571 The Undying vs The Eternal Darkness (9)
“Sorry to trouble you, but this moon is fucking annoying!” Dilan shouted out loud, fully regenerated.
He stood on top of the mansion-sized Blood Eclipse Moon and stared down at the pitiful mass that had once been his body and the remains of Kaeldur’s body.
‘That screech was really loud. Well…whatever.’
Using his mana and the power of destruction, Dilan formed a mana blade shrouded in several layers of destruction.
What followed suit was the manifestation of the Immortality Aura and a mighty thrust into the ground. The mana blade pierced deep inside the Blood Eclipse Moon, but that was mere superficial damage.
Thus, Dilan took a deep breath before he discharged his entire mana and life force inside the mana blade and his attack.
“1st Thrust of Destruction Sword Style, Hole in One!” Dilan shouted out loud, making a grimace as the Blood Eclipse Moon burst open, unleashing all the crimson moonlight that had been hoarded inside it.
‘So it was really a hollow creation? Except for this tiny grain, of course!’
Dilan stared deeply at the tiny grain that looked just like a miniature version of the Blood Eclipse Moon while the hoarded crimson moonlight shot in all directions.
It spread all over the City of Trials, shrouding the City in crimson for a few seconds before it dispersed. At the same time, the fragments of the Blood Eclipse Moon shot in all directions, destroying entire buildings outside the City of Trials. The fragments also destroyed parts of the Colosseum, wreaking havoc wherever they passed by.
“Another mess removed. Two subordinates down, one ability terminated, and only one exhausted young man left to defeat!” Dilan shouted out loud, his eyes gleaming brightly as he spent a few seconds exerting the Perfect Essence Cultivation technique to replenish his mana inside the mass of mana above the Colosseum’s arena.
‘Come on…show me some emotions, Nial Orin!!!’ Dilan shouted in his mind as he dived down, head first. He used Green Magic to control the winds around him and to summon new winds.
His control was back to its Peak and he could deactivate the True Undying Essence once again, and replenish it for later use.
Taking a deep breath, his entire body was filled with excitement once again. Considering the situation of the battle, Dilan was certain that he would get a good overall rating in the Trial of Power. He might have been imprisoned for several weeks, killed over and over, and forced to control his powers in a manner that allowed him to use them even when his life force was so low that he could barely be considered to be on the verge between life and death.
It had been extremely hard but he escaped the imprisonment of the Eternal Darkness.
As if that was not enough, he ended up killing his subordinates before he eliminated one of his many annoying abilities.
“Fuck off, you bastard!!” Nial shouted all of a sudden, a humongous amount of mana, dark energy, and Darkness Essence erupting all at the same time.
Kaeldur’s remains turned into darkness currents that merged with Nial’s body, but that was not something the young Fate Changer was able to sense anymore.
His eyes had turned crimson in color and a humongous construction was being created behind Nial.
‘What the hell is that?’
Dilan stared at the outlines of something humongous that was unleashed with the tremendous amount of energy Nial was releasing. His hands began to tremble and his mind froze for a second at the sight of the…gate that formed out of Nial’s energy.
The gate was tens of meters wide, covering the entire length of the Colosseum’s Arena, and it was higher than the Colosseum, ranging far over 100 meters.
Dilan had no idea what was actually going on. He wanted to make sure that everything was still somewhat fine. Thus, he glanced over to the Oracle, who had observed the entire battle from the beginning up to now.
She hadn’t moved a single inch for the entire time….until now. The Oracle had shot up from her seat the moment she perceived the same animosity that Dilan felt at the sight of the forming gate.
He could tell that if there was something that could actually kill him, it lay behind these gates….and Dilan had no idea what that might be.
He was not looking forward to finding it out, either…
‘I cannot allow Nial to finish the Gate!’
Dilan felt fear for the first time in a very, very long time. It didn’t feel good, not at all.
His heart was beating wildly, cold sweat trickled down his cheeks and he was slowly getting uncomfortable in his own skin. He could clearly felt that the thing that lay behind the Gate was powerful enough to kill him…for real.
The thought that there was something that could even kill him, a being that couldn’t even die when his body and soul were destroyed, was both reassuring and scary.
It was reassuring because it forced him to act more carefully and to understand that there was always something stronger than oneself, something one could defeat on their own, and scary because Dilan was certain that Nial had no idea how to control the being that lay behind the gate.
Dilan was not sure why he was so certain that the Eternal Darkness couldn’t control the existence behind the Gate, but he knew it. He was certain and that was more than enough for him to start acting.
However…what was he supposed to do, to begin with?
Nial’s entire body released a tremendous amount of energy. There was nothing Dilan could use as an indicator of how to stop this chaotic mess.
That was troublesome, and Dilan actually reconsidered cutting Nial apart.
But, would that really stop the Gate from being manifested? What if he would miss the most crucial part and worsened the situation…if that was possible, to begin with?
Just when Dilan was about to turn insane, he saw golden particles in his hands and something appeared magically inside his empty palm.

“Long time no see, System!”
