’Maybe in just three to five years, he’ll be able to beat Chu Shanhe to a pulp.’
"Right, I’ll go get some things ready. We can head out immediately!"
Old Deng turned and left.
A short while later, he returned with several bundles.
"What did you bring?"
Chen Xuan asked, puzzled.
"All good stuff."
Old Deng let out a sleazy chuckle.
"Let me see!"
Chen Xuan snatched a bundle, inspected it, and exclaimed in surprise, "Aphrodisiacs? ’Steadfast Spear’? What are you planning to do with this junk? Don’t tell me they have brothels there."
"For trading, of course! Trust me, this stuff is in high demand. You could offer them rare spiritual herbs and priceless treasures, and they might just turn their noses up at it."
A grin spread across Old Deng’s face.
Clearly, this wasn’t his first trip to the Netherworld Street.
He knew exactly what was what inside.
"Fine, let’s go have a look."
Chen Xuan smiled faintly.
His curiosity about the place had grown even more.
The two of them left immediately and soon vanished from sight.
「Dusk had not yet fully settled.」
Outside a valley deep within Yanyun Mountain.
A number of figures had already gathered, hidden in the mist, waiting for night to fall before entering the valley.
Many were murmuring in low voices.
The topic of discussion was still Chen Xuan’s killing of the Outer Saint.
The expressions of many flickered with deep apprehension.
Finally, after a little more time passed.
The sky turned completely dark.
The surrounding white mist began to rapidly turn black, like pooling ink, creating a grim and eerie atmosphere. Even more magically, the valley entrance ahead transformed as if by a grand illusion.
A wide, bustling street suddenly appeared.
Inns, pedestrians, small stalls, lantern lights—it had everything.
However, the lanterns were ghostly.
And the people didn’t look alive; their faces were deathly pale, as if they had been soaked in water for ten days and ten nights.
An unspeakably sinister aura permeated the entire street.
But through the lantern light, one could see that the stalls were filled with rare treasures...
The outsiders all seemed to be familiar with the rules.
No one spoke. They all moved quickly, heading down the street to begin searching for what they needed.
"So this is the Netherworld Street..."
Outside the valley, Chen Xuan gazed inward, his eyes wide with astonishment.
"Yes. In short, it’s incredibly bizarre. It’s best to avoid trouble if we can."
Old Deng whispered.
"Alright, let’s go see. And while we’re at it, help me trade for some cultivation resources!"
Chen Xuan said.
"Don’t worry! I’ll definitely get you what you need!"
Hoisting two bundles on his back, Old Deng walked straight in.
Chen Xuan glanced at the stalls on either side, speechless with amazement.
The things they were selling were all incredibly strange, things he had never seen before.
There were shriveled herbs, pitch-black stones, glowing fluorite...
...as well as some horns and chunks of flesh...
There was even a crimson, heart-like object, still beating, though what creature it belonged to was anyone’s guess.
Then came something even more outrageous.
Chen Xuan saw a stall selling... *pizzle*.
Exactly what kind, he couldn’t tell...
All in all, the dazzling array of goods was a real eye-opener.
Several female martial artists stood not far from the pizzle stall, giggling and stealing glances.
"Nine-Orifice Profound Ginseng."
Old Deng’s eyes suddenly lit up. He had spotted what Chen Xuan wanted to trade for. Pulling Chen Xuan over to a stall, he took a bottle of ’Steadfast Spear’ from his bundle. "One bottle for one stalk. Deal?" he asked.
The stall owner’s eyes glinted strangely. He reached out a withered hand, took the bottle of ’Steadfast Spear,’ uncorked it, and took a gentle sniff. A look of greed surfaced in his eyes.
Suddenly, he held up three fingers and rasped, "Three bottles for one stalk!"
"You greedy bastard!"
Old Deng cursed under his breath. He glanced at the stall’s wares and declared, "We’ll take all the Nine-Orifice Profound Ginseng you have. Give us a number!"
The stall owner’s eyes swept over his stock.
There were seven stalks of Nine-Orifice Profound Ginseng in total.
A grin spread across his face as he rasped, "Eighteen bottles. Let’s call it a friendly price!"
