646 Peace?
The Sun God was only of use as long as he was alive.
That was his sole purpose in life and Dilan had made sure that the Sun God understood the difference in their capabilities.
It was quite obvious that the Sun God could obliterate the entire flying island and a huge part of the Shikan plains by unleashing the power of the Sun Divinity to an extreme but that was not something he could do if he held his life dearly.
The Sun God was only a weak God even amongst the Lesser Gods. Other than his Divinity, which was extremely powerful and complex to use, the Sun God couldn’t be considered special.
In fact, Demi Gods with certain special traits and constitutions were likely to be physically stronger, and more agile than the Sun God.
This was something that could only be seen rarely but it made sense because the Sun God’s biggest advantage was the large amount of mana he could hoard in his body and his extraordinary control of the fire element.
Both were part of the reason why he could get his hands on the Sun Divinity, to begin with, yet, neither of the two most unique traits of the Sun God was powerful enough for him to control the Sun Divinity’s true power.
There were still limits that had been put on the Sun God and he had to work hard to slowly unveil the secrets. It was his mission to unseal the Sun Divinity, fix the mistakes he made when creating the Sun Divinity, and attain a higher understanding of the Sun, its powers, and much more.
Dilan understood all of this, including that the Sun God had been trying hard to spread fragments of his Divinity through the known Universe to make sure that it would get stronger and stronger.
It was commonly known that sacrifices in the form of Essences, corpses or ingredients that possessed lots of mana and essence were a good way to stabilize an unstable faux Divinity and to break the seals that were put on it without causing chaos to erupt all of a sudden.
That was why quite a few Lesser Gods with faux Divinities, whom they had sealed themselves for the sake of safety and to be able to control the powers of their Divinities, created temples throughout the known Universe.
They searched for followers, or at least, beings who were willing to sacrifice monster corpses and other ingredients in exchange for benefits.
This kind of scheme existed for a long time and it was well known that some True Gods had ascended from being a failure to a Lesser God thanks to the temples they had created.
The sacrifices they had received and the knowledge they acquired in the course of centuries had allowed them to fix their mistakes, unseal their faux Divinity and turn it into a True Divinity by acquiring the necessary means to control its true prowess.
The Sun God was attempting the same but just like many other Lesser Gods, he was failing miserably. His knowledge was not even a drop in the ocean compared to what he truly needed to acquire the true power of the Sun Divinity, and it was only a matter of time before he used up too much of its accumulated power without actually being to wield it…once the energy of the sacrificed was used up, the Sun Divinity was bound to devour the Sun God whenever he used it without knowing how to actually use it.
Dilan was a walking library, overflowing with knowledge, but he didn’t intend to help the Sun God. There was no reason for him to help. Rather, Dilan wanted to see the Sun God die, in his hands at best.
His temple had been extremely helpful at the beginning o the Primordial Ascension but Dilan hated the Rasnian and Ligrav races. He was sure that there were good individuals in the race but that was not really something Dilan was interested in.
But Dilan didn’t do anything against the Sun God for the next two months. Instead, he focused on his own growth, the enhancement of the Hyel Destructo Armor Set, and the increase in strength of his people.
Peace had dawned upon the flying island for these two months and some Ascenders began to believe that Dilan had been too worried about the ‘chaos that awaited them in the future’.
Chaos would come, whether they wanted it or not.
And as if Dilan’s word had been the prophecy of an Oracle, peace crumbled after only 10 weeks had passed.
The Queen’s Image reported that she perceived several conflicting sources of mana clashing at the borders of the Sun God’s territory.
Her radar function had been activated with the use of a bunch of Essence crystals, which Dilan had provided after he finished nurturing the Hyel Destructo Armor Set. The Hyel Destructo Armor Set was at the Peak of the fourth Tier, and it was the strongest batch of pieces of equipment anyone on the flying island possessed.
Dilan was quite astonished that the Hyel Destruco Armor Set was still so useful because he possessed it for such a long time. It saved him quite some trouble searching for new, better equipment to wear.
Oricalm was similar in this regard. He didn’t possess the Soul Weapon for a long time but it was created with the same materials that were used to create a high-quality True Divinity. It would grow with his strength even after he ascended godhood.
That was also the reason why he demanded Oricalm from the Oracle for passing the three Trials he had been given in the City of Trials. His score had been perfect all over, so it was only obvious that he should be given something exceptional…and the True Destruction Trait and Oriclam were both more than outstanding!
They were everything he had needed to advance without any delay…to become a mighty True God in the near future!
