568 The Undying vs The Eternal Darkness (6)
With the appearance of the bloody moon, Tyrant seemed to have gotten stronger. The Giant Demon’s body expanded as well.
However, even then, Dilan’s attack wasn’t terminated.
The blade that seemed to have expanded to a length of three meters cut through the air. It would never be able to hit the designated area Dilan had in mind, but that was something he could live with.
The blade enlarged due to the combined effect of tremendous amounts of Holy Light Mana and Immortality Aura that brought the material of the weapon to its limits.
That was exactly what Dilan intended, just that it impacted on the chest of the Giant Demon, where the blade cut through everything.
There was no holding back as the blade cut through the darkness, crumbling it into shreds before a massive amount of dark-red, almost black blood splattered through the surroundings.
Dilan squinted his eyes at the sight of the tremendous damage he did to the still-expanding body of the Giant Demon.
‘Something is wrong…why the hell would Nial sacrifice Tyrant? That makes no sense!!’
Still, even though his mind was telling him that something was terribly wrong, Dilan wouldn’t halt his attack just because of his gut feeling.
In the worst-case scenario, he would die and he was more than ready to die a few times if it would allow him to kill one of Nial’s subordinates, and that was exactly what he was doing just now.
Dilan used all his might to finish his attack cleanly. There was no hesitation in his movements even if his mind was going wild.
It took just a moment for his blade to slash through the Tyrant of Destruction, nearly cutting the Giant Demon apart.
Blood gushed out of Tyrant’s chest, his severed and mangled ribs were clearly visible to Dilan and it was only a matter of time before the Tyrant of Destruction would die, or that was what logic told him, at least…
Once his attack had been concluded, Dilan used Green Magic to push him backward so as to avoid the attacks that would reach him any moment.
However, there was nothing. The Tyrant of Destruction did not attack him.
“Looks like I made a big mistake. I grossly underestimated your power,” The Tyrant suddenly said in the Demon language, confusing Dilan even more.
The Tyrant of Destruction turned in Dilan’s direction. He pointed the darkness mace at him and his expression changed once again. Deadly seriousness could be seen in Tyrant’s eyes.
‘Did he want to fight me alone? Was that how he underestimated me or was it the sword slash? And just what the hell is this fucking moon?’
Too many questions bombarded Dilan, but he tried to ignore them all in order to depict the important clues his surroundings provided.
The wall of darkness was still standing and Dilan was not able to sense anything past the wall. Meanwhile, the huge mass of mana was slowly being pulled to the ground of the Colosseum’s Arena like usual.
This had been the case for the last two weeks and it was something that granted Dilan the opportunity to absorb a tremendous amount of mana. Through this, he could deliver one powerful attack after another. It was also the reason why Kaeldur ended up losing his other arm not long after Dilan’s cut-off arm had regrown.
‘Wait…the mana is seeping into the darkness rather than the ground itself…you bastard!!’ Dilan’s sudden realization caused him to forget about the Giant Demon, who towered in front of him.
He shot high in the air in an attempt to see both Nial and Kaeldur but before he could reach a high enough altitude he was yanked down again. Several ropes of darkness had coiled around his legs tightly.
Tyrant grasped the ropes by himself rather than using only his control of dark energy to generate a stronger pulling force to slam Dilan back to the ground.
Dilan, who had been distracted by the shocking secret of Nial’s seemingly infinite dark energy supply, couldn’t react fast enough. He crashed into the ground without any means of defense.
Luckily, he broke only a few bones, all of which healed in the blink of an eye, and he shot up from the ground, early enough to evade the charge of the Giant Demon, who seemed to enlarge endlessly.
Releasing a strong blast of air into the ground below him, Dilan propelled himself high in the air. Just a fraction of a second later, Dilan created a platform of compressed wind above him.
The platform of wind was made use of by Dilan, who pushed his feet from it after he did a somersault to fix his position and balance himself.
He blasted past the severely bleeding Giant Demon and landed on the ground with a heavy impact, which he tried to lessen with a roll.
That worked out well enough for him and he jumped back to his feet to look at the miserable state of the Tyrant of Destruction.
‘What the hell is he doing?’
Tyrant’s wound was getting worse by the second. If he wanted to survive, Tyrant should have stopped moving and tried to use his dark energy to accelerate his regeneration.
That was more than necessary because the properties of the Holy Light attributed mana was eating away the dark energy all around and within the Tyrant of Destruction.
It made no sense for Tyrant to fight in such a suicidal manner all of a sudden. There was no reason for him to do that, after all!
‘Is Nial tired and trying to finish me off after using Tyrant as bait?’
Dilan glanced at the darkness wall as if he could see through it, but it was to no avail.
Changing his plan, Dilan chose to go ahead with the plan Nial seemed to have come up with and come up with counterattacks.
‘If you want Tyrant to stall for you in exchange for his life, I’m fine with that… one less troublesome opponent to take care of later!’ Dilan thought, inwardly shrugging.
‘He won’t die literally, either way.’
A huge beacon of light erupted from Dilan’s body after he finished his thoughts and a subtle smile appeared on his face.
If he could kill Tyrant by playing into the Eternal Darkness’ hands, there was no reason to reject his gift.
With that thought, Dilan rushed forth, ready to decapitate the Tyrant of Destruction.
