Unfettered Retribution: Slaughtering My Way through the World
Chapter 302 - 180: Smash Yu Chen Master to Death
Chapter 302: Chapter 180: Smash Yu Chen Master to Death
A region in the central part of the Yanyun Mountain Range.
A vast, roiling sea of white mist surged.
A town, ravaged by demons.
It was deserted, with collapsed buildings everywhere.
The only signs of life were in a large courtyard mansion at the town’s very center, where a group of masters had gathered.
This was undoubtedly the Martial Alliance’s foothold.
At this moment, the atmosphere inside the spacious main hall was oppressive.
Three groups of people were seated, facing one another from three different directions.
In the easternmost position.
Situ Fang, the "Shadowless Hand" and Grand Elder of the Martial Alliance, sat in the main seat with a grim expression. His sharp gaze was fixed on a figure before him.
The figure wore a white Daoist robe. Her features were fine, her hair held back by a silver clasp. She had an otherworldly air about her, and her eyes were as calm as an old well. She was gently toying with the lid of a teacup that had just been served.
It was none other than Yu Chen Master of the True Martial Sect.
"Give me an explanation!"
Situ Fang said in a low voice after staring for a long time.
"..."
Yu Chen Master acted as if she hadn’t heard, leisurely continuing to toy with the tea lid.
"Enough!"
Situ Fang exploded with rage. He grabbed his own teacup, smashed it on the floor, and roared, "Tapping, tapping, tapping! What’s so interesting about a teacup? I’m talking to you, do you hear me?"
In another direction, there was yet another group of people.
All of them were dressed in sky-blue cloud silk.
Every one of them wore the same grim expression.
Without a doubt, this was the Lingxiao Sect.
Their experience was the same as the Martial Alliance’s. When the dark, misty night fell, the demons and monsters, no longer deterred by the presence of a powerful expert, went on a mysterious killing spree, nearly wiping out one of their strongholds as well.
Now, at the invitation of the Martial Alliance, they had gathered here to demand an explanation from the True Martial Sect!
But they never expected that Yu Chen Master of the True Martial Sect would remain silent ever since she arrived, her expression cold, looking as if she couldn’t care less about anything in the world.
At a sight like this, it wasn’t just the Martial Alliance’s Grand Elder Situ Fang who was enraged.
Even the members of the Lingxiao Sect were furious.
"Are you angry with me?"
Yu Chen Master said nonchalantly.
"Tell me, why did you abandon this place and return alone?"
Grand Elder Situ Fang of the Martial Alliance stared at her, his eyes burning with fury.
"I don’t like your attitude."
Yu Chen Master’s tone was cold. "I won’t answer that question. When your attitude improves, you can come and discuss it with me then. Farewell!"
She rose to her feet, flicked her sleeve, and turned to leave with her people.
From start to finish, she hadn’t spared the Martial Alliance or the Lingxiao Sect a single glance.
The expression of Yun Che, the Vice Sect Leader of the Lingxiao Sect, changed. He shouted angrily, "Wait! You can’t leave!"
’She wants to leave this easily without any explanation for our disciples’ heavy casualties? Even if the Martial Alliance agrees, the Lingxiao Sect never will.’
Yun Che shot forward, his large hand reaching out to grab Yu Chen Master.
Yu Chen Master’s eyes turned colder. Without even looking, the gleaming longsword at her waist flew from its scabbard. It brought forth a flurry of fragmented light, as erratic and unpredictable as starlight, impossible for gods or ghosts to discern, and pierced swiftly toward Yun Che.
Yun Che’s face changed. He felt as if he had been plunged into a terrifying ocean of Sword Qi. It was everywhere, above and below, hissing and surging violently.
It was as if countless openings had suddenly appeared all over his body.
He hastily retracted his hand and tried to defend himself.
But it was useless.
With a series of wet thuds, droplets of blood spattered, staining the ground red.
Yun Che’s body flew backward uncontrollably. He stumbled back more than a dozen steps, his chest mottled with blood from over a dozen deep sword wounds, some of which were deep enough to show bone.
Yu Chen Master’s longsword returned to its scabbard as if it had never moved. Her eyes were indifferent, as calm as an old well, her expression unchanged.
"You wanted to stop me?" her cold, detached voice rang out.
The terrifying scene made everyone in the hall turn pale with shock.
Even Grand Elder Situ Fang of the Martial Alliance was stunned, his heart filled with disbelief.
’I knew that Yu Chen Master was ranked thirtieth on the Earthly Rankings, higher than me...’
’But her power is just too terrifying.’
"You... Your strength?"
Yun Che, his chest covered in blood, looked at her in shock. "Your Swordsmanship... your Cultivation... they’ve improved again?"
"...What do you think?"
Yu Chen Master’s voice was cold and emotionless. "My Cultivation is still at the Ninth Layer of the Inner Realm, but the world within me has grown more solid. My Swordsmanship has touched upon the origin of the Great Dao, so you could say it has ascended to a new level."
"Ascended to a new level?"
Yun Che’s face was a mask of horror.
’For an expert of this caliber, every single step forward is fraught with immense difficulty.’
’A single step can surpass a thousand people!’
’It’s an exaggeration, but it highlights the sheer difficulty and terror involved.’
’Yu Chen Master was already thirtieth on the Earthly Rankings. Now that her Swordsmanship has ascended to a new level, her rank should jump by at least seven or eight spots, maybe even ten.’
’No wonder she could defeat me in a single move!’
"Yu Chen Master, you’ve gone too far!"
Grand Elder Situ Fang of the Martial Alliance couldn’t help but roar in anger again.
"..."
Yu Chen Master’s expression was cold. "In this world, nothing is more important than my Cultivation. I had a sudden moment of insight and had to return for closed-door cultivation. Nothing and no one could have stopped me!"
"So you just stood by and watched the dark, misty night spiral out of control!"
Situ Fang shouted furiously.
"I don’t like your attitude."
Yu Chen Master’s voice was cold. "Think carefully about your attitude before you try to meet with me again. I have nothing more to say to you today! If you still can’t change it, I wouldn’t mind leaving something on you as a reminder."
She turned and continued to walk out.
In her white Daoist robe, she looked unspeakably ethereal and detached.
