641 Dilan, the Actor
Dilan was supposed to distract the Sun God to stall for some time.
That was his main mission. As for the additional mission he gave himself, Dilan had solved it just now.
A single glance to the battlefield was more than enough to tell that more than a hundred thousand Rasnian and Ligrav had been killed while even more than that were still on the verge of dying.
The blazing light needles he had created out of the surrounding mana were quite powerful, far stronger than Dilan had expected.
‘The Power of the Sun is not something you should ever underestimate…I see…’
He nodded his head and kept his attention on the battlefield.
There were still two dozen Demi Gods that had yet to die at Dilan’s hand but that was fine. He would get scolded if he were to kill too many.
The Sun God and his subordinates were still useful. They were supposed to provide the Alliance in the flying island more protection, possibly as long as possible.
Unfortunately, today’s events were likely to have a huge impact on the plans of the Undying Group and the situation all around the territory of the Sun God.
It was a hassle that the Sun God chose to attack them all of a sudden. Dilan didn’t really like the situation but he held back after his initial attack.
His goals were achieved and both the Demi Gods and the Sun God were enraged.
He activated the Taunt of his Artifact of Traction a few more times to make sure that all opponents at and above the fifth Tier would be focused on no one else but him.
As if the Demi Gods and the Sun God wanted to give him a reaffirmation that the taunt worked, they attacked him almost at the same time. The Rasnian attacked him with blazing infernos, the Ligrav, who were flying in the air by stepping on the flickering flames around them, used blue flame and the Sun God released a beam created with the compressed power of his Sun Divinity.
Each of the attacks was more than enough to kill him over and over again, and that was exactly what happened. Dilan’s entire body was burned over and over again. He didn’t move and merely activated the True Undying Essence while using a considerate amount of his remaining mana to make sure that his Origin ability was working at its limit.
The Demi Gods stopped their onslaught of attacks after using more than half of their mana. They could tell that their target had been hit and that Dilan had burned to a crisp. He was nothing but mere ashes.
That was correct because Dilan had burned to ashes a few times. His body regenerated a little before it was burned to a crisp again. Over and over again…and then again…
Almost a minute passed before the Sun God’s solar beam had ended. The Sun God took a deep breath, a single droplet of sweat trickling down his temples while the crimson staff in his hand felt searing hot, even for an existence such as the Sun God.
However, he didn’t let go of the staff nor did he store it away. Something troubled him, the young human whom he had just killed, to be precise.
A mass of flesh was forming out of nowhere, at the exact position Dilan was located. That was exactly what the Sun God had sensed before when he forced the solar beam to keep releasing more and more power.
There was something wrong with the human he had just killed and the answer was unveiled in front of him not long after.
“Surprise, I’m back! Don’t you think it’s great to have a resurrection ability…you fucking hoodlum!?” Dilan shouted out loudly when the mass of flesh expanded. Dilan emerged magically from the mass of flesh with a bright smile on his face. He was laughing out loud and ready to joke around. A glint of slyness emerged in his eye for a second as he prepared the final step for his charade.
“Nobody will ever find out about the limit of my abi–…”
The next words stuck in his throat and his expression changed drastically. He began to sweat heavily thanks to the water-attributed mana he created to create an outstanding performance.
Dilan cleared his throat and a forced smile appeared on his face at the sight of the Sun God it looked like he was trying to evade the Sun God’s eyes and attention.
‘Not avoiding their attacks if I can evade them pretty easily is quite stupid…but it looks like it worked out…though I don’t really like scheming it seems to be quite helpful…’
Afterward, he activated Walk of Thunder and Second Acceleration and he exerted the Zephyr Step movement technique.
“Follow me, if you can…little kitty!” Dilan exclaimed while making it seem as if the earlier ‘incident’ never happened by sticking out his tongue before he disappeared.
He turned into a gust of wind that shot far away from their current position.
The Demi Gods who were certain that they were on their way to find out more about his rumored resurrection ability released their own abilities to follow behind Dilan. They didn’t even wait for the others of the Sun God, led by greed and the desire to eliminate Dilan for good.
‘A resurrection ability? It has to be true, otherwise, he wouldn’t have survived my solar beam…but it has a limit!’
That was a pleasant surprise, amongst the misfortune the human had caused.
‘I will kill you hundreds of times for every single one of my subordinates you’ve killed!!’
While the Sun God swore to himself that he would take revenge. Dilan made enough space for his own people to wreak havoc.
All combatants above the third Tier, tens of thousands of powerful Monsters, and more than 20 Demi Gods went into action, their opponents being the Army of the Sun God…the army that had just been abandoned by their Demi Gods and the God they worshipped.
‘I hope the others have less fun than I will have!’
